@hiosmastic I'll give you that, socialism and communism in their idealized versions don't work, but neither does capitalism. I think countries like Sweden and Denmark have the right idea, they both have a socialist ethos but still have private property law and people have the possibility to improve their circumstances. Taxes are high in these countries but everyone benefits from this, both high and low earners. Sweden also has a high standard of living and a successful economy.

I think countries like Sweden and Denmark have the right idea, they both have a socialist ethos but still have private property law and people have the possibility to improve their circumstances. Taxes are high in these countries but everyone benefits from this, both high and low earners. Sweden also has a high standard of living and a successful economy.

Let's talk about governments then. I am well travelled (non-military) and have lived in 5 different countries. European governments are just as screwed up only on a smaller scale. As a whole Europe owes a shit load more money than America and we are all going to feel it more and more. Are any of our governments really taking care of us or are they just putting things off by piling up debt and leaving it to the next lot. GB owes about 9 TRILLION dollars and does your government tell you that?

Between European Union and individual country debt of only the original 13 it comes to a debt of well over 35 Trillion dollars. We are all living in a house of cards and all our governments try and hide the facts from us. Look up list of countries external debt and then go back to sleep (all of you). All governments want you to shut up and believe what they tell you. Go to work, watch the telly, eat your pizza and keep quiet and you can go out on a Friday/Saturday night!

@hiosmastic I greatly admire your families achievements but I think you are missing my point! Its not about handouts its about equality! why should your father have had to go to such extra ordinary lengths just to get an education? Because he was born into a poor family? Some financial assistance would have meant that he could have worked one job instead of two. Its about giving the most vulnerable members of society a chance in life, its about compassion.

Only the rich in America like this country! The poor, especially those with foreign education do hate this country! This country is also butt ugly! No architecture, no history, no art, no classical music, no decent people - everyone in competition with each other! I want to throw up or wash my hands with a hot water and a soap when I deal with most of the americans! Screw american lifestyle!
