  • There was no government censorship of reports from Vietnam. That's one reason experts think the American public turned against the war. The U.S. military has censored TV news reports on every military action since.

  • This is a kinescoped compilation of 1965-'66 Vietnam War reports, as seen on "THE CBS EVENING NEWS WITH WALTER CRONKITE", "THE HUNTLEY-BRINKLEY REPORT", and "PETER JENNINGS WITH THE NEWS", as those were the major "nightly news" shows on the air at the time. Most Americans who saw these "officially approved" reports had no idea how the war was REALLY going, until early 1968.
