Personally, the only element I like of this beat is the chorus piano... Other than that, the bass sounds a bit messed and isn't within the chord structure of either piano or strings. The A&R must have pushed real hard for that placement on Kelly Rowland's album! The beat's just an average beat for me by anyone's standards.

They use Cubase to sequence I think..

They use the Motif as a midi controller and they use vsts

we use Sonar 7.0 for sequencing everything, and reason rewired into the sonar for drums. all the sounds come from VSTs loaded up in sonar. Fruityloops is good way to start.
