@LittleMissJennifer84 - Thanks! :-) I've been crocheting over 20 years, so I guess the speed is due to muscle memory. And yep, the stitch is US double, UK triple stitch, and I'm crocheting into the spaces between the stitches of the row below. The pattern is from the Vintage Vertical Stripe blanket.
@precyshjewyl86 - it's just basic double crochet (US term - the Brits call it treble crochet, dunno where you're from, so I thought I'd better be specific just in case!) The whole pattern I'm using for the piece is called the Vintage Vertical Stripe Crochet afghan.
i loved the two of you and the way you crochet. you are funny, funny, funny. so many women are way too serious and take the fun out of it, thank you i liked it a lot.
I liked the spending time and laughing and having fun with each other. I could never crochet that fast but i will give it a go. Never thought of moving my pointer finger up... Great video!
wtheck?? How in the world do you have that speed when you crochet? Also why do the needles squeak? that never happens to me, but I only use metal hooks. Is there a significant difference to you? how long was your total time for this project?
that's fast crocheting, i tried to made a runner for daughter's dresser, didn't quite turn out , became a hat, lol. i'm a left-handed for crochet, but knit right-handed, lol. thanks for showing.
lol, I love the strange comments you made in the video. (the sound of plastic and yarn... mmmm.) hahaha. I get like that when I crochet too... I just spout some stuff that didn't go through the mental processes section of my brain first. :P
wow.. I hold the yarn the same way! I thought I was a freak... never saw anyone hold it like me.. but, now I have... makes the hands hurt more, tho....fun video!
Nope, you're not a freak :-) Huh, how funny though! I have never seen anyone else use this yarn hold except my older sister (who taught me to do it that way, since the traditional hold didn't work for me AT ALL) - I even call this technique The Jessica Method (after her), lol! Strange that it makes your hands hurt more than the other methods. :-/
I think it's a testament to how crafts are passed down through the years... and centuries..! Holding it that way may come from some ancient place somewhere-- I like to think that! I was from the days where I learned how to crochet in college-- of all places!! Imagine that! During the revolutionary 60's in Boston, MA! All the best, you joyful crochet-er!
IT is very nice to have people like you to teach us, I really wanted to learn but everybody says, sure come over, and then, no I had something or that or this.. so it is awsome.
Thanks! Yep, I was crocheting a blanket - just a small one, though. I did a huge one before with the same colors and pattern, and decided to make a small one afterwards because I still had a bunch of yarn left over ... do you crochet too?
The singing at 1:46 ... lol... ridiculous. I love it.

That's the double stitch. Man, that's Ok, but your not really not teaching people, if they didn't already know how to do it.
