Fun Fact: Batgirl's first appearance in Detective Comics #359 also saw her helping Batman and Robin against Killer Moth. He looked a lot cooler in the comic book though.

You know why all the clothing in the opening scene looks like it's from 1959 instead of 1967? Because I am almost sure they were used in the opening to 1959's The Best of Everything, which was a Fox movie as Batman and Batgirl were Fox television properties.

This was actually a "demonstration film" that introduced "Batgirl" to ABC executives as producer William Dozier's "secret weapon" for the third season. "Batgirl" (and Yvonne) was never considered to star in her own weekly series- she was added to "BATMAN" because the ratings during season two had deteriorated, and the series cut back to one half-hour every week in season three. Despite "Batgirl", the series ended in March 1968...
