So cool! I absolutely love bearded dragons...I have a 4-1/2 year old female that I have had since she was a baby. She's the sweetest, most gentle pet I've ever had!

We actually thought she was a boy for the first 2 years because of the bumps under her tail (it looked like she had 2 on the sides like a male, but it was probably just "beardie fat"), and she bobs her head alot, but we later found out that females can "head bob" too.

like it says- he can see the female so he is trying to get to her- we house all the beardies so they cannot see each other so they dont get stressed- we only put her in front of his cages to get the video-

and yes head bobbing and beard prominance are to establish territory as well as a courtship ritual-

as long as he is in his tank & cant see any other beardies he is mr mellow & relaxed

actually it's a show of dominance. it's not just for mating. there are a good few reasons. coulda been annoyed and was trying to prove he was stronger so that the camera would go away. it would depend on the situation, really.

Nice dragon. The enclosure looks to be a bit on the dark side - I would brighten it up. Beardies love bright environments. The person that said "Sick name" actually meant he/she liked the name. Sick is an odd way of saying "cool". Good vid

They also head bob as a courting ritual - if a male sees a female he bobs his head and flares his beard to show off, if she is interested she waves - waving is a form of submission - other species have behaviors that are both coruting and dominance related (rabbits for example)

Cool beardie! I want to suprise my older brother with a baby one while he's away. I hope I get the licance before he comes back though. Either way their awesome. I've only touched one once in my entire life when I was 5. So rough! He used to catch them as a kid and bring them home for a bit. Mum was scared of them though lol. Words can NEVER explain how happy he will be when he finds a beardie on his bed! By the way, do you have any idea's on what to feed it and how to care for it?

they are just trying to get to whatever it is they see - could be their reflection, movement, they think it is either another dragon or maybe a bug to eat - here he can see the female so he is all excited :)

try to keep them housed so they arent distracted like this very much- it can get too stressful over time- thnx!
