@Amazinglybeastified that is good. Note, they will look like they are just following the path, but they will avoid you and other ai cars if set in the AI controller. You can also update the path offset so the cars don't look so straight on the path, to give it some randomness.
@screenracer the car literally follows the same path as mine.. by that i mean when i drive my car it does the same turns at the same time and all that.. i want it to follow a set course or chase me or dodge me or something but im not sure how to make it do that
@Amazinglybeastified you have to go on the car that will follow the path and uncheck boxes: Throttle, Reverse, Turn Left, Right and if you checked the box brake uncheck it :) hope i helped you :)
Every car can have an AI component added to them to define behaviors. Such as in this video, I created a path the the cars follow, but they also try to avoid other car while driving this path based on what values I enter. The AI can also chase or avoid something based on what you set them to do. 3D Rad's racing logic is outstanding, and it is very fun to mess around with.
We are in the process of working on this game. We are going to enter it into game contest that is coming up. I am sure we wont win, but this helps create a release time line goal for us.
If your talking about the toon looking edges version: What you do is extrude a copy of the surface slightly and and invert the surface. Then apply black to it. Because the mesh is one sided, cover by an inverted black surface, it looks like it has an outline around it.
how to do AI follow the path? i am trying it but it dont work

when i ad wheels the spin around other wheels or te car spin around the wheels!

In the car documents it shows how to do this in more detail. But all you need to do is middle mouse click the wheel, then attach the skinmesh.

i wanna ask something.... do the cars really have AI (path finiding) or do they just follow a pre-made path?

Hey I was wondering what you made the truck and track on.
Nascar1555 2 years ago
As in how did I make the truck, or how did I make this game?
GhostFindersUS 2 years ago
What program you made the truck on
Nascar1555 2 years ago
I used 3d studio max 9. But you could use gmax to create the same thing, exporting to the 3D Rad Engine.
screenracer 2 years ago
It said this when I tried to export it can not determine file --- export cancelled.
Nascar1555 2 years ago
And just to let you know I am using Gmax
I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Over on the 3d rad forums is a step by step on how to export out of GMAX. :)

Awesome, this reminds me alot of that old n64/gb game called off-road challenge, it would be a sweet remake of it.
