When I have a bad day, I watch one of these videos about earth. I then instantly remember how beautiful our planet and lives are, and I feel happy again :)
@withholeyshoes1 If I'm not mistaken, I think we're covered by 72% water on the Earth's surface. "We know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the bottom of our oceans."

jonesy97,..I may be back i;m if can contribute to sorting out the mess. meanwhile, three's few who are reach out to you and me..damn shame they're forced to remain literal....they don' sweat it tho. flow
@FoxBatinaHat The earth's surface is still 47% wilderness,30% of that is forested and cities take up 2% while fields and agricultural land take up 46% so there's still quite alot left :)
Anyone who can answer: when astronauts look at the earth through the iss window; does it feel like they look down on earth, up on earth, or neither? I mean, up/down doesn't make much sense in microgravity right?
@paulasbrito1 Nope, you're wrong. Most of the Africa is like that... except RPA and few other places, Egypt for example. Here is similar fly path over this region... no lights watch?v=2sjbrADM8oo
@FsimulatorX define Ancient times. Your proabaly talking about human history right? Wonder what this rock looked like before humans, say 2 million years ago, or before it inhibited life even. Another good question to ponder would be where all this matter on this planet came from... im sure it was something else before. songs over but i could go for spins around the sun ;) oh life, nevermind lifes a small part of whatever is in existance, whatever were experience is amazing. ps fucking smoke weed
Great footage. Although mostly night shots, didnt really see much green. Looks like a beautiful infection of our planet. Save a tree and maybe it'll be worth a billion $ by the next century... lol
This video is simply FANTASTIC ! I must tell you that our Italian TV, during a news program, they broadcast a short piece of this beauty ! CONGRATULATIONS !
Way, way higher. The ISS only orbits around 150-300 miles up. Communication satellites, GPS and most of that stuff is thousands of miles out- some as far away as 25k. The ISS orbits low enough that there is still some atmospheric drag on the vehicle.
I respond to very few videos. This was amazing to watch. The beauty of the "Dark Side" is captivating, especially the Aurora views. Thanks for the post

@TheLasVegasElite I am not sure it's exaggerated. Look at other videos on youtube of Earth seen from space at night and you will find that the lights from particularly the cities of Europe and USA are quite distinct. That's why it's so damn hard to find a spot without light pollution in these areas. Being an amateur astronomer nowadays can be trying if you want a clear nightsky without disturbance from city lights at all. Heck, I can't even see the Milkyway where I live:(
