  • Ahh...The good old days where CNN wasn't just another sheep media company...Now CNN condones wars overseas, they HATE Ron Paul, and they continue to try to be subjectively objective...Why not just be objective? I will never watch CNN again. MSNBC is farrr more honest...Oh and by the way...Ron Paul 2012. And he actually plans to take the money out of politics.

  • the young turks suck as a news reporting station because of the guy who does it

  • This is he REAL reason Sanchez was fired. He is TOO HONEST. HE is TOO GOOD an investigative reporter: the entire corporate news media cannot stand this kind of journalism because he makes them all look bad. Honest journalism does not exist anymore in the major media.. Also: the public has been dumbed down and brainwashed into apathy and self-indulgent self-delusions, that Americans are too fat lazy and stupid to ever rise up against their owners.

  • a hero on corruption from the state of Florida?

the state that brought the US the first banana-republic rigging of a presidential election?

the state that disenfranchised thousands of democratic voters?

the state that houses the only CIA and terrorism connected Cuban rightwinged community?

a hero for a population suffering from amnesia.

  • @sonbarably Cuban American have no idea what is the best way to bring freedom to Cuba. I had meeting 4 years ago with Cuban leaders in Washington DC. They still live in the past and are manupulated by US media. The only way is to lift any restictions and embargo and let US people travel and do business with Cuba and the country will change. I do not want any international shakals to perform criminal privatisation ,like in my home coutry Poland or Russia.

  • TheYoungTurks great video !!! I remember Rick Sanchez in south florida channel 7 wsvn and I agree 200% with what u said about never expecting him to be the hero of journalism... he is! and the fans of The daily show with jon stewart and colbert report better wake up to what just happened!! because those shows are the control opposition ... i watch in 1 year jon stewart and stephen colbert shake hands n hugs with oprah, bill o'reilly , obama, and raj patel... sad!!

  • Rick Sanchez is 100% correct.I want to say Jews are NOT a the problem. Jews are good people. In Poland we did save them for 700 years from discrimination in Western Europe going back to 12th century from Spain, France, Germany. Now we are talking about the Zionists Atheists rich from NY or LA controlling the US and World Media and using good Jewish history using people working for them as useful idiots. America has to wake up.

  • @PolishAmericanDC Jews are liberal so they're helpful in fighting the right wing noise machine in my opinion.

  • Jews did 911, they own the media so they make it look like it was Arabs. That's why you can look up the 'Dancing Israelis 911' and you'll see they were caught dressed as Arabs, celebrating while recording video. Many Americans are waking up to the great schemes of the jews. What was once laughed as a crazy consipricy will soon be accepted as truth. Jews own our media, banking and are trying to control our religions, government and schools. We need to take America back.

  • All the major media believe every word of the 9/11 story.

Both major parties believe every word of the 9/11 story.

twin towers, building 7, pentagon, shanksville, anthrax

Who controls the media and government censorship?

  • hmmm

  • Is this like a rip off of onion news? Because theres no way these guys can be truly that moronic.

  • Hmmmm I am surprised at all of these great journalistic views! but no one has tried to investigate this name "The Young Turks" and how they made an impact on history and if America is a dirty scumbag corrupt country the young turks should be punished ten time over for their sins

  • The american democratic system is a piece of shit. They are the only mentally retarded people in the world who believe their own BS. We should be just like the canadians and outlaw lobbying people's representatives in congress. The US is the only country in the world where health care is a prevelige and not a right for all the people who pay taxes.

  • two major recent events in German politics, aka health care bill and one for nuclear plant running. both were heavily lobbied and pushed through not by the people and not by the government but by companies and groups who're after huge amounts of money...it's everywhere. and they don't even try to cover it up, they count on us to swallow all of this in the long run...

  • Obama is not the most corrupt President in history. Not even close. Obama's contributors amount to a far less disconcerting smoking gun than contributions to previous Republican presidents. Sure the health care industry contributed to Obama but the insurance industry spend 100s of millions fighting him (while only contributing less than a million to his campaign). Make no mistake about it the target of healthcare reform is the insurance industry.

  • Rick Sanchez should investigate his corrupt self! Specifically how he left a football game in Miami and knowing that he was drunk, got behind the wheel and struck an innocent pedestrian. He was paralyzed and later died as a result of his injuries. Sanchez was charged with DUI but plead no contest and walked away a free man due to his hot shot lawyer and our awesome justice system.

  • On December 10, 1990, Sanchez struck a pedestrian, Jeffrey Smuzinick,Smuzinick was paralyzed and eventually died in an assisted living facility in 1995.Sanchez fled the scene of the accident, not to return until hours later.he registered a blood alcohol content of .15 and was charged for DUI only. Now, do you think you could get away with it? He's commited murder and got away with it. You can't trust anything he says or reports

  • @rodzilla255 Do you hold ALL people to that degree? Keep in mind, Sanchez was not charged with hit and run, and plead 'no contest' to the DUI. Obviously, the Miami-Dade police don't consider it murder, and your labeling it as such is merely sensationalist tactics to discredit him. Laura Bush killed a kid in an accident when she was 17, after running a stop sign. Does that mean that everything she said after that is without merit or untrustworthy? Do you hold yourself to such standards?

  • @AtrophyChannel Laura Bush wasn't drunk and it was immediately reported. Sanchez was drunk, left the scene and was never even charged for leaving the scene. When he came back he had lawyered-up. He still blew .15 after returning much later. He took a page right out of Ted Kennedy's play-book. I'm sure most people realize at the very least he should have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident too. I believe he got away with murder just like Ted Kennedy.

  • @rodzilla255 I will ask again. Do you hold EVERYone, including yourself, to these standards? Think about this carefully. Is every single person who makes a stupid decision(I never defended him, by the way) immediately non-credible in every aspect? Laura Bush wasn't drunk, so what? She ran a stop sign, breaking the law, and killed(or "murdered" in your words) a young kid. You are cherry picking people to hold to this standard. That was my point. Unless YOU have never, ever made a dumb decision.

  • @AtrophyChannel Many people have accidents, such as, hitting the gas pedal, instead of the brake and hurt or kill. was their intention to hurt or kill, if they are sober they deserve the benefit of doubt. when you decide to consume alcohol, you know before you take the first drink, your chances of hurting or killing someone, while driving, is greatly increased. there is a difference. Rick Sanchez knew he was wrong, he left the scene to call his layer.

  • @AtrophyChannel Sensationalist tactics to discredit him? shame on you, defending a drunk murderer, discredits you. Rick Sanchez discredited his self the very second he got behind the steering wheel drunk.

  • @rodzilla255 You are being so obviously partisan it's not even funny. Eugene Maysky, Mayor of Trainer, Penn. has been arrested for 4 DUI's now. Apparently he is still credible enough to be Mayor, right? Or at least until someone dies, going by your logic. Plenty of decent people make bad decisions. Except you, I guess. Well, little miss perfect, if you can demonstrate that you have never made a bad decision that got someone hurt, I will concede this one to you.

  • @AtrophyChannel Partisan to what? let's get something clear, I don't belong to any political party. I call them like I see them. The Mayor you talk about, if his voters know the facts and they voted for him, it's on them, not me. don't blame me for other peoples mistakes. and no, I've never ever accidentally hurt anyone. To be honest, I think that your defense, on this is very misguided.

  • @rodzilla255 Never accidentally hurt anyone? Give me a break. Well, little Miss Perfect, it looks like logic will not work with you. Have fun attacking only the lefties while claiming to be unbiased.

  • @AtrophyChannel what I have said is true, the facts are clear, only a buffoon would think differently. Sanchez got away with murder. Very few people disagree, you don't see overwhelming support for him here. Just a few people who would defend him no matter what, for no other reason than he is a left-winger. If anyone here has a logic deficit, it is you.

  • @rodzilla255 Blah blah... I never defended him, and you have no legal authority to call it murder, since neither the police nor the DA charged him with murder. "Logic deficit" indeed. I just called you out for being a hypocrite due to the fact that you would not be spamming the board with this stuff if he were one of your precious neo-cons. You proved that by saying that you have "never ever accidentally hurt anyone". Such utter bullshit. Take your hypocrisy elsewhere.

  • @AtrophyChannel Let's see, common flaws you liberal activist make, calling anyone you disagree with, hyprocrite, racist, homophobe then if that doesn't work you use profanity. Well, anyone looking at your youtube channel will know who the real hyprocrite, you're so far left and loony you're off the map dude. Again, no one else would of got off as easy and Sanchez, it sad you're too loony to know it.

  • @rodzilla255 No one else would have got off as easy as Sanchez? Do I have to remind you how many Republican politicians commit heinous acts and DO get away with it(Jeffrey Kyle Randall only got 275 days for molesting 2 boys, 10 and 12)? You really think the cops let him go because he is a lefty blow hard? Common flaws you neo-con hypocrites make is thinking that anyone who points out the flaws of the far right are "far left loony". Talk about someone who is off the map. Good day, ma'am.

  • @AtrophyChannel you make claims I'm baised, again, one look at your channel clearly shows who is truely baised and a hyocrite, and a very delusional one at that. Your claims of moral equivalence seems to make it ok with you that Sanchez got away with murder. Yes, one glance at your channel is proof that you are far-left and loony. Put down the crack pipe, move out of your parents basement and get a freaking life.

  • Rick Sanchez is an American Hero !!! go get them Rick !!! i am very tired of the corperate democrates and the republicans selling out our country to these big insurance lobbiest. i am a independent . and the curruption have to stop !!!

  • @rodzilla255 You are nothing but a troll, a republican shill who repeats this bullshit to discredit people, and yet you don't turn that same barometer of ethics towards the people you support, or yourself.

  • Rick Sanchez's face and voice annoy the hell out of me

  • just like yours and ur dad bill o reilly

  • haha

  • Hey Rick ... Why did you not mention that over their Careers...

Barack Obama is the heavyweight champion in taking money from healthcare !

    Obama has taken 12 MILLION

In 2nd with 6 Millon is John McCain and in 3rd is Hillary with 5.4 Million !

How come Rick nor Terkinstein did not mention this ?

  • @electroman076 I have been trying to find support for your claim the Obama has taken 12 million from the healthcare lobby. I can't find it.

So, post link or stop lying.

  • @0past I am glad you wrote back so I can cure your ignorance !

The infromation you seek was found at the non partisan website Open Secrets you can find it by going to their homepage directly or searching for it on Google or one of the search engines.

As you know this channel does not allow me to post links so you are out of luck on that. So go to the site and see the FACTS !

Obamas #6 largest donner was Helath Professionals give just shy of 12 Million

  • @0past some more info I bet you did not know about Obama one of the most courrupt presidents in history !

Goldman Sachs was his #2 single donner !

Citigroup was his #6 largest single donner and J. P. Chase was his #7 largest donner.

Now you know why the finanical bill was a weak bill that ammonts to a joke !

Wall St., Big Education and The Health Industrial Complex OWN Barack Obama !

And the FACTS found at the website OpenSecrets PROVE IT !

  • @0past one last time I will list the top Obama contributors by Industry and then by Individual ! 1 Lawyers/Law Firms $43,154,642 2 Retired $42,892,978 3 Education $22,976,126 4 Misc Business $16,500,999 5 Securities & Investment $14,891,735 6 Health Professionals $11,746,631 University of California $1,591,395 Goldman Sachs $994,795 Harvard University $854,747 Microsoft Corp $833,617 Google Inc $803,436 Citigroup Inc $701,290 JPMorgan Chase & Co $695,132
  • Medicare is rife with waste BUT private Insurers

have to deny claims b/c they have CEO's with

million dollar salaries. This is called overhead.

It's 30% overhead in private insurance.

5-7% with Medicare. Every claim denied is

money in the pocket of the Insurance employee who stamped DENIED. That is why they exist. They do not

need to be replaced they need competition to get

overhead under control. Govn't competition is a bad solution b/c there are no good solutions. who else can compete?

  • You could not be more WRONG !

IN FACT ! The AMA has put out a study which confirms...

Medi Care DENIED MORE CLAIMS in 2008 than ANY private insurance company !

In 2009 Medi Care DENIED the 2nd most !

    Those are facts !

Google "2009 National Health Insurer Report Card"

    See for yorself !

  • We'll gee, you out capped me, but you didn't

out fact me. Consider what you just said, "Medi Care DENIED MORE CLAIMS in 2008 than ANY private insurance company !"

The number of senior citizens who automatically get medicare coverage is a tremendous number. It would far out number any one insurance company. Medicare's overhead is 5-7%. Private insurance 30%. If Medicare denies claims it is not b/c they have to feed their CEO or pile up enough denied claims to get

    a promotion.

  • That's an economic fallacy! % of total program cost is unrelated to efficiency. e.g. If you sell policies only to healthy kids who don't make any claims, your overhead is 100% REGARDLESS of how efficient administration is. These numbers simply show that Medicare's patients are older and sicker than those of private insurers. It's not evidence of greater efficiency at all. 96% of Medicare's overhead is unrelated to claims processing, so 5% overhead for them is huge i.e. massively wasteful.

  • This is why here in Canada we have laws that specifically forbid influence peddling (in other words lobbyists corrupting the political process to get what they want) in any way< if they are caught they can (and do) go to prison for it along with whatever government officials they have corrupted.

The American system needs to be reformed to disallow lobbyists from poisoning the process that is supposed to benefit the greater good.

  • Amen man. Sadly, our Government's too infused with Corporatists who manipulate the epithet of 'Capitalism' to get Americans afraid and fighting with each other to ignore the big picture (where funds go, to whom in the shadows and the 22,000 Americans who died just last year for rescinded health insurance). Max Backus is one of those legislators that needs to be removed.

  • Bernie Sanders is a an admitted socialist.

Profit is a good thing unless you're a socialist. Nobody greases the political process with more money than the unions...and they're flat out anti-capitalist (communists)

  • "Nobody greases the political process with money more than the unions"

-Um, where did you get that "fact"? There are lots of organizations that spend as much or more on greasing the political wheels than unions do. Health care/insurance industries are only some of the culprits.

  • My point is that 'money' is 'speech' in our political process....it's how we support candidates we agree with. This whole government health care thing is an attempt by the unions and the government to get control(money) of a massive segment of private enterprise.

  • Your argument doesn't make any sense... if the government wanted total control of the health care system, why wouldn't all of them advocate for the single-payer plan? Why would many of them be watering down the amount of governmental influence?

  • The government wants the money that flows through the health care system so that they can spend it....they're smarter than us y'know. The unions want to be able to organize the system into another big Democratic voting block. No mystery here....all the same self serving motivations. At least I know what motivates the insurance carriers, and at this time I can 'choose' to do business with them...or not.

  • I wonder what kind of corruption got Rick Sanchez off on his DUI hit-and-run homicide? He should investigate and expose THAT!!!

  • You mean the part where he was charged with a DUI, which he did, but NOT causing the accident, which he didn't? Both Rick and Jeff were drunk; no one caused the accident, so you can't slap him with causing it.

  • Our Healthcare is the best thing going for the insurance companies. the people (whether they know it or not) are being screwed! The World Health Organization isn't 'assuming' when they rank us near the bottom. The 16% of GDP spent on healthcare (2X the next country) isn't an 'assumption', its a fact. BTW, our economy is Captialist/Socialist ALREADY! (ie Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA) <--- None of which any politician would ever vote to remove b/c the people wouldn't let them.

  • politics was never good anyways,

  • Obama didn't accept lobbyist money so they have no claim on his decisions. I'm sure that people gave the same amount of resistance when they made public schools. Healthcare is something all people need, but not all people have. I've heard it likened to giving everyone in the classroom Bs when half have only earned Ds and the rest As. But it's not the same... It's a matter of life and death. If making healthcare a public service is a bad thing, so is donating to help after any disaster.

  • We need a fireball to fall from the skies and put an end to life as it is.

  • Please take note asshole Faux viewers.

This is what true journalism is. This is information that keeps you informed.

I know this is strange to you because no one is screaming, being bombastic, demonizing the opposition, or promoting & selling his own personalized knickknacks. Journalism is not about that nor indoctrinating an audience to a particular ideology or political faction. I am sure that since your mind has been poisoned by watching Faux News, seeing true journalism must seem strange.

  • OMG?! Actual journalism on tv?!? somebody pinch me.

  • Reform healthcare the right way and keep government in its place.

  • Stop being a brainless twit & spewing bumper sticker slogans. What is the right way to truly reform healthcare when corporation have purchased politicians to enact their agenda. What is govt's place in our society if not to protect us from greedy corps that CONTINUE to fuck us in the ass.

You clearly love being fucked in the ass in the name of "keeping government in its place."

I hope you object to govt. mandated purchase of private insurance and a $3800 tax penalty as u do a public option.

  • You are the one brainless. What happens when government takes control and gives it to you in the keester? Who will look out for you then? Its happened before in other countries. History has proven that everytime the government is in control it abuses that control and exploits those in its care. Just like in Germany, USSR

Google guardian abuse, beverly bresso, red flags.

Also do a search on SSI abuse and scaming.

Its easier to undo the damage of the private sector than government sector.

  • And I am sure that Big Corporations and the richest 1% are so much more out to protect our best interests?

I suggest that you Google for your brain.

  • You didn't answer my question:

WILL YOU OBJECT TO GOVERNMENT MANDATED PURCHASE OF PRIVATE INSURANCE (meaning you will be forced by the govt to purchase private health insurance & if we don't there punishment is a $3800 tax penalty) This is supported by private sector (hint: their stock rose)

Who is suppose to undo the damage of the private sector? The private sector fix themselves. Why should they when its so profitable for them? Everything u claim about govt is 100X worse in the private sector

  • Or are you, the anti government fool going to rely on the government to pass regulation of the private sector; who have already bought off those same politicians your going to rely on pass that regulation. The private health industry will kill regulation just like they kill health insurance reform.

The will fight to the death of millions of Americans to preserve their profits. Oh but of course, you think their going to fix them selves out of the kindness of their hearts and a sense of morality.

  • Because when you have competing companies or a choice of nothing, companies must lower their prices. You cant do that with government interference. You can only undo that with a vote which is usually cancelled out by the corrupt voters of the Democrats.

The big companies give to Democrats so they can force us by their ineffective policies. This is not capitalism, it is marxism.

  • a little late ya think sanchez

  • ACORN

    Baltimore

    DC

    San Bernardino

  • This happens because we keep re-electing the same old dickheads to both congress and the senate. This in effect, screws every one of us out of any true reform in the way these people are paid off, as none of these entrenched elected fucks are going enact legislation that will cut their own throats.

This is old news. We apathetic Americans, at least the 60 to 80 percent who don't vote for our representatives in DC, just don't seem to give a shit. Until that changes, there will be no reform.

  • why?

  • Didn't Olbermann do a special comment on this topic?

  • Rick FTW!!!

  • Nice work, Rick : )

  • One reason you don't see this stuff on most mainstream news is the health insurance companies buy advertising, and the network doesn't want to piss them off and lose the ad money.

  • That Dirty Sanchez did a great job

  • Palin believes the dinosaur is 4500 years old.

I don't want the keeper of nuclear codes believing the earth is 4500 years old and getting her instructions from a mythical God.

America may be stupid but we're not stupid enough to put the Palin nutcase in the oval office.

    That's a FACT!

  • he does a decent job! not great but hes on CNN! need i say more?

  • Well, Olbermann already did this, but...the more the merrier.

  • gold is fiat all things are fiat

  • rick should slam this point

  • it's a good time to be a politician, on both sides, kaching!!!!!

  • Incidentally I remember it was Rick Sanchez who was also one of the only US broadcasters (I saw anyway) that asked a question or two about who broke the cease fire during the Gaza slaughter.

  • In other words he really might have a journalists core and this is no fluke.

  • tax this money out of these companies instead of them even having the cash to lobby. you get the cash either way, sure it doesn't go in your pocket it goes in our the people's pocket, tax cuts pay down the debt etc

  • Your country is sick.... simple as...

  • Try 34%, the military is most of the vast majority of industry jobs and the job market is leaning more to military/government jobs every day

  • wall st. is the new Washington

    didnt you know

  • Because of this massive injection of cash to politicians from these corporations, Americans will NEVER get any form of Universal Health Care. It's real sad

  • your over acting again. Have drink Rick

  • Another big moth fool with nothing important to say

  • a) State Farm & others tried to deny Katrina victims (& failed) because they of a "flood insurance" piece of shit clause even though it was the winds of a Cat 5 that caused the destruction b) it has already been proven that with enough oxygen cancer cells cannot survive- its already been "cured" c) pharma SUCKS- the side effects of all the bullshit coming out now is more than enough to physically fuck up anyone but shady dr.'s still prescribe the crap because a "drug rep" sold it

  • You want Saddam back in power?

You want AlQueda running lose with no one running after them.

    Just wiki "terrorist organizations"

Sorry this all sucks - but the world is a shitty place.

  • mainstream media under reports the relevant news and over reports the irrelevent. If you believe it all to be one big sick conspiracy check out my channel

  • Kiss my ass, Geico

  • Money rules the world. I cannot deny that it might be happening here ( European Parliament ), but your politicians (not all of them luckily ) are a bunch of corrupt dirt bags. They take money from the big cooperations and let you rot away, because you cannot afford a health insurance or proper medicines.

  • The only problem with this report from CNN is that it doesn't include the names of the people from the corporate insurances who influence the policians with money to vote "no" on Health Care.

  • Doesn't this prove that a public option would eliminate private insurance. Otherwise why would they invest all the money to fight it.

Sanchez you are stating the obvious. Nothing new here.

  • No, it proves that the public option would hold them accountable, and cut into their massive profits. THAT'S what this proves.

  • Obama's clearly not "demonizing" private insurance companies, if he were, he would not have bothered clarifying that they're not bad people. a for-profit health care system is counterproductive in that the motive is profit, not actual health care.

  • If we follow your logic to its. Why wouldn't we let the govt take over our whole economy?

Capitalism has produced the best innovations in the world. Why would you think that the govt is better at running healthcare.

Profit is indeed a motivator. I do contract work for a govt office. Its amazing how different the culture is there. They all watch the clock and at 5:00 there is a single file line that forms at the exit. If you happened to be by the exit at that time you will get stuck.

  • Profit shouldn't be a motivator for health care. Health care should be a motivator. Money being the end-all be-all means that people will look for ways to maximize profits, even to the point of denying people coverage, as is already the case. It's a sad state of affairs.

  • would you feel that way about any other product. Should building a great car be the only motivator in the auto industry. If so, none of us could afford one.

America has prospered because of capitalism. Why would you take capitalism out of the equation when it comes to something so important as healthcare?

Sure it needs tweaks here and there. But to go towards socialism would destroy it.

  • This has nothing to do with tangible products like a vehicle. That's where you totally miss the idea of health care, by miles. I'm so damned tired of conservatives blanketing the entire world "socialism" that doesn't agree with their world-view. The term has damn near lost all meaning. It shows a lack of respect for differing points of view, and a willful ignorance about the actual debate at hand.

  • Distinction without a difference.

Every business must balance Service, Price and Quality. Healthcare is no different. If you stress quality too much price and service will suffer. If you want to have plush chairs and beds, gourmet foods and steambaths in your hospital rooms, price and quality will suffer. If you want to have rock bottom prices, quality and service will suffer. Follow?

If conservatives are not using socialism appropriately as you state, educate them.

  • You can't educate someone who's dead-set on something. Someone who's completely set on calling something "socialism" won't listen to reason, and will probably call my comment socialism. No one's asking for plush beds and steam baths. The reform debate doesn't even center around our current health care facilities, but cost and coverage. The cost alone is the single biggest factor in our current financial problems, and will only get worse unless we can reform that part of the system.

  • I'm trying to argue your initial point that profit should not be a motive. Any business needs to balance service, quality and cost. You said profit should not be a factor. If quality of care is the only factor, cost can and will spiral out of control. We have seen this in other federal programs social security, medicaid, medicare, postal service, public schools etc.

Just out of curiousity. What gives you this confidence in govt when their track record is so abismal? I'm really curious?

  • Profit can be a bonus, but not at the expense of service and coverage.Health of the patient should be the ultimate motive, not profits. Costs are spiraling out of control right now, if you haven't noticed.

  • Lots of people talk about how the USA is #1. If we are, why can't our #1 country get a #1 government who can make our health care #1? If you don't trust the government to run health care, why not elect someone that you think is smart enough to do so? Lots of republican congressmen seem to like to argue that they are too stupid to run something as complicated as health care... kinda silly to tell the world how bad you are at your job...

  • It certainly won't eliminate private insurance, but it *will* hurt their profits. That's why they're spending shitloads on politicans and disinformation campaigns about reform.

  • Well if they're only making 3% profits. How much are you gonna hurtem. If you hurt them more than 3% worth then they are in the red and potentially out of business.

The Republicans do have a point here.

Sure it sounds good to make the Ins. Cos. out to be the villian, but there are other things that can be done to reign them in.

HSA is one good option that I have had for years. It promotes responsiblity and rewards healthy lifestyles.

  • One thing I would like to see in this health care reform, is an all over nation wide matched cost for things. I've noticed that here locally an arm X-ray costs me $45, but if I travel to a bigger town the costs is now more like $62. If you live in a smaller town you fair a little bit better on some things, but not on others. I've been on the fence listening to both sides of the argument. And both sides have some good points. But I'm more inclined to side with health care first, profits second.

  • ur either young or rich, and as a result u hav neva been exploited by the healthcare system. Im originally from New Zealand and we hav universal healthcare. Healthcare prices arnt even a problem for us because the govt subsidises it for us. when i got here it astounded me how expensive it is. now wonder companies r being ran into the ground and 50 million people dont hav health care. ur guys irational fear of losing freedoms is not just naive its pathertic. FYI everyone in NZ has healthcare

  • the number is actually closer to 15 mill when you take out illegals and those earning over 75k choose not to have insurance.

A subsidy is still a cost. where do you think the money comes from.

We know capitalism will produce a better product that is why we are resising socialist system.

Just a few tweaks are needed not an overhaul.

Why not try it out in a few states and see. Obama is moving too fast. With terrible results as we have already seen on his other "solutions".

  • Mate u just showed how ill informed the republicans r on this issue. Obama is just introducing a public option that acts as competition to the others companies, which is a capitalist ideal. Also u can puchase the public insurance and add private insurance on top of it, this gives u even more choice, which means u get more freedom. Every argument the republicans raise against this issue is just invalid and u guys dont even cosider facts.

  • You really think the public option would fold if they were losing money. Yeah, like the post office, medicare, medicaid social security. They just keep right on going even though they're hemmoraging.

How can anyone compete with that. Insurance companies are only making 3% profits. if they have to compete with govt they WILL fold.

Here's an analogy for you. In NASCAR it would be like adding another car to the race that has an endless supply of gas.

    Changes are needed not overhaul,sport.

  • I don't agree with your three percent profit statistic, but even if it were true; it's that way because of skyrocketing medical costs. The medical industry and the prices charged for medicine and by hospitals for treatment would need to be reduced greatly in order for insurance companies to increase profit. And if those things happened, I doubt people would make such a fuss about the need for healthcare reform.

  • Our system is pretty bad. 37th in the world. And we pay the most.

  • yea it is, because u guys hav so much money and, by far,the best technology, i was shocked how by how ineffiecient ur system is, NZ's system is even better. I luv a america and i respect how much u regard ur constitution, but ur govt needs to start being rational and realise capitalism does hav its flaws, sumtimes, especially with things like healthcare, u cant let the motivating factor be profits, it has to be about helping people, which u dont get with billion dollar corporations

  • Sure it has flaws. But, its the best thing going.

Why take a step backward. Why do we assume other countries have it right?

Use our innovation and competition for good. Don't use this as a point to sent the country into socialistm.

  • Sure it has flaws. But, its the best thing going.

Let me repeated myself. 37th in healthcare standards according to WHO. Number #1 in cost. What part of that strikes you as the best?

  • Basically, all devoloped Europe countries rank in the top 15 in WHO's "Best Healthcare Standards" page. France is #1

    .

  • I pray Palin runs in 2012....

    Guaranteed win for Obama.

  • Palin would bury him if election were held today.

I think Ron Paul could beat him today. Hell, I think Limbaugh could beat him today.

America is finding out that Obama, while a great orator, is an empty suit.

He is spending like a drunken sailor, he's losing the Afghan war, wasted stimulus money, paid off auto industry, taking over healthcare.

He's worse than bush because he's able to convince half the poplulation that he's knows what he's doing.

  • You just prove that fools like yourself can always be deceived. Of course Obama has spent money to right a sinking ship that he inherited from Bush and his greedy cohorts. Unfortunately greed continues, because Wall Street knows that they have a gun to our head.

  • obama supported and voted for the war. He called it a "necessary war". He campaigned on it. It's HIS WAR.

Now he's losing it because he's focusing on healthcare reforms that no one wants.

While he is quite charming, HE IS ALSO INEPT.

  • "obama supported and voted for the war. He called it a "necessary war". He campaigned on it. It's HIS WAR."

Obama wasn't elected to the Senate until 2004. How was he able to vote for the war?

"healthcare reforms that no one wants."

No one? Really? So you can account for every single opinion in the country? It's always hard to believe those that speak in absolutes.

  • He voted to increase spending for it. He also stated he would have voted for the start of the war had he been in office.

  • He stated that he wasn't convinced of the necessity of the war and that he didn't know how he would have voted. Later he voted to increase spending when soldiers were running around without kevlar and humvees with no armor. Even I would have voted for this had I been in his shoes. You stated that it's 'his (Obama's) war'.......it's not. It was started by Bush under false pretenses. We were all lied to. Make no mistake. The war belongs to Bush and Cheney.

  • When he campaigned, he said iraq was the bad war and Afghan was the "necessary war". google it if you can't remember.

Why didn't he pull out when he got in office if he doesn't support it.

He has dropped the ball on the war because he's preoccupied with healthcare that no one wants. More are dying everyday. Bush had it uynder control.

It's his war. You can't blame Bush forever.

  • Bwaahahahahahahahahahahaa!!!!! You just said Bush had it under control!!!! OMFG!!! That's rich! Wow, there's no debating with you. You are a true believer indeed.

Keep drinking the EIB Network's doo doo flavored Kool Aid, man.

    Cheers.

  • Hey sport, check out the deaths per month in afghan. You will see how Obama has blown it.

Facts don't lie. But then again most libs don't deal in facts, its feelings right.

  • First, I'm not a 'lib'. I don't tow any party line and I don't buy into news opinion be it FOX/CNN/ or otherwise. Secondly, how is Obama directly responsible for a rise in the monthly death tolls? If you look at the coalition death tolls from Feb 09 to Jun 09, you will see they are far lower than *many* of the monthly death tolls under Bush. Correlation, my friend, does not imply causation.

  • fuck funniest thing ive heard in a while. No self respecting individual would actually vote 4 Palin

  • wtf your fucked in the head

  • I'm an independent, a feminist and a woman. I've had to battle men's misogynistic tendencies in every job I've ever had. However, I find Sara Palin an embarrassment to women. I could NEVER vote for a simpleton, lousy mother, quitter like her. She is nothing but a political Paris Hilton.

  • I'm a male nurse. Statistically, there are about 10-15% male nurses. You'd think by those numbers I had to battle sexism right? Not at all. Not once has a person said anything to me in a sexist way during my career.

My point is, not ever statistical anomaly is evidence of bias.

  • You think women have a monoploy on discrimination?

Every race and religion has had to deal with it. Get off your ass and get over it. Its what you do when confronted with discrimination that shows your true character.

As for your name calling. If that's all you can come up with then I can see why you have problems at your job.

  • You are correct about one thing: continuing to fight in the face of discrimination is a sign of strong character.

However, a society that still permits and allows discrimination and hostility to groups based on race, religion, sex or sexuality is a society that lacks character.

With all the important challenges facing this country today, why do certain groups in this country to still subject to senseless and backward biases? That is the real question.

  • I don't believe discrimination is accepted by most people.

The only groups of people that I feel are discrimnated against on a large scale in the US would be Christians and people with physical impairments.

  • Are you saying that as an evangelical Christian with a disability?

  • Man, your logic is really out there.

  • Yes, I am sure sound logic is really out there for someone who actually believes that Christians are the most discriminated group in America.

As for disabled citizens go, I can tell you I have traveled the world and this country does not have an equal when it comes to providing access and opportunities for people with disabilities. Is there room for improvement? Of course.

But your hyperbole about the alleged persecution of Christians & disabled people in this country is ridiculous

  • What Christian persecution? The one where he keeps all his churches? The one where he buys, sells, and creates all his Christian books and essays? The one where God is in the Pledge and the Testaments under statues? That persecution?

  • LOL

  • You're absolutely right... for the first 3 words. After that, you lose anyone capable of thought in a mad, chaotic storm of wtf? Thanks for playing.

  • People who are educated, have a sense on community and a sense of responsibility to their fellow human beings, a sense of fairness & respect other peoples rights, are not hypocritical bible thumping judges, who don't quit their responsibilities when the going gets rough, aren't delusional and are in touch with the every day realities HATE PALIN.

Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt & assume you are a meth head if you think people hate her because she has tits and a vagina.

  • Wow look at all the hating of Sara. In this thread, yet not one valid argument.

Why do libs go apeshit over women or blacks who have conservative viewpoints.

They ARE people with their own minds. Over half the country IS CONSERVATIVE. I consider it a little offensive that they assume women and blacks cannot possibly have another viewpoint.

  • OH that is easy.

People with good sense don't like Sarah Palin because they realize she lacks substance. She was only chosen to run alongside McCain for the extremely cynical belief that it would attract women voters even though she comes off as complete nut, rube, and airhead.

  • Most people, especially Black people, aren't necessary hostile to Blacks with conservative viewpoints. But they are extremely suspicious of those Black conservatives who become the lap dogs of the Republican Party and who are manipulated to parrot the Republican Party line even on issues and conservative causes which are hostile to the Black community as a whole.

  • and that doesn't happen in the Democratic party?

  • You're never going to convince people with all the hate speech. Give a real example and maybe someone will listen.

Unless you just like blowing off steam.

  • Meth head; my entire response to you was a valid argument.

Palin does not have, ever demonstrated, nor displays any potential to have any of the attributes I listed. You so called conservatives don't even live by your own political philosophies. People with their own minds don't constantly follow scripted talking points, despite the damaging lies in them.

No one takes offense to conservative opinions, it is the hypocrisy and betrayal of those conservative views that people are offended by.

  • No it isn't. Give an specific example that demonstrates any of the bad character traits you believe she has. Your feelings towards her are not a valid argument.

  • Sure they are trying to get their side out there.

If a public option is created, they become extinct.

So yes, this is the fight of their lives. Isn't that obvious.

    Sanchez is such a boob.

  • rofl at use of 'boob'

  • sanchez is a drunken pig

  • uR MOM IS A PIG, AND YOUR DAD IS THE BUTCHER.. FUCKING IDIOT S.O.B

  • ebhbjbhj

  • why doesn't rick get drunk and kill them with his car?

    he's good at that

  • Investigate this . . .

In July of 2009, the United States paid more than $19 billion in interest on the public debt [$19,812,486,187.83, Office of the Public Debt]. In 2009, according to the CBO, $177 billion of taxpayer funds will be used just to pay interest on the debt—not to pay off the debt, just to pay interest on it.

  • lmao YOU THINK Americans know any of this information, they see numbers and imagine nothing but paper, the same paper that they cry for and bitch and complain.. But let me ask you this: Do you think the Federal Reserve uses any of the interest towards American prosperity?
