  • This sounds amazing, think I might like it more than the english version.

  • and why the hell theres not even one single japanese in the whole video?

  • @gothicsakura

Because Leigh Nash is singing in Japanese - it isn't really a Japanese band..

  • just joking never mind hehe

  • why is Yoko Ono singing in English?

same thing! cause the world is a ball

    watch?v=MNwqV_HpMSE

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • is the vocalist have a blood of japanese

  • no, she's not even quarter japanese

  • for the money she made with this song , she would become even totally african hehe

  • well, i personally thought it was cool

  • WOW ! FANTASTIC !!!

  • she is the one who sings in jap as well?

  • Haha - co za głupi język :P

Piosenka w tym wykonaniu jest beznadziejna!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wou tenia una version en japones xD

    zi kedo xvr :3

    nice zong ^^

  • is there another word for kiss other than chu? there has to be right?

  • right, 'kuchiduke' meaning 'contact of mouths' literally, but it's old-fashioned and no one use it in verbal communication in these days. everyone, even older generations, call it 'kisu' = kiss.

btw, chu is a slang for kids though adults may use it only when they are talking to their lovers.

  • i figured chu was slang i've heard kisushite used thats what is shortened to kisu ne?

  • good version! It's dubbed over the video clip I wonder if its her singing though

  • I think it is... Leigh Nash has a very distinct voice...

  • I love this version now!

  • most of japanese versions by non-japanese sound terrible and wierd but this one is really good. sounds as natural as teresa teng's japanese for example.

  • We can't sell them cars, so sell them music..

  • lmao because our cars are life threatening XD

  • Can she really speak japanese?

  • adoro este tema y no sabia que habia una version en japones..

    aaahhhhhhhhhh..q`lendo...

    n_n

  • wow...this is one of my favorite songs and I've never heard it in another language until now. She sings Japanese really well....

  • I love the lead singer. She's awesome.

  • idk which side i like the japanese version or the english version. both good and its light and awesomeness ^++++++++++++++++++++++++^

  • Haaaahahahahhahahahahhahahahahah....sorry.

  • すごいな!日本語で野方が格好いいですね。

  • why does she say 'kiss me' in english?you don't have these words in japanese?

  • Ever thought that maybe it might not flow?

And plus; a lot of songs in different asian languages will use a quick few english words.

  • Well in Japanese.. plenty of girls say 'kissu shite' (except not to me).. so of course 'kiss me' is perfectly is perfectly understandable to them... in fact I remember some school kids with English skills that would be more at home with 'Rage Against the Machine' (f*** you motherf***er)

  • @mlastina

"Kiss me" would roughly be "Atashi ni kissu shite", I believe (I'm a little rusty!). So yeah, it doesn't exactly flow with the song.

  • atshi leaving out the w? XD it's funny hw every language has a letter they leave out in the pronounciation of some words XD

i think you're right but could it also be "watashi no kissu shite?"

  • atasahi is a female only version of watashi

  • ahhh WAKATA!

  • 日本語は文も発音もたどたどしいけど、曲のよさと歌の上手さと卓越した表現力で最高の曲になってますね。

  • Haha x}

    Weird...

    Kinda cool though...

    SHWEET!

Like it more the orginal way though.

    This song is f-ing beautiful!

    I love it!

  • this is actually kinda cool

  • And now i can it in 3 languages ;

    Dutch

    English

    Japanese

    <3

  • 日本語の発音うますぎwww

  • XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD

  • the scenes are part of a movie called "she's all that"

    it's a great movie!

    it was so cute

    love the song :3

  • the tv in the inglish version has scenes fron dwson's creek, this version's tv has scenes from a movie with fredie prince junior XD

  • I like it!

I'm used to the english version but this version is cute too.

  • Kawaii !!!

    arigato.

    Nihongo ha subarashi.

  • ITS SO CUTE ;o

  • Wenn sie schon japanisch singt, keiner vesteht was?? Kann sie doch auch mal deutsch singen!!! Ich versteh nu7r Bahnhof!

  • I find this japanese version quite cute, and I'm pretty sure that it's leigh nash voice, there's no doubt about it. Besides this song is sooo beautiful no matter what the language is anyway.

  • I think you are right SweetySpy.. and it is cute.. I don't know if you listen to much J-pop.. but for me it is a nice change...

No matter what language? I doubt it would sound that good in Zulu, what with all the consonant clicks...

  • I do listen to J-pop music, coz I actually love asian musics, that's why I can really appreciate this version.

  • This is total WIN!!!

  • it's cute!!! haha! : )

  • It's in the official US CD, so I'm pretty sure she sang it.

  • I don't think thats her. I think someone else sang it.

  • wait a minute.. do they intentionally make the japanese version? for what purpose? if for entering the japanese market, why can't leave it as it is (in english)? because it seems that japanese people also like/want to learn english too, right?

and pls tell me, is this video for the japanese-version, or it's the SAME as the english/american version?

does an artist/band have to make another different video-clip everytime they want to make another language-version ? or not?

  • @nikiwonto

It is the original video. I think it is her singing it, as it doesn't sound all that Japanese. When she sings the English parts she sounds completely natural - compare it to all those J-pop songs where they sing some Jinglish lines and you're thinking 'WTF?'

The Japanese sounds a little bit unnatural.. so based on those two points.. I am assuming it is her singing in Japanese..

If it were a Japanese singer, I'd love to know who it was, she has an unusual voice..

  • "she has an unusual voice"

    BUT... a beautiful one!!!

  • @sweetxrapturedxlight

    "BUT... a beautiful one!!! "

For sure. If it were a Japanese singer - it is a beautiful voice for a J-pop singer...

Leigh Nash sounds great singing Japanese... she should do that instead of country.. well at least I think she should, although I doubt her musical career is based on impressing me...

  • LOL I never knew Japanese+English = Jinglish :)

  • Yes Griffin

Jinglish... and in Japan we referred to it as Nihonglish (Nihongo being Japanese for 'Japanese' + English)....

You ever want some interesting 'Nihonglish' just about anything by X-Japan will suffice..

  • Yay X Japan!!!!!!

  • I thought it was Japanglish. lol

  • hm, I think it sounded better in english

  • She sounds a bit gaijin... the 'hora goran' bit sounds a bit gaijinteki.. but she can sing and her voice has a bit more depth than many J-girl pop singers.. Hope she does more Japanese songs...

Was listening to that Queen song "te wo toriatte" today... Freddy Mercury singing in Japanese was awesome.... I wish they did more of that...

  • なんてことだ! 彼女はそうよい愛この歌である!

    she is so good

  • SO CUTE!

  • the voice sounds pretty similar to the original one, is it really her? she speaks very fluently and clearly, it's cool =D

  • The japanese she speaks is clear

    Is she Jap?

  • Well she may be (probably) a professional singer, they often learn only whats needed to sing the song without knowing the language

  • what is the point really?

  • lol it's cute^^

  • I love this!

    ぉヴぇ 祖こおl!

  • it's funny:)

  • WOW

  • wow... lo mas raro es que suena muy bien

  • cute :] nice in japanese too x3

  • Japanese use scraps of English in their pop songs all the time. How is this any different and why does it make people angry?

God forbid Americans get all multilingual. Surely a travesty.

  • i like it in japanese.. i think it's cool

everyone doesn't like to listen to songs in english ya knw.. i was born in japan so i can relate

  • Pues Sixpence None The Richer lo181990

  • nice version...

  • 海外のアーティストって日本語で歌ってもカッコイイね^^

  • Its the still Leigh Nash singing it so I don't see a problem.

  • What's the problem... seriously...-__-

  • the movie in the video is called "she's all that"

    it's a kool movie

    u shuld see it

  • What's that movie?

  • Omg.. The Japanese version of "Kiss Me" Is just phenomenal, her voice sounds like she's singing Japanese fluently.

  • Actually IT IS Leigh singing that song in Japanese. They just didn't re-recorded the MV. Why should they anyway?

  • It isn't her singing in Japanese. It is dubbed, like the Godzilla movies. Look at 1:24 through 1:33 and read her lips:

Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat

We'll take the trail marked on your father's map

  • Is it her singing? If it isn't, good impression.

  • esta cancion la canta en japones la misma chica que la canta en ingles?

  • Creo que sí. Yo no estoy seguro. Perdone mi español malo, mi lengua materna es inglesa.

  • muchas gracias xD te entendi perfectamente

  • her voice is perfect for the japanese version - she sounds like one of those J-pop idols.

    Luv this!!!

  • At least they picked a japanese singer that sounded like her and if it is her I'm very impressed

  • awesome vid!! even though she can't really speak japanese, she sang it well

  • it sounds so lovely in japanese :)

and i also wanted to learn how to dsy kiss me in japanese and its the same damn thing ! xD

  • she reminds me of amelie. sweet

  • kawaii

  • damn just my luck i wanted to learn to say kiss me in japanese and its one of the only parts in english

  • Japanese is a sweet-sounding language ;)

  • she ain't singing in japanese she's singing in english in the vid but they have to do her voice over in japanese then put it on the video. duh people she doesn't know japanese. This is a great band and a outrageous singer and all but they're american and don't know how to speak japanese cause if they did then the words she says in japanese would make the same movements with her lips.

  • thank god not everyone on here is retarded and thinks she is fluent in japanese

  • Oh dear lord, get a clue. So what if it's the english video with the japanese put over it. Tell me you aren't ignorant to think they're out to trick you.

  • No one said that. We just said she's not really speaking in japanese so get your head out of your butt and realize your ignorance before you try to criticize anyone because if you were'nt ignorant you'd notice that we were just stating the truth and telling those who had a false asumption the damn truth so piss off because you're tryna catch an atittude and get smart with someone when you can't realize you own ignorance first so you can't talk you worthless waste of skin.

  • The audio is what's in japanese... Most people can already tell that she's not singing in japanese in the video, what are you mad about?

  • because you're sitting here tryna fuckin call someone ignorant for explaining something and actin like ur ass is this oh so smart person yet your ass can't even fuckin realize was the hell the situations bout so don't go judging people and calling someone ignorant when your ass can't even grasp what it is that the situation's about so don't fucking critize when your ass can't even figure out when somone's explaining a situation asshole.

  • I'm not even reading that until you use some punctuation and explain who tryna is.

  • Learn that language from Naruto?

Take it easy, it's the internet.

Also, this song is really good in both languages, so it doesn't matter.

  • errr, i think you have misunderstood, it obvious that she is singing English in the video, im sure your well aware of that already, but the audio is in Japaneses. So the official music video was in English, the user probably edit the video and placed the Japaneses audio instead of the English

  • it sounds so soft in japanese =]

  • :55 - 1:00

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Leigh was fluent in Japanese. Wow.

  • It is quite beautiful

  • O: i luv it <33 i didn't know there was a japanese version<33 thank you for uploading

    LOVE YOA<123

  • この きょく が とてもいい ですね、I love 'sixpence'.

    Leigh Nash の 歌声 優し です と おもいますね。この ビデオ は、どうもありがとう ございます。

  • Omgz!! this is awesome... a song i actually play .... with Japanese lyrics??

  • I first heard this one last Aug. My boyfriend is English, and he was a teacher in Japan for a year, and he has this on his Ipod:) Thanks Chris:)

  • Luv this song! but I like English one better.. cuz itd b more natural

  • why is "so kiss me" in english here? just wondering.

  • They obviously have ways of saying that in Japanese, but normally in entertainment or marketing, you often find foreign words slipped in. It's most likely an attention grabber, and a way to increase the appeal of the song.

  • Also it is a Japanese thing. I watch alot of anime. Alot of anime theme songs have english in them.

  • Often times the genral audience in Japan like to pick up forign words to use in conversation because it's 'cool' like how western movies use a japannese goodbye "syonara" because they were inspired by samarai movies (compare the movie 'fist full of dollors' to 'yojimbo' it's almost word for word) except in japan it's usally pronounced "kissu" look up the song 'Sakura Kiss' for a good example in anime. ^_^

  • In a lot of Japanese songs (especially popular songs), English words and phrases are thrown in here and there. :D

  • Domo Arigato!
