I Love this song....Its Definitely Baptist tho...St. James Choir under the direction of Charles Nicks...Not to be confused with the St, James Choir of today...
First of all...you don't know anything about the "business" of church. You don't know how it functions and the various roles that are played within it. I am a former church musician who played in the black church for over 30 years and I've played at over 33 of them of various denominations.
Do you know how many choir directors I've worked with? Over 200. I've seen and heard it all. The thieving pastors, the hamming and controlling choir directors and the hypocrite churchgoers.
Why does COGIC claim every song? lol This is NOT a COGIC song. This song actually came out of the Spiritualist Church....not Spiritual Church. It was recorded by Dr. Charles Hayes and the Cosmopolitan Church Choir of Chicago.....the same choir that brought us "Jesus can work it out!" NOT COGIC! LOL
When Progressive in West Dallas, Tx sang this song, we sung to the heavens like it depended on if that was out ticket into heaven.... We did exceptionally well.
i go to a balck church and i am black and every choir director acts just like him so he was just expressin how he feels about jesus maybe u should go to church
I look at this way. Some directors express themselves really hard when it comes to directing, but when you allow the Holy Spirit to reign over you and its through song then who are we to judge if its a show or not. When you allow the words to this song to minister and witness to your Spirit you can't help but break out in a dance look at where God has brought you and what we've placed in Hands, all of my issues, dramas, everything. Just continue to pray and praise tomorrow is not promised.
I'm "races"? i'm more than one race? you meant "racist"...anyway, how can i be a racist when I'm black? I have observed this buffoonery in the black church over 30 years.
@dailynewscenter Well sir or ma'am, I'm not sure who taught you to downplay your love for God, but you should find them and slap them. If you can't get on fire for the Lord, cool, but don't downplay other people's passion for the God who loves us despite our filthiness. David danced all the way out of his clothes and his wife hated on him just like you are hating right now, but he didn't let that hatred douse his passion for God. I hope that choir director is the same way.
You have absolutely NO CLUE to what you're talking about. You think just because this person is directing a choir that makes them saved and loves the lord just because they're directing a choir in a church? How naive you are. Please do not compare what you see with what I see. Our observation skills are different. You see the obvious: a person directing a choir and a choir singing.
I see something different because I know what to look for.

what an ignorant, showing out, hamming of a choir director. that dude is acting a fool. you give black people an audience and it's a wrap. they will act up everytime. God isn't getting in glory in that.
- black people and their need for attention and buffonery amazes me.
@Charamed yea it's called expression. What kind of rude statement? lol I had to laugh at this ignorance. He's doing a bit much I agree, but you are just ignorant with that. I mean ignorance in the nicest sense ;-)
This has been a blessing to my soul on this morning. This choir SANG!!! Thank you for touching my spirit on this morning. I pray that GOD continues to bless your ministry and increase as HE sees fit
That Curtis Pearson is a beast on the Hammond B3. You tell a true organist when you don't need a bass or any other instrument for accomplishment although it good to have, but not needed.
I remember watching him play when I was growing up at 2nd Eb back when it was on Cadilliac Blvd. man between him and Roy Henderson on keys was concert by themselves.
sang that

Why does COGIC always think an up tempo song, or someone shouting has something to do with COGIC? This is from a Baptist church.

whatever - the problem - I put it all in His hands
I know that - He can solve it - I put it all in His hands
this - and that - I put it all in His hands.
No matter how great or small, He the master of them all.
I put it all, yes I put it all, I put it all in His hands.

Whatever the problem I put it all in his hands
I know that He can solve them
