  • Oh man I remember this... and then as the NWA and WWF blew up they had to change to another theme song. Always hated the RNR express. Love the Road Warriors, in the AWA, and the Midnight Express... But these guys were indeed over in the mid 80's... And definitely predated the Midnight Rockers.. Although neither of them could hold a candle to HBK...

  • i bet the Rockers of the old WWF had a great influence of the R-n-R express

  • @TheTechnoa The Rockers started their gimmick before they made it to WWF as promoters of the territories wanted their own version of the R-N-R Express

  • My dad used to take me to the matches whenever they came to Charlotte - they are AWESOME entertainers. Thx for the footage!!!

  • the first wrestling match i ever seen i was 6 years old and it was the R&R express vs a nobody team but i was hooked ever since thanks

  • This is better than their Memphis video, but still cheesy, especially the shots of them singing the song to you. They're like that drunk redneck who feels the need to sing the words to you at a concert because he assumes you aren't hip to their true depth & meaning. Lucklily, the Express' ring ability compensated for these silly promos. OTOH, the clip's not all bad - Jim Cornette does get pie-faced.... I wonder where they found a promoter willing to pay for the rights to use the song?

  • What tag titles are they wearing in this vid?...Are they the Mid-South 1s?...Or another territorys?...

  • @jerzeefranky3475 Yep its the Mid-South tag titles

  • I saw this when i was like 10 yrs old! and thought they were awsome! LOL ... iremember the double drop kick!!

  • I saw this when i was like 10 yrs old! and thought they were awsome! LOL

  • The Rock N Roll Express is my favorite tag team of all time.

  • That second double dropkick made me spit out my vodka cranberry.... ; )

  • There is no way this video can't bring a smile to your face, especially if you're a child of the 80's. Both nostalgic and enormously cheesy. Cutting edge video tech of the day. Love the boom box, mullets, multi-colors, classic Kiss, and pro wrestling. Outstanding.

  • Rock and Roll Express sucks balls.Sure they were good back in the 80's but times have changed, now they are both just a bunch of old farts.

  • @KnightRyder316 they are pushing 50 you stupid ass. They did real "rassli'n" back then not talk for 3 hours like they do now. Show some respect MeatRyder.

  • @residentgomez And you better do something better than namecalling you fucking asshole.Fuck you.

  • they looked like rodies for def lepard!!!

  • @arkie74 I agree, but I would love to see Joe Elliot and Rick Savage throw a double drop kick.

  • @kevindwb that would be some funny shit!!

  • Throw a dropkick and another dropkick, rock n roll did more than that. They were cool. I was a fan. They did a lot for small workers in general. They got noticed It was Ricky"s team. Ricky talked it and walked it. Robert looked like Elvis.

  • @1981CrueHead Two of the best sellers in the buisness no doubt.I wouldn't call it Ricky's team though.Yes he walked, and talked.Robbert did look like Elvis. But they both worked equaly as hard in the ring.

  • @kevindwb I think Robert is very shy.

  • @kevindwb I think Robert is very shy. I don't think he ever trusted his own skills enough to be confident in front of the camera etc. So all he did was go out there and work.

  • Holy shit. I laughed my ass off at 2:05 .

  • The most influential tag team of all time. They brought a new style of tag team wrestling to America. They managed to become huge draws despite being smaller workers in the big man and technical, by the numbers body part era of tag team wrestling. The Rock N Roll Express style of smaller workers and fast paced wrestling paved the way for teams like the Hardy's, Edge and Christian, Young Bucks, Motor City Machine Guns and so forth.

  • Great old school video. When WRESLING meant something. THANKS!!

  • im siting next to robert gibson (my uncle)

  • @rune143 - LOL!!! What I wouldn't have given to be sitting next to him :) Back in the day, I was one of the "teenyboppers" and would have given anything just to be that mat :)

  • Did they steal the BOOMBOX gimmick from "Rock & Roll" Buck ZumHofe!!? Search Buck ZumHofe here on you tube. He started the BOOMBOX gimick in Wrestling.

  • @DahcS If memory serves me correctly. This video hit Memphis and Mid South before ZoomHofe went RockNRoll.

  • This has to be the corniest video of all time.

The Midnight Express owned them in the NWA.

  • ricky has lost his family, and his income.

but he still has the mullet

  • @Bkamlem i still think they looked like rodies for def lepard!!!

  • Saw this as a kid too. They were hugh for NWA b/t 85-87. Place went nuts for them as soon as the music started. Flair said in his book RnR got more ladies then anyone.

  • Wow, they're hip.

  • I remember seeing this video when I was a kid! Man I'm old! lol.

  • @scottrod1974

i was just thinking the same bout myself...i remember this vid on channel 54 during WCW

  • @scottrod1974: I guess that makes me a senior citizen then. LOL!

  • so this is were the rockers got there Idea from

  • ya basically

  • I really think Joe Dirt was modeled after Ricky Morton

  • this video is wonderful and hilarious
