The fan card autograph in the picture of all of the group...Was that written in 1987 at the Blackpool Tower Lounge??? If it was I was there, and the name the band wrote was my name, as I already had a card for Jimmy, Alan and Derek I was there with my sister and friend..Jimmy sung John Denver song, Annie's song..to me...I am Kirsty..Thank's for the memories!!!!KXXX
The tall guy with the glasses...His name is Jimmy Nunnen and used to work with my mum in a printing firm in Wallasey. He used to play 'Subbuteo' on his lunch hour with his colleagues, and when he left to play in the band; guess who he gave ALL his subbuteo game to? Yep...ME! Pitch, players, surrounds, everything!

Candlewick Green were one of the few bands to score 100 on the 'clapometer' on Op Knocks. This song by Jigsaw's Clive Scott (RIP) and Des Dyer is world class - why did it only reach No.21?
This is still the best out of the 3 original versions of this, with Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods coming in a close second! But I grew up in South Africa, and this was the version played there, so perhaps it's just 'cos I'm more famliar with this one!
There's actually very little difference in this and Jigsaw's version. It sounds as if both versions use the same piano track. Bo's version has almost the same arrangement but it slightly faster than the first two(sound faster to me anyway).
I know this song as done by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods. Incidentally, in my book, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods are a one-hit wonder group (with this song), and Paper Lace (only known to most in the US who followed 1970s hit music for "The Night Chicago Died") are not, because the version of "Billy Don't Be a Hero" that was played on Washington, DC, area radio stations was the Paper Lace one.
Back in the day when Pop Bands played their ow instruments I sure miss those days

1974 again! What a year! It also spawned Ace's only big hit: "How Long?" Lovely, mellow yet upbeat number. Love it!

The vocal on this this isn't as strong as the original by Jigsaw! You can't compare this dude with Des Dyer!!

@Sarasdad91 I like Bo's and St Etiennes over this one. This is bland in comparison.
