In front with our chest to the stage at the Golden west Ballroom we saw them open for Rick Derringer. We were floored by the bad -ass Texas boogie stuff, I liked them better than the main act ! Sorry Rick !
that's 3 of the originals (of 5) looks like Dallas' Deep Ellum district. Lots of shit happening down there. They're touring over seas now, too. I know a couple of 'em
Potliquor was BR's own signature Band in the 70's. They recorded several records, don't know how many exactly but they would tour with REO & Brownsville Station. Good band,. I enjoyed them. It was always a sell out in BR when they played.
Oh My God, I just posted on another video for smeone to PLEASE put it on!! I LOVE that song and I can't find it anywhere. If I locate it I will share with ya.
10-4 saltoftheearth, These guys rock, the one that has been stuck in my head for 20 years is "so wrong to cry". I wish someone would post that one. My albums are in storage; might have to dig them out. Rock on Po8nt Blank!!
I saw them at Midland College's Chaparral Center in 1980 on the Hard Way tour... never forgot them, still have their LP in a closet somewhere.. that live version of "Thank You Mama" played in my head for 25 years... wow
Saw them in Providence back when I was in college... Kim Davis was playing with them then...2nd cousin...Kim played with SRV in stevie's first band in Dallas...they opened for zz.. and Kim and Rusty and Billy G. and I played guitar until 3 am in the Holiday Inn after tge show 'till the cops kicked me out and told them to knock it off.. life in the '70's rocked...
Saw them open for ZZ TOP in Memphis in December of 79 on the Deguello Tour...Came out doing "Mean to your Queenie"...THEY ROCKED..."The Hard Way" was bad too...RUSTY BURNS HAMMERED...
The record company totally ruined the sound of the band, when the album "airplay" came out, I couln't believe it was the same band. The same thing happened to 38 special, they rocked hard until they were made more "radio freindly" by the same record company (A&M) and they stopped doing songs about drinkin' & fightin' which made them great in the first place!
Dont know if it will be at Spirit of 66.... Just heard PB will be in those countries... One gig at the Castle.

This song was on their debut album (1975 I believe) an amazing record! I listen to it regularly to this day, thanks for the post!
billwinfw 4 years ago
yes same band, only 3 orignal members, though.
I believe it was 1980, they opened the texxas jam, that year, eagles headlined, those were the GOOD ol days, of outdoor festivals
danrockguy 4 years ago
I was at the Texxas Jam in 1982 and I remember them being there. Journey headlined that one. Yeah, the outdoor concerts were great!

WASN'T A.R.S THERE AS WELL?
dylanrobindylan 4 years ago
Have no clue who you are talking about but Journey was the headliner... Sammy Hagar, Joan Jett, Santana and Point Blank were also there.
