I heard that Herman Li & Sam use alot of effects to make themselves sound like they're shredding and that they speed up the recorded guitar parts in the studio to make it sound way faster. I heard they're bot really sloppy live too. I don't know for sure 100% though

I've seen them twice live, and they don't speed up in the solo, but what they do is, they record certain parts at one time, so they don't play an entire song at once, but they are definitely better than they were in 06

I did see them too at Hellfest 2009, and I also find them actually quite good. They also had a lot of energy, and good stage presence, which I appreciated greatly. Good band, good show. Bashing is a common pastime on Youtube.
