@th3Bl00dfu3l3d You can knock a hole in them, but they wont actually come out that way. it will just smash a hole through thats all, but it might give it a unique sound. I would try it then start it and if you like the sound leave it. if it sounds weird, then cut it out.
@Vaish57 I usually get about 70 miles before the fuel light comes on. that means i burnt 2 gallons with a gallon left. on backroads just cruisin real slow i can get little more.
i just remove the baffles on my 2011 48! did you have to reflash or have it tuned? some one shoot me a text .209-423-7650 so i dont do any long term damage to me brand new bike thanks
Your bike, you do what you want, it's hardly structural ! Lookin forward to part two and the acid test but not as much as I'm hangin out for my orange version to arrive here in Oz in December. After 20 plus years of a 69 and mostly a 74 Bonnie, it'll be my first hogly and having had a decent test flog on a demo courtesy of the lovely crew at Gold Coast Harley, I know I've made the right decision. Now onto your second vid on noisemaking . . . . . love your work !!!
i took my pipes off and just used a handle of a floorjack and a hammer. rested the pipe on its end on a two by four. didnt hurt the chrome at all. eventually got the slip on drag pipes from j&p cycles for less than 200. i modified those baffles and it sounds superb. better than just knockin the baffle plugs outta the stock..
Otherwise youd be doin yardwork or some shit. HA, thats hilarious! I dont think its a bad idea, cutting the baffles out. But why not just get aftermarket pipes?
Definitely getting after market pipes is the preferable option. Especially if you need to be stock again for the law someday. But pipes are 500 bucks, and a Harley just has to be loud ya know...
ea piss off funny

@th3Bl00dfu3l3d Il parle,il parle et il parle encore mais il n'y a pas de bruit,mieux vaut laisser parler la moto mais pas le motard.

@clacksayte you can't do permanent damage from removing baffles but you should get a fuel tuner. Watch out for naysayers on youtube.

@leestratton1
I've read countless articles from reliable sources that say doing this does nothing and doesn't make it run lean
It's when you do both ends that you need a fuel pak or w/e the one you get is called

I have a 2 foot long drill bit, I drilled mine out before I replaced with vance and hines, after drilling them out it sounded 100 times better!

Does cutting the baffles out void the warranty on that bike?
RBDawking76 1 year ago
@RBDawking76 . I don't know. My guess is yes. But it is somewhat counter-intuitive because i think some aftermarket pipes do not void it.

Aftermarket pipes are much more louder than modified stock pipes. Very good option.

@leestratton1
2 sets of slip ons would cover you there
put the ones with the baffles still in it on for inspection then switch em back when you get home hehe
