Well he is on a competing network so he's no hero for this. At least he's defending Clinton who's interview was an insult. I don't like "newsmen" using history. It lets foxes use history as irreverently as they can get away with because debates take years not soundbites. America is terribly undereducated anyway, including the historians themselves. Gibbons died long ago.
