@YoYoPie304 try a small trout net, or one of the folding telescopic nets that can be bought.shouldnt cost more than £20 and folds down to about a metre..perfect for use with these rods
@TheWatchman144K i bought them from penfishingrods..its the ONLY supplier.they do ship to the UK dont worry;just email them and they will provide you the shipping costs etc and talk you through what to select on the new shipping calculator.
@TheWatchman144K ok ive just done a "dummy" order and this is all you need to do...follow your order through without using the shipping calculator. you will be forwarded to paypal; choose "ship outside the US" and then choose UK from the drop down list. this will add UK shipping to your order at a rate of $20! then just follow your order through as per normal from there!
@FishingThePNW i use a camo mono line at 8lb for my standard reels and a 15lb braid for my baitcaster. Just be careful with braid, it doesnt stretch like mono and as such all the pressure is put onto the rod and your arm, its takes a little bit more care to bring in larger fish on the braid on the PRE!
@kirisilvermane thanks for the info, i was just debating getting braid cause i want to fish the ocean with it and there tend to be sharp rocks / pilings etc.. and i may have to lift fish up a dock.. hm, i'm still debating but i guess i'd have to keep the drag even a bit more loose if i used braid.
@FishingThePNW braid is great for fishing but it is fragile to a certain extent. unlike mono which can take a battering around rocks etc; braid will tend to simply "cut" and snap real quick if it gets abraided too harshly against snags etc. ive happily used braid for trout and pike with great success, not sure id risk it sea fishing or tidal fishing.
@FishingThePNW well if you havent already gotten braid, id suggest it, for freshwater and saltwater, just use a fluorocarbon leader and abrasion wont be a problem, and its soo sensitive to those light bites on behalf of the no stretch, no memory, casts great, id suggest spiderwires fluorobraid because its the best casting, quiet and it sinks so wind barely affects it.
@flytie13 bobbers? you mean the floats? they are Drennan Green; a "waggler" float that is very common to use in UK waters. harder to get stateside though
hi there! yeah he seems to have annoyed alot of people by spamming their vids! turns out des and barned1,or whatever his name is, might be the same guy..another friend was commenting to him and the guy replied to a comment to barned1 with a login for grandeslam!! now there is a dirty trick if ever there was one!!
still; Penfishingrods has the GOLAITH coming in Jan 2010! Thats a HUGE 61 inches or over 5 foot of pen rod action!! expect to see me hammering fishies with it sometime soon!!
you wouldnt be able to handle it bro! they would pull your arm off! only us hyper secret super spies can handle such fishing with our secret identities :p
Yeah.. You're talking about the guy who went out to target 20 - 30 lb trout w/ the PRE & an MXAA. You're lucky I didn't hook anything that day! I ain't done yet!

what lb test line were you using? i'm debating on whether or not to buy some 20 lb braid since it has the same diameter as 6 lb line..
