  • what is rubbish and dribble?

  • ugh love this version of the movie stil awesomer of all the rest i can say realy want to have this on dvd gonna miss whitney houston an he rmusic

  • i saw a version of this where the stepsisters were played by men. it was absolutely brilliant! the whole time, they had these high voices, except for when they sang "darling i love you," they reverted back to their manly voices. it was hilarious

  • This Is The [Best] Version Of Cinderella. ♥

  • I love this show, this is my favorite version of Cinderella.

  • Got the prince in my schools production of this

  • I have a part in this for my school musical im cinderella!! :D im soo sicked

  • I could totally get into the role of a Wicked Step! Sister, Mother...whatever!

  • Grew up watching this movie on a semi-nightly basis:D ♥♥

  • j adore

  • this is literally my whole childhood. <3

  • Not gonna lie, being a stepsister looks SOOO much more fun!!!

  • i am currently in this production and i play a stepsister and i love it!!!!!

  • @chinesegirl97 we're doing this play for our spring musical too!! Auditions aren't until the 30th though.

  • this song has got to be one of my favorite songs in this film. :)

  • to think..this is an R&H written film..if this has been done in the 40's my gawd..it would've been fantastic.

  • @XBreezyBooX it IS fantastic...

  • @XBreezyBooX it was first done in the 60's. it was still amazing then

  • @TheAKAtivist the first version was with Julie Andrews in 1956. It was in black and white, but this is the best

  • I was born the year this was brought out! lol

I watched it last year for the first time, I'm addicted to these songs!

  • If you were a child when this came out and you haven't seen it, your parents didn't love you.

  • sometime the best things in the world people know little about

  • hahaha in a low voice 'darling I love you!'

  • @KrissaayyyX3 I can see why because all the feelings and emotions you are feeling when you are dancing with someone you really like. You feel like he is your Prince Charming even though there is no such thing as a Prince Charming but in your imagination it is fun to imagine it. I had that experience my junior year of high school and I rank it as one of the best nigthts of my life. I hope you have a night like that because the feeling is indescribable.

  • Haha! The step-sisters are too funny.

  • @rephead hands down they are the best step sisters EVER.

  • April 24,2010, the night I danced with my Prince Charming.

  • i used to love this version when i was little <33

  • for some reason me and my best friend knows this movie and our other friends dont. i guess thats why we're best friends!!! ^__^

  • You know what I notice everytime I see this scene? The stepsisters actually seem to be very nice and the stepmother is just totally rude. Lol :) in other movies, the stepsisters are usually just as mean as the stepmother but in this movie, the stepmother is really the only one you notice really being mean to cinderella in this scene.

  • looking at this the mother looks younger then the stepsisters

    thumbs up if u agree

  • @aajuicygirl That's because Bernadette never ages. XD

  • love this movie i can remember it like it was yesterday...my baby was 3 an couldnt go to sleep without it lol..shes now 15 an still love it....

  • Love it. Am 22. I know every song. every. A lovely night.

  • my school is producing this as our sprong musical! auditions are in 2 weeks!! im so excited!!!!

  • @shannycakes13 good luck! my theater company is doing it too and i got the role of the stepsister :D its so much fun

  • I love how the two top comments pretty much contradict each other.

  • j'adore ce film. Il est génial!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if you didnt see this as a child, you had no childhood!! <3

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE! CHECK OUT MY VERSION OF THIS SONG ITS SO AMAZING!

  • As much as I love the costuming, casting (especially Bernadette Peters and Paolo Montalban), and art of this version, the 1965 one will always be my favorite.

  • Did anyone else get scared as a kid around 2:49 and think that the stepmother figured out that Cinderella was at the ball?

  • @KyliesMCJ I'm pretty sure she did... so yes :)

  • @maam2012hm LoL! I didn't realize it as a kid.

  • @KyliesMCJ i sure did!!!!

  • watching this movie right now :)

  • cinderellla will always be my favorite moive . i still remeber watching the Carttoon verison of the moive because that was the Frist moive but i was inpressed by everyone one who plays cinderllea Frist hilary duff and brandy and selena gomez and lucy hale how many times are they going to remake the moive cause when i become famous i wanna be in a moive like this

  • i rather prefer this version to Walt Disney's. i feel bad saying that because Walt Disney has churned out many classic films, including Cinderella. But i really enjoyed watching all the cast of Rodgers and Hammerstein's remake. i grew up on both versions of the film, but i rather enjoy that this one is an enjoyable musical. i like musicals.

  • @samantharobillard I also prefer this version of Walt Disney's. Walt created some very dark and harsh moments in the 1950 film like the stepsisters tearing the dress that the mice made to shreds and the palace guards chasing after Cinderella at midnight. I don't think the step-family is as abusive as the 1950 film. Lady Tremaine, the stepmother from Walt's version, acted like she was Satin's daughter. Bernadette portrayed the character as an unkind person but not an EVIL person.

  • @entertainer1987 agreed...Bernadette's version is cold but she's not cruel the way Lady Tremaine was...and besides, Bernadette can make almost anyone likeable lol

  • 2:30 DARLING, I LOVE YOU. *man voice* xD

  • I love how you can just see her realising that Cinderella was at the ball. Bernadette Peters didn't need that camera zoom, her face showed it all. Marvelous, simply marvelous. :)

  • i love the song but she cant sing

  • This music is superb!!! I know every song off this movie! LOL

  • I just want to point out. Everyones freaking out about the families. What i noticed is...no Mexicans.

  • @itsrandomfriends Lionel is supposed to be Latino.

  • @TheWitchWay THANK YOU. I've been wondering that since i was 5!!!!! im 15 now.. :$ awks.

  • The step-sisters aren't so bad they're actually kinda nice but the step-mother is still evil

  • I love how close they are to actually being a happy family in this scene. :)

  • you never had a childhood if you'd never seen this! ;)

  • @hello31231 i have seen this film 10 times and i love the film

  • @TheWitchWay .... I just always assumed that the king and queen adopted...

  • I first saw the Rogers and Hammerstein's version with Lesley Anne Warren. Great even then. Its a simple production but very effective for such an old movie. Great that R&H's music translates across the ages.

  • i looked up "brandy's cinderella songs" nd it brought me to all tha songs tht were in this movie. i listened to all of it... if gives me a peace of mind tht mi childhood is still remembered, tht tha 90's memories r still here. VHS's, lol corny songs, lessons/ morals in it, etc. i miss it !!! :))

  • This is an awesome song i love this movie i wish we didnt lose the VHS

  • @BBlover33566

They have it on DVD at Taget.com. I'm buying it cuz my tape broke, i watched it so much!

  • It gives me chills to hear Bernadette yell at her daughter!!:)

  • Brandy is cool

  • Why is it that when I talk about this version of Cinderella, people have never heard of it?

  • @MonsoonWinds6 because cinderella is black and people don't like that because they SUCK, i LOVE this version

  • @MonsoonWinds6 same i prefer this to any other and my mates are like WTF you talking bout ! , ive still got it on Video haha

  • This was my favorite movie when I was little. Me and my mum would watch it almost every night together, I haven't seen it in forever tho I can't find it anywhere.

  • @TheWitchWay and also that race does not matter.

  • @TheWitchWay, but then you get a whole lot of people wondering why an asian kid has a white father and a black mother. LOL.

  • @TheWitchWay :D ♥ !! lol

  • @TheWitchWay Oh my God, thank you for that. >_< I hate when people ask.

  • @TheWitchWay Fuck off Bitch ass nigga

  • You say goodbye away you fly , But on your lips you keep a kiss , All your life you'll dream of this lovely LOVELY NIGHT!!!

  • Actually, the fact that their racial utopia exists is to emphasize the distance from reality...

but still, using a very diverse cast was interesting! I mean most movies still have caucasian female leads.

  • i wanna belive in fairytales so bad becuz of this movies but i cant becuz i know tht its all fake..or is it??

  • @ilikebuta I believe in them kinda. I tell my friends; I want to be a princess. Well one of my friends told me I was a princess. I asked her "Where is my prince Charming then?" she replied "Looking for his princess"

So I do believe that one day I will meet my prince charming. But he won't just come to my door and sweep me away. But I know that with the help of my Fairy Godmothers (My friends) that I will find my prince and we will live Happily Ever After. <3 (:

  • omg i luv the stepmothers dress and i luv this song i always dance and sing to it all the time i luv it it is one one my fav parts yay :)

  • Why does this give me chills...=)lol

  • ohmuhfuckingod! I could cry because of Bernadette; shes so fucking perfect at EVERYTHING she does, even if the production itself was a fail. I can't believe that since i was 0 my favorite character was the step mother, this was my favorite song& i knew all the words. She was always just the step-mother to me, now that I'm 13 she is Bernadette Fucking Peters (: -3333333

  • This movie make me wanna believe in fairytales and happy endings...perfect movie to watch when ur upset.!

  • I love how they are acting like she isn't a slave. until the stepmom ruins it! -.-

  • OH MY GOD...THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES GROWING UP..I FORGOT ALL ABOUT IT

  • Respond to this video... When I was little I thought the stepmom recognized her from her scalp...Cause they like zoom in on it...Hehe. xD

  • @TheWitchWay True. But it's also cause the parents are hilarious and the son has an amazing voice and they're all great actors. =D Soo..hehe.

  • its so funny because this movie came out in '97 so i was about 6 and i can remember watching and LOVING this movie and i never realized the random races of the characters until i was older...lol

  • Has anyone else noticed that the King is white, the Queen is black, and the son is Korean? I didn't think it worked that way....

  • @RoonilWazlib101 That's what I love about musicals: a white man and a black woman can share there lives together, and no one is bothered by this or that their son is Filipino.

  • @RoonilWazlib101 Well maybe he was ADOPTED! haha :)

  • ahhhhhhh ; bernadette -3333 lalalalala. I love how he got so into the song ; lmfaoooo! & Then realized what she was doing. No one could capture this role better than her ; shes my hero-33 (: id go gay.

  • @bluemoonblackrose @bluemoonblackrose I gave you a thumbs up because for one, you're completely right. and for two, no truer words were ever spoken.
