This show is so great. One of the reasons of it being so is the fact that they take all of this 100% seriously. You know that in the AMerican version, they think its all a joke.
Yeah, what you have to sort of remember is that sometimes the one who really should take it on can't come, so they need to pick someone else. So if they can't find the 1st place winner, who better to find instead than the one who came right behind?
for the first time, I thought Sakai looked nervous coming in... how can they expect the Iron Chefs to go against the #2 dessert chef in the world? a little unfair.. but I'm excited for anything involving chocolate! :)
If you watched Iron Chef more than a couple times, you'd know that Sakai does that often. It's probably a means of focusing himself, and getting himself psyched up.
