Hi, I recognize voice of Ustad Sarahang but I this piece for some reason sounds different. I guess I am not the only one who has this problem. Thanks for the reply.

Sharif was obviously an imitator of Sarahang. He listened to his ustad in singing in this way in their training sessions and modulated his own voice to sound like it.

on the second thought, this sounds like sharif ghazal.

This is pure bass voice. Sharif's is more of a tenor and closer to a soprano. Rendition and style is probably similar.
