Hmmm....Yoko's kinda a blabbermouth, but at least she explained the "Dark is Not Evil" trope to Soma and all was better. I suppose it also helps that she's easy on the eyes, which is weird to say between not caring for blondes (or anyone, really) and usually not noticing fictional characters. I think I just really like the portraits for (later) Castlevanias.

Anyway, that Whip Sword seems like it was made to fight that boss, but I can understand not wanting to become Ivy with her absurd boobs.

As far as I can tell, you've played through this game once or twice, and still have a bunch of things left to learn. IMO that's a recipe for an awesome LP, you know what you're doing, but we get to see you learn new things.

I used the Bastard sword and the buer soul (blue) to beat the giant armor. I works quite well, and you can spawn a buer in the room you meet Yoko in. Use the left entrance to the room for easy grinding. Quick, painless, make sure you wait to see if you get the soul each time, otherwise you may leave before you gain the soul.

If you miss only 25% of your swings due to lack of reach, switching to a longer range weapon with 33 attack compared to your current 36 means trading a ~8% drop in damage for 33% increase in hits, boosting your overall damage by 20%. You'll get hit less and progress faster.

That Whip Sword was only marginably less powerful than the Baselard, but - judging by its name - has a lot better range; which would have helped tremendously against the Gaint Armor, don't you think? :P

Quick thing to note Roahm, weapons aren't all about their strength.

Some weapons swing in better angles, have better range, greater speed, ect.

Always good to find the right weapon for the right place such as this big boss with the shield.

The Whip Sword would have been very good to tear into his ankles.

Experiment with a few weapons to find yourself a good set of stuff to use! ;D

@RoahmMythril The melon heals 600 hp. So yeah if a player does manage to find it when you did, it's pretty much a super potion to them, unless they level grinded so much that they had over 600 hp already.

If this game is anything like Dawn of Sorrows, you should be able to backdash out of attack. Real helpfull with the slower weapons, backdash imediately after you hit then attack again to attack faster.

The whip sword, yessss. This is the weapon I mentioned a couple videos back as being my favorite weapon in the game, much more so than any of the late game ones. It's a fantastic ranged weapon and it was a shame to not see it in Dawn of Sorrow... though I use the spears in Dawn of Sorrow much more than anything else. :3

Just to add to the comment on the last video, in certain situations using a weapon with a lightly lower damage rating may be useful if you get more range in return. It's a worthwhile compromise with certain enemies like that mid-boss

Yes, the whip sword is worth it, mainly because of it's incredible range starting out. When it comes to the armor, even the hammer is a better choice because I think blunt attacks affect the armor more than slash attacks.

Baselard: Because having a weapon which is more stronger than many other weapons in early game be dropped by first enemies is good.

Then again, DOS did also same thing with Axe Armor dropping Axe, which family is psychically strongest weapons and you meet them really early on

Also, Hammer is one of most badass characters in Castlevania history. I mean, he raids the castle for his stuff.

Catoblepas tip. You can jump on their backs. It's a smallish area around the middle of their hit box but you can jump on them and they can't touch you.

You can stand on the back of Catoblepas and its pallet swap like it was a platform, just something to keep in mind. Also, keep in mind that a weapon might be weaker statistically, but is better for other reasons (elements like ghost=holy, range like the whip sword, attack speed/rate like kaiser knuckles) That knife is a joke for range and only has a decent attack for early game.
