The effect of "God" as big brother is that of an all seeing character, personified through religious indoctrination. Once the masses have agreed to the general benchmark for morality stipulated by this God/bigB they proceed to police themselves. The CIA & FBI are pawns, executive branches for this god/BigB, whos aim is to restore order, justice and protection for the body in power behind the "Hoarding" or "Telescreen" using the concept of morality & law, which are often falsely made synonymous.

Amusing, but clearly shows you missed the point.

Point is: Big brother, according to Orwells description (he coined the term "Big Brother" FYI) was the idea that GOD is ultimate surveillance.

Government agencies (such as CIA), now commonly referred to as "big brother" are mere extensions of the surveillance myth.

Morality & Law enforced through surveillance & fear are the result of institutionalized religion. GOD (big brother being a metaphor) is the 1984 exemplary method of mass control.

did you even read the book? there was on institutionalized religion it was all done away with by big brother, unless your argument is that big brother is somehow set up as a god? which is an interesting argument but in the book big brother does not claim to be god

For anyone who wasn't intelligent enough to make the quite obvious connection: Big brother is "God" (Religion)

God is infallible & all powerful every success, every victory...all knowledge, all wisdom, all happiness, all virtue are held to issue directly from his leadership, his inspiration. no one has ever seen god, he is a face on the hoarding a voice on the telescreen. we may be reasonably sure that he will never die. his function is to act as a focusing point for love fear & reverence etc.
