5:45 Stun isn't really bias against SwordM since stun units are often gun or cannon units aka can stun more than 1 unit. However, a strategically placed Awakening from a Monk can resolve such issues, thus the SwordM being weaked against stun is really a weak argument.
@NephyrisX Monks cannot use Awakening every round. When a main character dies, the battle is lost; so it does actually matter a great deal that SwordM's ideal placement makes him susceptible to stun. Your party won't scatter if your other characters fall.
@jfreedan Actually, Monks CAN use Awakening every round, provided they never attack or Holy Guard. Plus, you have to factor in that SwordM is the best tank in the game. Any decent player would know that and tends to target him last, unless you are talking about mob battles, then it's an entirely different story.
i really like your review style man. very professional. if you or anyone reading this gets a chance, please check out my channel for similar game reviews! :D
I think this review was very well done and has informed me of what to expect out of this game. Being said I don't think this game is for me, but I do know some of my friends that are looking for a game like this.
don't think i wanna play this game :( Stratigy is not good for me. i lost a entire fleet in solar empire in just 2 mins, and keep losing in final fantasy, also chess! to a freaking Ball Of Cheese! XD
@HonestDav MMORPGs are more time consuming than your typical game. Some reviewers only play them for a few hours and then review the tutorial areas; I played Atlantica for about a month, as I did with CoH since I got to the max level in it. Atlantica I got to 80.
@HonestDav I also have to write the script for the reviews. Some games require some research into their history. These MMORPGs tend to require a lot of forum reading so that I become extremely knowledgable about their mechanics, to the point I may know more about it than some people who have played the game for years but never delved into the theorycraft (as can be seen in my CoH reviews).
@HonestDav There is also the editing of the videos. Converting fraps codec to uncompressd avi so I can load it on my Mac pro to then convert into .mov so I can actually stick it into FCP...takes at least 4-6 hours of time. Then I can actually begin editing, which can vary depending on if there is a lot to be rendered. All in all, I easily spend over 40 hours making one of these videos.
i do love turn based games ( quoting Fire Emblem ) but a turn based online RPG? sounds to complicated for my tiny 10 year old mind ( which mastered CoH in 1 month if i may say myself ).
If your interested you may find, shin megami tensei imagine online, runes of magic, champions online to be fun games and if you ever feel you need a break from rpgs you could try some 3rd person shooters like gunz, gobal agenda or my personal favorite s4 league. Thought id just share a few games I enjoyed and keep up the videos :D
While I don't think the recent FF games were bad, I agree that Squares been expiramenting... If they return to form with FF15 and save the expiraments to spinoffs, it might be better. Still, X, XII, and XIII were quality games, just not everyones cup of tea.
@LeoHwzrChannel tell me about it, the FF series really needs to go back to its roots, im having more fun playing the dragon quest series then any of the newer FF games
As far as the sketches go (just to give an opinion) they don't add too much but they are unique. It's kinda funny when the Sword introduces a game, but outside of that, it'd be better seperate.
@MegaShadowrunner I'm going to make a better intro once I move into my house and create a real "set" for the show in one of the rooms. I'm going to be creating a series of reviews without the sketches as I have no space to film them. I'm also wondering if the show will do better without the sketch segments; I can always make the sketch segments their own thing separate from the reviews.
@MegaShadowrunner Essentially I'm taking this opportunity to experiment with the format of the show while still releasing some of the reviews I was working on over the past year but didn't have sketches written for.
FFXI wouldve sucked if it came out to be like this. I think alot of people wouldve been disappointed if it came out to be turn based.

@jfreedan Awakening has 1 turn cooldown. At least it did when I made this 8 months ago.

A game being a giant tutorial is a good thing, much better route than swamping you with all the info at the very start.

@CrazyOneToadette It's not anymore complicated than City of Heroes though it's not as well supported with player-created guides as CoH is.

That's cool, and there's still good info in these reviews.
BTW, this action point system kinda reminds me of the ones in Xenosaga and FF- 4 Heroes of Light.
