This is the Halifax scene in a nutshell and a part of the reason why I'm glad I left. I'm pro-choice too, not that it matters, The problem here is that we have a bunch of kids who are away from home for the first time and think that its cool to protest, rally, etc. but are terrified of doing any real work. All the left-wing protest movements in Halifax (Canada?) are like this. All bark and no bite. At least the pro-lifers are organized and committed to their cause. I'm ashamed of these people.
I should clarify a bit. I took part in a lot of these sorts of activities at SMU and have learned that protesting doesn't work. That is why the pro-life movement and other minority opinions are gaining so much traction: they're organized. They go through the proper channels. They don't make complete asses of themselves. A bunch of "hippies" (or "yuppie children") screaming into the wind isn't going to make much difference. But yeah, its cool right? And we're all like, totally helping, right?

This is the Halifax scene in a nutshell and a part of the reason why I'm glad I left. I'm pro-choice too, not that it matters, The problem here is that we have a bunch of kids who are away from home for the first time and think that its cool to protest, rally, etc. but are terrified of doing any real work. All the left-wing protest movements in Halifax (Canada?) are like this. All bark and no bite. At least the pro-lifers are organized and committed to their cause. I'm ashamed of these people.

I should clarify a bit. I took part in a lot of these sorts of activities at SMU and have learned that protesting doesn't work. That is why the pro-life movement and other minority opinions are gaining so much traction: they're organized. They go through the proper channels. They don't make complete asses of themselves. A bunch of "hippies" (or "yuppie children") screaming into the wind isn't going to make much difference. But yeah, its cool right? And we're all like, totally helping, right?

There may be a God, there may not be a God, neither of us can tell for sure. I believe in science, and the branches for it. Using the information that science provides, I will verify it and draw my own conclusions from it. I actually have a friend that is the product of rape. He's a good guy, loves his mom and step father very much - I'm sure there's no doubt in his mom's mind that she made the right choice about it. Babies can be given up for adoption, there's no need to kill them for crimes they didn't commit. Although, I will agree with you to some extent, that perhaps rape should be a special case scenario for abortion.

Indeed this is a deep philosophical question since If you are unable to define when life begins then you are standing on shakey ground when you say abortion is murder. On the other hand a grown woman is unquestionably alive and as such her right and autonomy most take priority over a fetus who claim to being alive is in doubt.

Exactly right, Joerugby07! There is not one single rational "argument" in existence for pro-abortion! Not one! They can try, but their logic is skewed from the very start and they end up asking others to follow them in their twisted mental gymnastics. Then they resort to name-calling when they realize they have failed.

You see, this is the thing I hate about left wing people, and I don't mean to stereotype because these people are entitled to their opinions... But why is it that when they share their opinions, its freedom of speech - but when someone disagrees its hate speech. Kind of an odd double standard there, don't ya think?

The point was that the man tried to engage in a civil discussion after having his right to free speech stomped on by people yelling slogans. They wouldn't even let him speak once because they were scared. It was painful watching that video because I felt embraced for the protesters.

I don't think the audience responded because they were waiting for the proper authorities to do the right thing and usher the disruptors off the scene. If some of them had gotten up to get these brain-damaged protesters out of there, someone might have gotten hurt. I'd be afraid for my safety in the presence of such irrationality as the protesters demonstrated. It's another far-left shoutdown from people who demand tolerance. The irony is delicious; the school should discipline them severely.

I am all for free speech, though when their free speech infringes on the rights of the free speech of others, the line has been crossed. They should have demonstrated outside, and the cops should have arrested them if they didn't leave.

Yes, I'm sure that's what the ultra feminist women of the Pro-Choice protesters were concerned with: a back-up plan for all of the casual sex with multiple partners that they're known for. Not female rights, no a back-up plan. Finally, a window into their minds.
