Why, just 'Avenged Sevenfold' is a metal band? Where the fuck is the 'I can kick any bands ass' in the genre of metal? Green Day formed when Guns N' Roses did and have already accomplished so much.

@Junkpunker21 they're not 'just a metal band.' you obviously don't know them if you just put them in a genre. a7x writes songs in many different genres, because they're all freakishly talented. green day has been writing the same shit for idk how many years now, while every song on an a7x album sounds completely different from the last. it's called 'creativity.'

I may not know 'A7X' so much, but what you just said also means you know very little about Green Day. You know less about Green Day than I know less about A7X.

Green Day has over a dozen albums and have been playing all sorts of songs ever since 1987. How could you say they play the same 'shit' all the time? They have over 200 songs - you can't say they write the 'same shit' if you've only listened to about a quarter of their songs. They write stuff no one else can. It's called 'originality'.

More than half of Green Day songs sound the same and are based around an uncreative and lazy 3-4 chord structure with the same pop bubble gum hook and "punk rock" image. You can't possibly call Green Day original. Not to flame a genre, but Punk rock isn't the most original or creative genre. Sure, they've completely sold out and have become a pop band, but that doesn't make them 'original' by any means.

You don't have a complex way of playing music to get the people to relate. Green Day is a little more than that and that's why they have fans.

If you think they only play chords, try listening to the solo of 'The Judge's Daughter' - that's Chuck Berry influence right there.

I actually disagree.. I only like one song from that line-up. 'New Divide' by Linkin Park. I personally have a really bad dislike for The Frey, Theory of a Dead Man, Taking Back Sunday and Avenged Sevenfold. But thats just my opinion.
