I just realised, this bloke is in some pretty awesome stuff and has given incredible performances. He was Jake Sully in Avatar, he was Perseus in Clash of the Titans, Marcus Wirght in Terminator Salvation (this film) and he's recently done the voice acting for Alex Mason in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
I REMEMBER that when I was in Atlanta, Georgia from 1995 to1997 I used to DYE my hair RED/ORANGE and used noticeable makeup, now my hair is dark which is the original color and has some grays on it so from from sort of CLAIRE DANES, the actress of TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, I now look like SAM WORTHINGTON who acted in TERMINATOR SALVATION and AVATAR.
actually the real star chuck was to afraid to correct sam on, is christian bale. marcus is now dead in the movie, and bale has at least 2 terminator films left... poor interview
Sam's character Marcus was not the main character, no. But in my opinion he played his part the best. I was excited when he popped into the scene, and disappointed when I found out he had to what he had to do, there in the end of the film. He stole the movie. Terrific, terrific actor.

Worthington has only made two blockbusters and a streak of mediocre TV-flicks, while Bale has an acclaimed movie career spanning over 20 years including both independent and high-budget movies. Those who have seen Empire of the Sun, All the Little Animals, Metroland, Velvet Goldmine, American Psycho, Rescue Dawn, The Machinist, Batman, etc, etc, knows that Worthington's NO match for Christian Bale. And his dedication to his craft with all those weight-fluctuations and accents...need I say more?
@MadHatter13MarchHare I totally agree, I love Christian Bales movies. But with less films under his belt I think Sam Worthington's acting skills are up to par with Bale's...And Sam Worthington DID totally steal the show in "Salvation". They should have called it "Marcus Wright".

It was sam's turn this time. this was his first major movie. everyone wanted to see what he could do. but i agree, he definitely delivered a fabulous performance. he's one of my favorite actors now.
Bale is a humorless pre madonna who appears to believe that a burrowed brow combined with a feigned ( and often ridiculous ) deep voice constitutes "acting".
Worthington has an everyday "guy next door" likeability, but he doesn't have the charisma or gravitas of a fully fledged movie star - certainly not in comparison to Russel Crowe, for example.
@Beor88 Bale is definitely one of the best character actors ever. Worthington is great though. He hasn't yet been able to show off his abilities in the quantity Bale has. Although I don't see Sam doing half the crazy shit Bale does. Both are great no matter who is better or not.
Terminator Salvation SUCKED. It was one of those movies where they just special effects you to death, hoping the terrible acting (Bale) and the lack of a plot don't turn you off.

Yeah I think Sam Worthington is great in this film, he makes the character his own. You really feel for his character which is what I like. At the end I was like, "No! dont give Connor your heart man? You can have that hot babe, and settle down, live for a good few hundred years. Connors only gonna die anyway."
i find it hard to watch bale when his voice is like that. the best thing about the movie is that we got the first glimps of a new action movie actor they seem to be a dieing breed latly

I didn't know he was an Australian until I searched it up on the net. But I swear to God that I heard hints of Australian accents on his voice when I saw Avatar. I thought he was just lisping or something. But then, I was right. He's a hot Aussie!
I never heard of Sam Worthington before Terminator and I actually just saw Terminator a couple days ago. Then, I saw Avatar yesterday. He impressed me so much in both movies!
I also think he MADE terminator. Overall, he's a great actor.
Sam Worthington has impressed me with both Terminator and AVATAR.
I wasn't expecting Worthington to take the lead in Terminator, I'm a huge Bale fan and was wonderfully shocked by the surprise that Bale was the left in Worthington's dust.
Christian Bale's acting was the only thing i really didn't like about the movie. Which is a shame, because he's actually a good actor, but apparently he's eternally stuck using the Batman voice
I've been a long time fan of the Terminator films, and also of Christian Bale, so going into this movie I wasn't expecting this (at the time) unknown actor and character to steal the show... which Marcus, Sam, totally did. He really impressed me, and has continued to do so.
Sorry Sam, the machines are bad ass and all, but I'ma have to disagree... at least for my part, Marcus was the star. Label me "ignorant and stupid" if you like, I'm down with that. lol =P
Samone stole Christian Bale's thunder...hahaha!! Worthington doesn't need to change his voice or scream to show he has acting chops ,he only needs talent.

I've been a long time fan of the Terminator films, and also of Christian Bale, so going into this movie I wasn't expecting this (at the time) unknown actor and character to steal the show... which Marcus, Sam, totally did. He really impressed me, and has continued to do so.
Sorry Sam, the machines are bad ass and all, but I'ma have to disagree... at least for my part, Marcus was the star. Label me "ignorant and stupid" if you like, I'm down with that. lol =P
