Phantastic Version ! Great playing and singing ! Buddy was so influental on Rock music. Unfortunately this is often forgotten today. The Stones version of that song is one of my all time favorites.
You are brllliant not only at this one but all of them. Best we've ever heard. My husband Iain says it is better thanthe original, and to write a tab for it. E. mailed our son down south to listen to it. He and Iain are good on the guitar and great Buddy Holly fans and Eddie Cochrane. Yvonne n Iain the auld anes fae Bonnie Scotland
@Rickenbackerpicker yours is the only version that i have actually seen that's any good, the last one I saw the guy looked like an idiot. this is brillant. well done. Chris
lovely cover version mate!! i am a massive rock and roll/rockabilly fan, buddy holly being one of my all time favourite artists!!! love the sound you get from the rickenbacker, having said that, i cant go past a 6120 Gretsch!!
eveytime i hear this song it makes me think of myself drivin a 58 Plymouth fury down the street listenin to this great song. nothin like the 50's. great cover
i was watchin your stuff man you got a great appreciation for real rock n roll its nice to see in the age of brittney and fergie people are tryin to keep real music alive great work man
Wow, this is great! I thought this was the first time I'd ever heard NFA played on a Ric, but then I remembered seeing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' version of the song. I like the sound you get...between the guitar and your vocal, it's so full.
I love it when somebody has a neat new idea to approach this song with...without messing it up. Great work!
I love the way that Rickenbacker sounds playing this song! Awesome cover! I really took great inspiration from your version when I was working on this song. I recently added my acoustic cover of Not Fade Away. It's actually just about my favorite Buddy Holly song.
Buddy Holly saw and heard BO DIDDLEY,,dumped his NERD GLASSES got him some BLACK HORNRIMMED ONES and the rest is HISTORY. "INNOVATOR,ORIGINATOR,ROCK&ROLL GLADIATOR "BO DIDDLEY"
Very top notch job, you look very natural and relaxed playing it! Lot of us Buddy Holly fans are still out there... Thank you for doing a unique version all your own.
your begging to piss me off now! you are BRILLIANT! (Bastard) . . please keep em coming.
what i love is that you don't try to sound like Buddy when you sing, but the Guitar sound and technical ability is about as close as anything i have heard. Thanks.
Awesome version of an awesome song, you sound ood man :)

Great guitar! Great Sound!
And for all the nitpickers... Buddy used several different guitars, depending on what he was after.
Mainly a Fender Strat, yes... but not only a Strat and not only Fender.
Rickenbackerpicker, you've captured the sound and the feel - and that's what rock n roll is all about.

Love the Rickenbacker and that retro mic.
Sounds great. I want to try this on my Fender.
It's just a Strat but should sound ok on this song.

Buddy holly was a Strat guy, you should be fine.
