Did anyone else mute the TV when stations did this when they were younger? I hated when they had these stills with no sound when this happened for a minute or so, then suddenly some guy out of no where says "YOU'RE WATCHING..."! Would scare the shit out of me. It actually beat some closing logos in scare factor sometimes.

this maybe unrelated, but i remember in the 80's during the daytime, USA would scramble their signal for cable affiliate testing. during the scramble, different USA show hosts would say that this is a test and please do not call your cable co. I wish I would have recorded that.

Yes! The USA Transmission Test, if I remember right this was seen in the afternoon (top of 11 am or noon hours)?

I remember it was around 12 noon. Sometimes it would be for a minutes, but a few times, it was like a whole hour. That was the good ole days.
