  • 2 people are named Billy Rubin.

  • 2 people are bitter cos they don't have bilirubin

  • thank you, you've helped me understand jaundice for my exam on monday!!

  • can u die from jaundice?

  • @babYDOLL908 as said, jaundice isn't a condition in itself, more a symptom of many possible conditions. Some conditions which cause jaundice are fatal, for example hepatitis and pancreatic cancer.

  • you're missing a step: the initial metabolism (heme --> biliverdin --> bilirubin) occurs in macrophages (the reticuloendothelial system), and only then is the bilirubin transported via albumin to the liver.

  • i have gilbert´s syndrome (increase indirect bilirubin), but there is no natural cure for it :/

  • i was born with jaundice they treated me with a box with alot of light

  • great help for me.

  • I need to sell some books, please get your classmates to buy a Physiology book and a Pathophysiology book from

    campbellteaching.co.uk

    thanks, John

  • nice info.. thanQQQ so much

  • @AntonioQuijano HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. yes they do and the characters are showing no signs of improvement.

  • @AntonioQuijano

    loooooooooooooooooooool

  • subtitles???thanks...in library no sound allowed.

  • can bilirubin between 2.0 to 3.0 is normal

  • @Jackooz , the jaundice should subside as 40% of normal babies and 70% of premies suffer from physiological jaundice (as opposed to pathological) which is absolutely normal. It's just that their livers are still not fully functioning yet. Keep your baby in the sun, the condition should subside in a couple days. (Usually 2 weeks since the 2nd or third day)

Btw, was he or she born jaundiced, or did the jaundice appear 2 or 3 days after birth?

  • i already had my baby blood check up for jaundice case, total bilirubin 214.93 , direct bilirubin 38.80 do i need to admit my baby to hospital? or do you have any idea of alternative treatment for my baby? tnx

  • how old is your baby?

  • she's 11 days old.

  • haemolosis (sp?) kinda looks like pacman!

  • my cat has this :( shes 15 and a half

  • wow just amazing. i learn so much from you and so little from my instructors!

  • i have jaundice yellow eyes

  • INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE

  • argggh i had it for 5 weeks when i was a baby and i think it has came back

  • I had it as a baby as well - although I'm from Northern Europe I've always had a yellow/brown tint to my skin. Unless your eyes are suddenly going yellow I wouldn't worry about it too much! ^_^

  • you are the man! thanks sir!

  • good teacher

  • excllent lecture! just one remark : the bile duct and pancreatic duct attach to the second part of the duodenum at the ampulla of vater.

    Thanks

  • This guy got confused at 6:32 he say biliverdin is the oxidised version of biliverdin when he meant bilirubin
