  • Holla! Have you heard the talk about - fast abs magic (just google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my mate got detailed 6 pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • Good job on your video I liked it very much!

  • For this video. Aspartame in diet soda spikes the appetite of some and it causes them to eat more which puts on weight. And rice is indeed a staple of multiple Asian cultures. Let's not be misleading, please. However, everyone's body is different so you need to see what works for you. :)

  • All great things to remember!!!

  • FINALLY WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR

  • people in japan eat tons of white rice and they are thin and healthy.. and live longer than we do. what they don't eat is bread, potatoes and dairy.

  • @KiKiTheTechie

Many eat plenty of dairy, lol. Potatoes and bread are consumed, also, just not the quantity of westerners. It was in the 50's and earlier that Japanese people consumed very little dairy,

  • @KiKiTheTechie true and plus, that's their body complexion, AND u would say they eat white rice, but let's say it's white rice with the serving of a teacup, Thats all ur eating so when u eat that u dont add anything else, u do know that right? and also they have a natural diet that involvess green tea, lots of veggies, fruits, and lets just say that their more simple than americans, not the much snacks and artificial fats and sugars, Okey? KAY! umm yeah i hang around with jap so U get 2 know.

  • It's crazy, I know these things, but this video was such a good refresher. I've slipped back into some bad habits lately. (I learned to bake)

  • I think white rice is ok though...cuz I'm Korean and I've been eating white rice forever, but my mom puts both brown and white rice together when cooking rice.

  • white rice is not processed food, skinny asians have been eating it for centuries!

  • yes @Shokeybutsi , but they eat 3 handfull of it everyday, one on breakfast, lunch and dinnner with lots of protein and veggies. Their portions are small

  • i just said rice is good for you and its a fact that asians are not fat like americans but you guys negative my comments so im pissed and whoever negatives my comments is an idiot and gay person got that!

  • Comment removed

  • Tony Montana " Look at em Titties Mayne"

  • wrooong! you need to eat white rice like filipinos do, I have a question? do asians get fat than americans do when they eat white rice, again you are wrong white rice is good for you!

  • hmm.. that IS a good question. I eat white rice EVERYDAY and i've been the same size for years. of course, i do exercise regularly.

  • Have you taken a look at D4 from Cellucor? I think you should review it. Its insane.

  • @DaftBrian I have actually... it does work for the water weight but since it's not exactly "natural" I'm not sure I feel comfortable promoting it on here.. but yes I do think it works, just not sure about the side effects later in life

  • thanks for these videos!! awesome awesome... best find in a long time ... keep posting!!

  • great video!

  • how about vitamin water? I like to drink something with flavor!!! :(

  • This is so helpful... thanks!!!

  • thanks for this, really helpful:)

  • Great video, thank you!!

  • Thanks for the video Sarah! It is not only great advice for spring break, but great advice for how to eat each day!

  • if you WEIGHT TRAIN , you can eat, ALMOST whatever you want gaining little to no weight depending on ur goal. muscle burns fat more than anything. while awake or asleep u will burn more fat if u weight trainied over cardio. of course combination of both is best results.

  • lov u

  • maybe SHE should go on a diet. holy shit

  • The whole low gycemic, complex carb stuff is BS. I've was staying stagnant for years eating "complex carbs" and not getting any leaner while constantly working out. I've cut out almost all carbs except for 1-2 pieces of fruit a day and I've lost more body fat in the last 2 weeks than the last 2 years. Plus I'm eating as much food as I want.

  • i dont thnk diet soda makes you fat at all. i used to drink it all the time but when decreased the amount of carbs i consumed i dropped couple of pounds

  • no no no. too much protein will turn into fat unless you are a beefer like him and you are pumping iron every day.

  • holly crap look the bags under his eyes!

  • What about dairy? Wasn't mentioned.

  • @Coutureprincess0303 Probably because it is a controversial topic. Lots of opinions out there.

  • i hate when people don't follow some solid advice like this guy has got and instead say..... "i eat really well and workout, i just have bad genes, everyone else in my family is fat".... when in fact they have no idea what eating well and really working out means.

  • awesome, im doing the right thing i started eating cleaner today and im eliminating processed foods and working out so i can lose weight. I just started today and i'm feeling much better than when i eat the usual refined foods and all. Thanks for the tips!

  • Olive oil is less bad than some oils, but don't get carried away.

One tablespoon of olive oil in a meal is OK.

But don't pour it on without keeping track of how much you're adding.

  • Thanks so much for the advice will add that to my weekly routine I saw that video of your before and after you look grtt tnks again

  • He gives some good advice, but I doubt anyone can avoid sugars and sweets all together. We can treat ourselves now and then =] Portion control.

  • I wouldn't take any nutrition tipps from this guy, I mean he he is muscular and has a toned body for sure, but looks really burned out when you look at his face, especially at his bags under his eyes

  • lol, maybe just some "not so good" genes ;)

  • yeah or he should really start to relax and not be that strict to his body.. It's important to eat healthy but once in a while you should be able to eat candy.. I mean he really looks stressed out, I don't wanna look like that.

  • Sorry I meant i focus on cardio more then strength training should I do them equally? Will that give me maximum weight loss with a healthy diet? please let me know what you think when you get a chance thanks so much! =]

  • @crzy4mac I suggest adding strength training 2 to 3 days a week. Muscle is active tissue which burns calories at rest so by increasing your lean body mass you increase your metabolism. Cardio is still important but you will get the best results with a well balanced program. From personal experience strength training gave me better and faster results than cardio alone.

  • Hi Sarah,

I love all ur channels and this is great advice as always. When I first started working out I did mainly videos which was more strength training so I have muscle build up everywhere and definition but I still have fat on me so I started to do some weights for 15 to 20 minutes before I start my cardio which is basically intervals on the treadmill for 35 minutes b/c I am scared I wont loose weight if I do 3 days of cardio and strength training What do you think. I have 15 lbs more to go

  • Sarah you have such a great body why do you wear such unflattering outfits ! just trying to help a sister out your sexy let it show!

  • This was such a perfect, informative, and inspiring video. You guys are awesome!

Mike D'Angleo is such a cool dude. He's so smart!

Sarah..you're just amazing all around. You're always helping me reevaluate my diet, exercise routine, etc.

DietHealth is seriously one of the best channels on Youtube.

  • I love Sugar, White Rice, and Candy. I eat them ALL and I'm pretty Healthy!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • even diet soda ... haha

  • This video really helped me out. Do you lose a lot of weight by doing this.. or is it a little bit? I have a medium amount of fat to lose, so if I follow this diet, how long will I have to continue this diet for (months/weeks approx)?

  • @pinkpokadot07 it's more of a quick weight loss tip, but it's pretty hard to eat like this for a long period of time if you like the luxuries in life, I say moderation and do this if you have an event or something like spring break. To eat like this 100% of the time, is setting yourself up for failure.

  • SarahsFabChannel -

Are there particular foods you like which aren't included in these recommendations?

  • @pinkpokadot07 Follow this diet forever, don't make it a small short term "diet" this is just for overall health, and do it with exercise and you'll be in the best shape :)

  • Awesome advice!

  • btw i like this guy, bring him back!

  • @lostindisillusion He's my trainer :) Glad you like him!

  • what about wild rice?

  • @lostindisillusion good question, I would assume it's ok since it's wild and "not processed" right? I'll get back to you on that one

  • thanks!

  • I've made some great changes in my fitness and diet plans but drinking water continues to be a struggle for me. It's so bland...is there any way to spice it up and make it more appealing?

  • @disne4me if you don't mind consuming aspartame, then crystal light is a great option

  • I used to hate drinking water too, but I made a schedule for myself. I drink a cup every 2 hours. That way I don't feel like I'm forcing myself to drink a lot of water in one sitting. Now I really like the taste of water. Feels refreshing. I think you just need to get into a habit of drinking water. ^^

  • @disne4me lemon? add a slice of orange, iced tea is good too

  • that last song sounds pretty nice. what was it?

  • this is amazing advicee!!thanksss.

  • Good, informative video.

  • Diet soda cannot make anyone gain weight. That is the biggest pile of crap advice ever and it is not based on anything except conspiracy theories. Diet soda contains ZERO calories. It is impossible to gain weight from something with zero calories.

This guy was pretty much dead on things until he uttered that nonsense.

  • Just because diet soda has zero calories doesn't mean that it doesn't have sugar in it. Any kind of soda in genral isn't good for you and if you drink a lot of it just cutting it out of your diet can help you lose weight and over time you will see improvements.

  • only reason it can make you 'gain weight' is because artifical sweeteners can trick some people's tongues into craving more sweet like foods, which usually aren't diet foods like brownies, cake, and candy. So no the soda itself doesn't make you gain weight, but the after effects of diet soda can make you gain weight. :)

  • Which validates my point.... diet soda cannot make someone gain weight.

  • That's right. There are no scientific studies which prove that artificial sweeteners increase the blood sugar level. And if there's no high blood sugar level there is no insulin that makes you gain weight.

  • Diet soda does not increase blood sugar levels because it does not contain sugar. This is part of the problem. It still causes you body to release insulin which causes your body to store all glucose as fat and hinders your bodies ability to use fat as fuel. Diet soda does not cause you to gain weight but metabolically it does not help you lose weight and it may be detrimental.

  • You said diet soda does not increase blood sugar levels because of the absence of sugar, totally agree. But the main factor that causes insulin release is a high blood sugar level... so I think there is a major contradiction in what you are saying. Or please explain why the body should release insulin when there is no need for it.

  • The body releases insulin for different reasons. In fact just the sight or smell of food can cause your body to release insulin. As for diet soda its the sweet taste.

The contradiction you mention is a big reason why it can be bad because the body is releasing insulin when it doesn't need to. if it happens often enough insulin resistance could develop.

I am not saying to never drink it but don't live on the stuff. It may do more harm than good.

  • What your refer to is the cephalic phase insulin release. But for a significant insulin release it requires more than just a sweet taste. In fact insulin release is influenced by the presence of glucose, amino acids, free fatty acids and certain hormones. But Diet soda does neither contain sugar/carbs nor fat or amino acids.

  • The insulin release is controlled by a strong adjusted system. That's why the body does not release any insulin when it is not necessary (speaking of a healthy person that has no metabolic interferences). And the aspect of insulin resistance is just a hypothesis, its not proved yet.

  • @tiffanyvelvet I agree that insulin release is controlled by a complex system. I also agree that most of the info I have mentioned is based on hypothesis's however I don't think it should be discarded solely because they have not found concrete evidence. There is a release of insulin via the cephalic phase but unfortunately at this point it is not clear if it is benign or could cause problems. The truth is there is a positive correlation that people who consume diet soda gain weight.

  • Oh and I do know that correlation does not prove causation but it does suggest more research needs to be done. Frankly I do not have time to dive into the literature to find actual evidence either way. My purpose of posting was to mention one reason diet soda MAY be harmful to weight loss goals. I admit it is a hypothesis and may be found to be untrue but it is out there as a concern.

  • One more thought this is only one reason people think its bad. There are a lot of other reasons out there but I am not familiar with those.

  • Agree thoughtpatterns, I called shenanigans as soon as I heard that. Fitness "experts" seem to be on a fad of bashing diet sodas. There are no FACTS that prove it "makes you fat".

  • @ThoughtPatterns Soda all together isn't good for you. When you drink pop it makes you more thirsty than before. And just because its zero calories doesn't mean it doesn't have lots of sugar!

  • @Mikkixox9

Sugar contains calories... diet soda does not contain calories and therefore contains no sugar. If someone wants to cite peer-reviewed scientific studies that moderate diet soda consumption is in any way harmful, I would love to read them. You won't find any, because they don't exist.

I know its currently cool to be anti-everything, but just because someone claims something it doesn't make it true without scientific evidence.

  • @ThoughtPatterns somethings have no sugar and calories and somethings have no calories and sugar you can have one without the other. And I don't like pop because like I said pop makes you more thirsty than you were to begin with. So whats the point?

  • gurgix -

Soymilk, soyburgers, tofu, and beans (except for green beans) are vegetable-based and have a decent amount of protein.

Vegetables in a common salad don't have much protein.

  • Comment removed

  • haha that's already almost exactly what I eat

  • is there going to be a workout routine to slim down before spring break? would really like to see one.

  • i give up White Rice for 2 years because i really like oathmeal and Black Bread and greek salad..but now im back with seafoods Rice and SeaFood Pasta....hehehe, but in minimal amount, and now 3 months i never intake Coffee,Tea and chocolate...and all Sodas...i i drink a lot of Water...i observe that my skin is more healthier....thanks Sarah...take care

  • One reason diet soda is bad is that your body responds to artificial sweetners the way it responds to real sugar. So it releases insulin causing your blood sugar to drop to low. This causes you to crave more sugar. They also are worried this could lead to insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes. From what I here stevia does not cause the same insulin reaction so it may be a better choice. however the jury is still out on that. Hope this helps.

  • Artificial sweeteners do not lead to insulin release. Otherwise diabetics wouldn't be able to drink diet soda without an insulin injection. Why do you think, artificial sweeteners are especially for diabetics?

  • It does cause an insulin release. It is good for diabetics because their bodies do not produce insulin Type 1 or have become resistant to it Type 2. So it does not affect them the same way and some worry that in nondiabetics the frequent release of insulin when there is no risk of high blood sugar could lead to insulin resistance. Sarah was right there is not enough room to really explain this here so if you have questions DM me I would be happy to explain it better.

  • love it :)

  • I can't do is give up my white rice! It's so hard! But I know that if I do, it would give me the most benefits. Once, when my family was moving, my mom didn't want to carry a huge thing of rice in the truck, so when we ran out of rice, she didn't buy it until we were in the new town... that meant no rice for me for 1 month. I lost a bunch of weight, and I wasn't even eating that much of it daily. Just like a cup a day! Is brown rice THAT much better? All I know is that the taste isn't.

  • Soccer7SG -

One dry cup of white rice is 2 servings. If you were eating that per-meal, then maybe you should try eating 1/2 dry cup per-meal.

  • WOW, 1 cup of white rice = 2 servings? I usually have one cup per day with dinner. It's a cultural thing I guess... my rice addiction, lol. I am trying to ween myself off of it.

  • guilty. i love rice.

  • @Soccer7SG -

Are you eating 1 cup of cooked rice or 1 cup of pre-cooked rice?

    1 cup of pre-cooked rice = 2 cups of cooked rice = 2 servings

  • Oh! Definitely 1 cup of cooked! Good, so I'm only eating one serving! lol

  • @Soccer7SG -

Do you add oil to the rice?

  • My family usually makes 2 cups of DRY rice for 5 of us in my family, and on that, we add about 2 tablespoons of oil.

  • Soccer7SG -

Are there any other ingredients in the rice?

  • Just water and some salt / spices usually. Every once in a while, we mix it up and toss some different veggies or onions in the mix, lol.

  • Great video! I really like this guy and what he had to say. I like how he used the white board to explain.

  • This is one of your best video's idea so far!!!! I'd give it 100 stars if I could..... but 5 is the best I can do ;P

I'm always confused about serving sizes (you know, calorie counting can be hard at times) and how many portions of proteins, carbs, fats, veggies... I should eat per day.

Could you please do a little more detailed video about this stuff?

    Thank you anyways!

    xxx Elisa

  • Excellent informative helpfull video usefull tip's

thanx a million for such a wonderful upload.

  • So helpful! Thanks.

Your videos are always very motivating :)

  • @LoriFLA It's complicated so I'll tackle it in one of my videos. It would take too much space to write it here.

  • awesome video and great tips!

  • he´s hot :-)

  • Hi!!!

You mention no diet soda... what about sparkling water???

    Thanks!!!

  • @Shanhtterelle sparkling water should be alright as all it is, is water and carbon dioxide (but check the lable anyway!). last time i checked carbon dioxide has no calories.

  • Thanks a lot to both for your answers!!!

  • @Shanhtterelle That's ok!

  • Thanks a lot to both for your answers!!! :)

  • I really want to cut the sugar in my diet. I use about 5 packets of sugar in the raw in my coffee every morning. I hate artificial sweetners. what do you suggest I use instead? I don't want to quit drinking cofee b/c I have terrible withdrawls. Do you have any suggestions??

  • I am the same way maybe try Sun Crystals it is made with Stevia which is natural and sugar. It is 5 cals. a packet. I just bought some so I will see how I like it. =) There is also Truvia I am not sure the calorie content on it.

  • Cool...I'll try it. Sounds like a good option. thnx.

  • I agree with Lynxie77, I use truvia and I love it :) and it has no calories!

  • Does Truvia have an after taste like artificial sweeteners?

  • This is on point!

  • really good video

  • Thank you so so much!!!

  • Why do people think that animal protein is good for weight loss or general health? It's not. 3 servings!!! That is well above what anyone needs (expect MAYBE bodybuilders). Almost every single food has protein- iceburg lettuce is 23% protein for example. As long as you eat a fairly varied diet there is absolutely no need for animal protein or any animal products.

It has been linked to cardiovascular disease and many cancers. Please do not promote animal consumption-it is unhealthy and inhumane

  • Your argument about alternatives is valid but denying the benefits of eating meat isnt.

  • There is some controversy about the benefits of eating meat and whether or not it is natural/healthy. I can provide scientifically valid research on the harmful properties of animal protein.

What would you say are the benefits of eating meat?

  • Great source of protein and iron. Easily to get and intergrate in meals. Although high in saturated fat, the fat in meat contains also helps protect you from cancer and virus's.

I understand that you can acheive all these things with a meat free diet but for me, when it comes down to it. Eat Ethically, Eat Clean.

  • If you don't mind, I would like to read a peer-reviewed journal article saying that animal fat protects humans from cancer and viruses.

you might want to read about Dr. Campbell's research on animal protein (casein). very convincing stuff...

And if you claim to eat ethically and clean, then you must be a vegan. if you eat meat, dairy and eggs you are contributing to factory farming; there is nothing ethical or clean about high-speed slaughterhouses.

  • @aaandsm iceburg lettuce has less than 1% protein... and even if it was 23% protein, lettuce does not weigh much so you would need to eat quite a bit of it to get the required serving

  • where are you getting of <1%? If you google lettuce, most of them are at least above 15%.if you continued to read my post, I said you should eat a varied diet. no one eats just one thing. my point is that perceived protein needs are wildly distorted. we all get enough protein. but eating animal proteins is sacrificing your own health, the lives of animals, and the lives of other humans (as it takes so much water and grain to produce just one pound of meat. food that could be going to others.)

  • Actually if you google lettuce most of them say the protien content is around 1-2%. On another post you did refer to the dry weight of lettuce (without water content) in which case it is true that its around 20-25% but that is just an arbitary value as few eat dehydraded foods. All im saying is its not really a good source of protien as oposed to a portion of fish and chicken. if you dont want to go down the livestock root then beans and nuts are a good alternative

  • @aaandsm because its f***ing awesome.

  • my condolences to your arteries

  • You'ld have to eat a whole lot of iceberg lettuce to get even a reasonable amount of protein. Maybe you should have chosen a more balanced metaphor if you intended to convince youtube trolls . . . being a vegetarian/vegan is a nice idea though :)
