  • The BEST!!

  • The song is too comedic, its like a circus.

  • @HilleInc such is the twisted concept of unlife.

  • @Glass11 no its not, how would that be comedic? you sick bastrd

  • @HilleInc Yes it is especially part 1:50 lol Couldn't stop laughing at first when I heard it. Worst Necropolis theme ever. Even HOMM V was better, but rest of music is wonderful.

  • I really love the last part, really showing the true reality of necromancy between death and revival !

  • This is..different. Not as grim and sinister sounding as the previous themes. Maybe a little too cheerful at times, but I do like that the music doesn't force-feed the notion of necromancy being simply evil.

  • hmm... but i do find this tune depicts the beauty of death... which is eerily haunting

  • I like the music in Heroes VI from what I have heard so far. It really makes me want to go out and buy it ^ ^

  • Oh, and this track sucks!

  • Death has never been beautiful. I don't know why did the script writers decide so. It is either eternity, void and emotionless stasis (wh40k necrons), or everlasting torment of those damned to exist forever (most common concept). The very idea of "blissful serenity of death" is unnatural. All the game setting and atmosphere pretty suck because of exaggerated idealism and lusciously-golden-silver-awesome — and thus completely opposed to what we call realistic, stylistics.

  • @tYlK0o1sO1kG0vN7a1I1 Eternity in the void, emotionless and neverchanging. That is perfect, MMH6 has depicted that view. Myself and many others hold this belief. Existence is a flaw and imperfect, so the lack of everything is perfection. Necropolis just maintains the boundaries.

  • @NnoitoraSchiffer Then if Anastasya and a load of secondary necromancers are emotionless and neverchanging? A campaign hero must be an embodiment of a fraction's philosophy. This way she must be a girl who is devoid of any compassion and kindness, of either blood or tears, an indifferent harbinger of peace of death with a strong contempt and mercy for the living.

  • @tYlK0o1sO1kG0vN7a1I1 You are right, she should be. I was not proud of who the Necropolis hero was, but for the grand storyline it made sense. She didn't choose to join the Necromancers, so it was clear her philosophy and mind set was different. In fact, most of the main Necromancer heroes weren't the way they should be, but some are. They have to make characters interesting and relate able, although I believe they should be of one mind and purpose. That is true order.

  • @NnoitoraSchiffer The worst problem is that the very song is infused with a particularly different kind of calm beauty. It is more like the admiration of the magnificence and beauty of life, rather then "serenity of death". It inspires visions of a beautiful, grassy landscape, not the necropolis tombs. It is happy, with a note of bright sorrow in it. The very essence of life in death implies the feeling of darker sorrow, a final refuge from the passions of life, and the longing for the lost.

  • @tYlK0o1sO1kG0vN7a1I1 There, you are right. Although I can see what they were trying to do with this song. When I hear it I imagine the beauty of the massive Necropolis cities, but I can see how many wouldn't. Honestly, they had a different song that would have been perfect. I have no idea why they didn't use the song in their soundtrack "Ghosts of the Past"

  • @tYlK0o1sO1kG0vN7a1I1 dude, chill! It's just a game!

  • This is not a tradiotonal Necropolis theme by any sense, but people seem to ignore that the spider-goddess is an aspect of Asha, goddess of Order; the Necromancera aren't evil, simply, misunderstood. This music captures this quite well actually.

  • @HazBotRA The necropolis town theme from H5 and H3 make them seem evil :D

  • @lazarsmiljanic1996 The lore aspect of the Necropolis bringin peace and order was only added in HoMM V, the theme of which was a twisted version of the Haven theme, in which this aspect of peace wasn't justified in any way, in HoMM V the Necromancers WERE evil. Peace was an excuse. This was changed in HoMM VI in my opinion, for the better. HoMM III didn't have a unified Necropolis. It was that the characters had different goals. Some were evil. Others turned to death to escape from it.

  • @HazBotRA Necromancers in HoMM 5 were evil, all but one Arantir (in tribes of the east expansion), he was the only good necromancer and i like the idea that he's both the only good necromancer and the most powerful.

  • @lazarsmiljanic1996 As I said before while the idea of death being parallel to order was nice, they didn't carry the idea very well. In fact, the intelligence of the characters was severely flawed in HoMMV. Agrael: "I just saw an elf in a vision who told me to come to him with no explanation nor reason to do so. Sounds like a plan!"

  • @lazarsmiljanic1996 Depends on your point of view. Life is chaotic and will always bring suffering. So, to end chaos and suffering, they must end all life. I agree.

  • Are you kiding me ? THIS IS NECROPOLIS THEME ? ... MOTHER OF GOD.

  • @nazgul3456

Yeah, it absolutely doesn't correspond to necropolis aha. WTF did the dev do ?

  • crap.

  • This theme reminds me of Rayman..

  • eerily haunting... somehow this track gives me a strong peace of mind.....that's what the undead is all about.. eternal peace

  • Best track in the game IMO.

  • I love the progression of this piece.

  • Still HoMM 3 is the best Necropolis theme ever made in History of games... even ambients from Disciples 2.

  • the beginning sounds like spell force music :)

  • sorry.. but sounds like a disney "ghost train" theme. HOMM 4 and 5 themes are better.

  • @DeadEye0608 Yeah the fact that you quoted both disney and Homm4 really makes your opinions irrelevant to any heroes fans.

  • I agree that this theme does fit the "Death is beauty" ideal that the Necromancers hold. The one bit that use the "classic" (read, HoMM5) Necromancer theme is the looping part between 1:25 to 1:50. When I first heard that, I couldn't help but think: "Rise, my pretties. Rise!"

I don't mind this theme for the Necropolis at all, considering the time period they're set in.

  • crap... Heroes V and III necro theme is much better

  • Ashan necromancers are hypocrites, cheating death by turning into liches and vampires and all that jazz. And then those frickin' healers come and undo all their hard work.

  • Asha uses all.

  • 0:00-0:54 Someone discovers a dusty tome with arcane language, reads it and learns of the powers to bring back the dead.

0:54-1:27 That person tries out some of the enchantments and is marvelled by them.

1:27-1:50 Someone found it out and now the necromancer is pursued as a heretic.

1:50-2:08 He uses his powers to defend himself, as people watch shocked.

2:08-3:04 The necromancer finds out he's not alone; dozens of people want to join him in his cult of eternity. The world of Necropolis is born.

  • @xservintage can you make more of those comments at the other themes?

    They're so cool.

  • @BobXLeeXSwaggerX

Thanks. I might try to do them. ;)

  • Too bad it isn't as hard as in V or as intimidating as III, but still it's very good.

My favourite part is 1:50 - 2:05 it sounds like some sort of freaking haunted circus and it was a nice mindblow when i heard it first :)

  • 2:05 - 3:04 <3333333

  • This theme tells a story, rather than describes a mood or state of mind. A refreshing change in the HoMM series. :)

  • Necropolis 3 is much more better than this =.='

  • I liked Opera singing back in heroes 2...

  • 3 persons were resurrected as zombies!

  • this theme symbolizes the undead faction creates eternal beauty with peace and order by executing death. my most loved faction as it holds no sides of good nor evil. it remains its neutrality and seek that whenever which side causes any uproar.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, the old themes probably won't do for the epitomy of Lawful Neutral that the Necromancers are in this time period. Read the quote. This one fits the "beauty in Death" shtick perfectly.

  • as HoMM6 is a PREquel, its from the time where "academy" and necropolis were one faction. maybe we will witness in an ad-on how they split and build the 2.

but due to that story-line as of now, i think it fits well that they are a bit similar to each other.

  • What the Hell...its more like Academy music from HOMM5...i really dont like that

  • @AZAZELHellfire666

This is where the Necro faction just started to branch away from Academy so it makes perfect sense.

  • i only imagine some kind of zombie clowns

    awful theme

  • @roki10100 um... i think the mixture suites this faction, at least in homm6 i think so.

  • academy*

  • seriously thats sounds like somthing that will fit academic rather than necro, damn it why the hell they had to make it so egyptian now, i like the necro faction in h5 why ruin somthing so perfect?

all these new musics are totaly useless , they are too heavy, slow , takes more than 40 seconds until the interesting parts of the song starts, in less than 40 seconds anyone here can make somthing and go to kill empire instead, h5 necro music was perfect, and it was instant, you enjoyed every moment

  • @Roki10100

Necro was part of the academy faction during the time frame of this game.

  • @Roki10100

Seems like everyone disagrees with you. You Instant gratification types are so annoying. God forbid music builds on itself, god forbid video game music actually evolve into real orchestra.

  • @Ericanious everyone? nope, and besides i have all the right to express my opinion on the game that we all been waiting for, i liked necro theme music in the past without any academy style.

you have no idea about my music choices, your realy wrong about what you think of me, you should read my comment again if that waht you think.

the only musics i hear are game ost, and old time musics that are similar to bioshock and fallout.

  • @Ericanious look, the only factions that i liked were the necro and sylvan, and it was because of the troops and the music, so you can understand that music that start after a long while , and reminds me of academy that i dont like , makes me dissapointed that my favorite faction might not be my favorite anymore.

i didnt said the music wasnt good, i said it fits academy more and that by the time you reach the good parts of the music you already outside of town scouting and fighting..

  • @Roki10100 in heroes 5 every time you enter a town it doesnt start from scratch, but continues from where it was when you left

  • @johnpsychopower its starts all over again, the only moments that it keeps on from the point that you left it is when you buy troops

  • Heroes 5 necro theme anyone?

  • "Life is chaos, change, filth and suffering. Death is peace, order, everlasting beauty."
