All making a contested jumper means is you made the shot. Anybody can throw up a wild shot and there's a chance of it going in. Creating space through agility and skill with the basketball is true skill. Michael clearly recovered and contested the shot. Pointless video. Cool editing though.

I remember watching this happen live and thought it was impressive...but this video helped me to see that Iverson CARRIED THE BALL not just once but twice---no wonder Jordan had problems.

for some reason people think making a contested shot over somebody is the ultimate sign of dominating them.....the fact is,when you can shake your defender and get a good look it far more dominant than this....those who think contested jumpers are great are probably fans of sidekick kobe bryant....when you can shake your defender to the point where he doesnt even contest,thats mastery..."michael jordan crossover on vince carter"...that footage is more impressive..creating space with his skills

iverson is one of the best point guards ever, but, his career doesn't compare to jordan's. and the very next play after that crossover jumper was jordan shooting a jumper in iverson's face. I remember watching that game when i was a kid in 1997.

On top of the fact that Jordan was 35 in this video, you need to take a couple things into consideration:

1) Michael Jordan was at this point of his career an aged SG and Allen Iverson was a fresh quick PG.

2) Ron Harper was the PG for the bulls so they delegated Jordan to cover Allen because Harper was even slower. A lot of match up problems here.
