  • Now that is one AWESOME! flash lite.

  • chuck norris must hav made this hahaha

  • The thing that is great is that the bad guy isn't going to know it's a gun so you can take him down without him shooting you because he doesn't think your armed

  • You know... MagLites are pretty heavy. I would rather hit the assaulter with it.

  • question could you geta aow as a concealed carry in some states?

  • @famasdan

I doubt it. I think it's classified as a destructive device, so you'll need a $200 tax stamp.

  • @chitoryu12 It's a AOW. $5 tax.

  • @famasdan I wouldn't bother. It's value is as a novelty.

  • I will take one in 50 bmg.

  • how about recoil? which part of your body do you use to absorb it? from the video it looks like it doesn't have any recoil at all

  • Maglites are f_ing ALUMINUM !???

  • The most amazing thing I've ever seen.

This must be illegal in Canada right? lol

  • Do it 12 gauge!!!!

  • YEAH BABY!

  • Just putting it out there but what about .. a head torch and a pistol : )

  • Don't piss off the security guard anymore!

  • It's easier to put a flashlight on a gun.

  • @nathan82206 lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats cool as hell

  • Pretty cool, I dig it for novelty factor alone. Who says every gun has to be practical? There is nothing wrong with having a fun novelty piece. I'd love to have some AOW's and other NFA goodies, but it's next-to-impossible in California. Oh, to live in a free state...

  • Thats a good way to make a trip to the hospital.

  • How to: kill yourslf with a maglite. you could also just hold the bullet and then hit the back end with a hammer! Probably just as effective

  • that would make a great selfdefense weapon

  • That looks like it would be about as useful as a 1 legged man in an ass kicking contest...

  • thats like the best poaching tool if you could get up on the deer

  • It's super gunning Flashlight !

  • is that a flashlight or a gun ? :P

  • Dude are you that dumb?

  • Pretty cool, but its not even close to being .410 gauge. Its .410 BORE or if you must call it a gauge then it is a 67 1/2 gauge. NOT .410 GAUGE

  • Nerd.

.410 Gauge is a common colloquialism.

Having a piss fit about terminology (and your tone suggests piss fit) is like Trekkies asking for the combination of the safe in a Star Trek episode.

  • No I was definitely not having a piss fit about it. It just annoys to hear someone say ".410 gauge" when it is not anywhere near .410 gauge. But I can tell by your tone that you do not like being corrected. But whatever the floats your boat I guess. For the record I don't watch star trek.

  • Thanks for replying and proving my point.

  • What the hell was your point and how did I prove it?

  • @Frankdude72 He's right. Just because it's a common colloquialism doesn't mean you should use it. The very act of saying .410 gauge is inaccurate anyways. Note the dot? That's short for 0.410 , you know, because caliber measurements in America are in inches (exempli gratia: .50 caliber = 0.5 inches). Calling it 410 gauge would be retarded (that'd be 0.225 inches in internal diameter of the barrel...a .22 cal shotgun? Why!?) and .410 would be 5.71 inches across. Accuracy is important.

  • @DIL Oh yes, he's technically correct, and I was aware of that then.

HWA was making a bigger deal of it than necessary. And, to be accurate, you are too. ;-)

Look at lilham10809's comment, as he gets the intent and purpose perfectly.

This video was an introduction to the gun itself, and in that context, and for those purposes, .410 gauge is appropriate.

Detouring into a dissertation of how cartridge names aren't reflective of their proper dimensions is outside the scope of the film.

  • @Frankdude72 Perhaps it's outside the scope of the film, but you should at least make an attempt at technical accuracy; if you don't use inaccurate terms, you wouldn't need to go into a dissertation on cartridge names as they apply to their proper dimensions. I apologize for a piece of inaccuracy in my calculations; I checked Wikipedia a little bit later, realized my figures and theirs didn't match, redid my calculations, and .410 would be 2.25 inches across.

  • @deathinlonging Really dude, the fact that you went to all this trouble to be 100% accurate with the math and measurements is both laudable and deplorable.

When the situation requires it, your nose for detail will be very beneficial.

Otherwise, your obsession with accuracy at this level will turn people off and bore them.

Learn to let go, chill out, and understand things like significant digits and the need for colloquialisms in context, Mr. Spock.

    The subject is closed.

  • @deathinlonging if its so important then a 2x4 would actually be a 1 1/2 x 3 1/2. so go to your nearest hardware store and ask for both of those and see what gets you lumber first. and for the hell of it, go to walmart and ask for 410 gauge and see if you get some shells

  • @huntwithairguns yes you are correct but i sudgest you go to walmart and ask for 67 and a half gauge and then ask for 410 gauge and see what gets you ammo first. and after that look at the boxes it will say 410 gauge. its kinda like a 2x4. its not actuially 2 inches x 4 inches its actuially 1 1/2 inch x 31/2 inch. but go to home hardware and ask for a 2x4 and then 1 1/2 x 3 1/2 and see what gets you a peice of lumber first.

  • @lilham10809 I know your reply is 4 months old, but I've got to applaud how well you got the point of my discussion.

    Bravo!

  • @Frankdude72 anytime bud!

  • that's fucking awesome right there

  • its going to eat bulbs

  • Guns, even vagina's in flash lights.

    What the fuck is next?

  • this weapon would be so easy to sneek up on a cop if the light works.

  • but does it still work as a flashlight....

  • end of the video shows he turns the flashlight on and then shoots it ... :)

  • i guess i didnt have time to watch the entire video....

  • YEAA BABY!

  • That is so easy to make yourself why buy it.

  • Can that thing touch off a .45 cal round?

  • Nope.

  • I would hate to be shot by a flashlight.

  • destroy a pro 4D flashlights :S

  • it's impossible to have one?

    It's an artisanal system?

  • Where I can buy it?I leave in Corsica (french country)

  • Honestly, If you can get legal permission, best to have a machine shop make you one in Corsica, as this model is out of production.

Link to my Maglite Shotgun Dissassembly Video for more detailed pictures.

  • Wait... It's cheaper to get a short barreled shotgun, if it doesn't LOOK like a shot gun? That can't be right.... Can it?

  • Negative,

AOWs cover any kind of firearm that doesn't look like a conventional firearm when fired.

    AND

Smoothbore weapons (shotguns) that never, ever, ever had a stock attached.

Short-barreled shotguns, under Federal law, have had a stock attached at some point in time.

  • That would require a tax-stamp as a short barreled shotgun, right?

  • Since it doesn't look like a proper gun, it's consider an AOW (Any Other Weapon) and thus, rates a $5 Tax Stamp.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its a sewer pipe shotgun with style.

  • meh. What you should do is make the light portion a singe cr123 powered cree led - 60 lumens for an hour - and then move the shotshell back so it can have some barrel to accelerate. Then it would knock over the steel.

  • Dude, I didn't build it. I just own it.

Honestly, guns of this type are more novelties than useful weapons, with the exception of very specialized circumstances.

  • You would have to be an idiot to buy something like that with the actual intention of using it for self defense. Keeping a loaded flashlight gun pointed at you is a bad idea when using it for illumination. XD Might as well just get a handgun and a holster. It's easier and safer. Like you said though it makes a nice novelty item.

  • Thanks for the video. But I wouldnt want one. Just cool to see creativity at its best.

  • I can see how it would be useful out on the ranch if a snake crosses your path. But not for self defense.

  • Yea I can see why you took so much time to put that video up. Good quality and looks like you went to town on it some program like Windows Movie Maker.

Well the guns badass. Does it have a way to aim it? I didn't see any beads and I imagine in a self defense situation nobody would be worrying about aiming the shotgun, but just shooting at them and hoping the scatter-shot would tag the attacker.

  • Closest thing to aiming I devised is to put the bezel to your shoulder like it was a stock. Still, the barrel barely extends past the shell, so you're not getting much range with it.

  • Well being that it's so short I'm guessing it's got a big powerful scatter, like a sawn-off shotgun. Is that the case?

  • Actually, if you look at some of the shooting w/ the #7 1/2 shot, you'll see a wiiiide scatter impacting the dirt.
