  • i saw them live on there tour in australia man it was good!

    ginger is hot as well

    : D

  • It was an absolutely brilliant gig but I was really disappointed with the reaction of the crowd. I was at the front barriers of the pit and next to a guy who barley moved for the gig, I was going insane and singing along with every song, he was probably deaf after standing next to me but I don't care! Pumpkins are amazing!

  • I went to this concert and being a 14 year old boy, in the pit at my first concert with my best friends waz just the night of my life!!! Pumpkins 4ever!!!

  • Thats a cool memory to have, the Pumpkins were my first concert too :)

  • i can just imagine that from Billy's point of view: the whole mosh pit just swaying in time to the song :P

  • Arrived in at 8 n still managed to blag my way into the pit! :)

FANTASTIC show, looking forward to the next one.

  • i was basically right beside you! saw them again last nite in frankfurt completely diff atmosphere. it was so calm and no one sang with the band kinda dissapointing! but it was still a great gig!

  • I was first in the Q

  • we at least we can say we saw THE BILLY CORGAN an THE JIMMY C live

  • meh suit yourself

  • the whole thing was brilliant!! the sound everything!! so your tellin me you paid sixty euro to see them and decided you didnt like it

  • not getting negative or nothing but that was my first pumpkins concert and it mightn't have lived up to the others for the old skool fans cause it wasnt the real pumpkins!!! no james iha or d'arcy...still though it was savage!!!

  • and yes i see the stupidity of replying to my own comment.......twice

  • ur a moron

  • I think I know why there's alot of people here saying the gig was utopia, class, etc...they haven't been to any other Pumpkins gigs! The standard they've set through previous gigs is the reason a lot of the old skool fans went home disappoined

  • I saw them in '94 (last half of their set, they were just the support), 98 and 2000, I thought last weekends gig was far better than the machina gig. Though that being said, I was obviously in the pit and so cut off from the majority of the crowd, if the atmosphere out there wasn't as great as it was in the pit, and I was there Im sure I'd have thought less of it too.

  • I didn't get in the pit. I was about 10 people away in the queue from getting a pass ! :(

I saw them in '98 too.Totally different atmosphere tehre but then again that was a seated show. I have to say that gig had one of the worst atmosphere of all the gigs I have been to but I did not let it get me down.

I have been a fan since Siamese Dream so regardless of the "drones" beside me I still rocked out and had a brilliant time. Managing to feic up my ankle is the process.

  • Good for you :)

Yeah the '98 gig was really unusual to me, I've never been to a seated gig before or since, but I still loved it

  • 76steve76... the pit was utopia!!!!!!! it was class! but ya there was hardly any gish stuff and no disarm too..:( but billy was so great when he did loads of little funnythings

  • The setlist was a little odd at times though, wasnt it? I personally felt that there was a bit too many recent B-sides and other lesser known songs that flew by the crowd, and didnt get half as much hysteria as the album tracks everybody knows and loves. This was evident in the latter half of the gig-and thats where the likes of Zero,Disarm, and I am One were needed and missed. Dont get me wrong-I loved the gig- it was sheer magic. But there was a few lulls here and there.

  • ya i know what you mean...the didnt play zero which was a big dissapointment...maybe its cause its a song billy didnt write?

  • No that isn't the reason, because they played Zero several times last year, including both the times I saw them. I guess Billy just wants to change the setlist around and showcase differnet songs.

  • BEST GIG OF MY LIFE.

  • i can see my head:)tee hee:)What a gig!!

  • Unbelievable!! I was in the pit at the top!! i was ready to pass out but no way was i movin from my spot lol

  • Yeay! Check out 1979 on my channel! Pumpkins Rule!

  • Whoever stole my hat and American Splendor at that show is a dick!!

  • Missing them already.... :( Brilliant show!

  • He has to be the only guy who could look sexy in that skirt ;]

    Great gig!

  • that was the best gig i have ever gone too! i loved it! i felt like i was so close to billy corgan that i could touch him! you must have been pretty close to me! and screw that colemaneoghan guy! he probobly doesnt even knnow how to enjoy himself whne he's high on drugs so errrrr to him!

    lovage!

  • Myself and 6 other Pumpkins fans went to the gig last night. I dunno if its the same gig you guys were at, coz every single person we talked to afterwards were as disappointed as ourselves. Two and a half hours of stop start disjointed music, a really odd set list that found it hard to keep the audience with them and they got lost a lot concentrating on the intros and extros instead of the songs. By the end, most had lost interest...and what's with no Zero? Loved 1979 accoustic though, quality.

  • no way the concert last night in the rds was fucking amzing!!! were you in the pit?

  • yes it was amazing!!!!!! the pit took up about half the crowd tho...but i still cried during tonight tonight it was so fucking good!!

  • aw man you had to be in the pit to enjoy it fully!!

  • u keep mentioning this pit as if it were utopia, the point is, as countless others said, the setlist was pretty weak, the "jam" for 15 minutes at the end was a bit much, the sound varied depending on where u were there( when it was good yeah it was great) the crowd were non responsive to a lot of it, i think billy himself said he would play a lot longer but he would bore us,again down to the setlist.how can they play nothng of gish?drown half made up for it,average show but enjoyable.

  • sorry i mean you had to be at the front of the pit cause there people fucking loved it!!! i agree he did draw it out a bit and i was kinda thinking wrap it up billy towards the end but i mean come on!!! i suppose the setlist wasnt mighty but who cares!!!

  • oh ok beacuse u were close to the stage and it was the smashing pumpkins, for those to reasons it had to be amazing??regardless of anything else?sound?, songs?, atmosphere in the other 90% of the arena?

    thats what ur saying.

    whatever

  • I agree, the gig was average at best. Did anyone notice how many people were leaving before the gig was even over??

  • Twadn't average...twas deadly..

  • they didnt leave because it was crap, they left because they were tired[couldnt stand any longer because they were hammered!!]

  • The reason they didnt play Zero was because last time they were in Ireland, in 2000, a girl died when they played that song.

  • The girl died in 1996, but that is why they don't play it here anymore as far as I know.

  • ohright wrong date, by bad. but yeah same reason

  • I was at that gig with my cousin, it was in 1996 and it was during Bullet With Butterfly Wings that the incident with Bernadette O'Brien happened. He called off the gig after that...Still cant' figure out wh no Zero, apparently he hasn't played it on a few of their gigs

  • Huh thats weird, I always assumed it was Zero because that was the last time they played the song in Dublin

  • best gig ever!!!!!!!

  • fucking best gig EVER!!! i was up front row in the pit with my brother!!!! it was utterly amazing!!! like three hours no bullshit 90's rocking!!!! but i wanna know something did everyone get pit passes?

  • Just most of the ppl there before 6.30 I think

  • i was there.wat are pit passes?

  • They let you closer to the stage.

  • thanks

  • the orange bands? those were the pit passes...they let you into the mosh pit

  • it was pretty average to be fair and honest.with all respect u must have been v drunk or to many big shows.

  • Well if you thought it was average thats a shame, but I thought it was fantastic and I didn't drink at all nor do I normally go to big shows.

I loved that they played lesser known songs, I would have hated a "greatest hits" style gig.

The band seemed in great form, and I still laugh when I recall Billy doing jazz hands to "my blue heaven", wish I had recorded that :P

  • WHAT A GIG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a Brilliant Gig! When I heard the inro to this song I nearly shat myself! Unbelievable!

  • Fantastic gig! That was one of my highlights of the night!

    Thanks for uploading this! :D

  • Mine too, I got really lucky, I just decided whatever the next song was, was going to be the one I recorded, and it turned out to be Lily! :D

  • almost three hours what a show! Billy you legend!
