  • Seriously... did you print your own glasses?

  • @SuperACDCfan4ever You haven't looked at what these things cost before this came around I'm guessing. A cheap one was around 20 grand, and skyrocketed from there.

  • Lol, nice 3d glasses.

  • No tooth shine at the end? Can't wait to have the money to get one

  • For what it does I think the price is good (at least relative to everything else on the market right now) what puts me off is the having to wait 2 months!

  • why are you wearing empty glases frames?

  • @christophertaylor87 because he printed them

  • Fake glasses? Why?

  • Very nice!

  • I would like to see a model that has been sanded and painted to see what can be done with it!

  • I don't understand all the negative moronic comments. Honestly, this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen for its price.

  • It's very happy to see that video. Nice.

  • I'm a mechanical engineer and I build cars in my spare time, I've really wanted to jump into the 3D printing realm for a long time now but I'm afraid that the applications I want to use it for are beyond the capabilities of devices like this. Primarily I want to build replacement electrical connectors housings for classic cars, in a lot of instances these can be impossible to find, I can build the 3D model but I'm afraid that the printing wont be accurate enough for my housings to mate properly.

  • As cool as it is, I bet it costs a shitload of money...

  • i want one of these! think of all the 3d art i can sell!!! *U*

  • 1:50

"We took a bunny, and we sliced it up."

  • I'd love to print my own action figured and then paint them *__*

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  • That was the cheesiest thing i have ever seen...

  • Pirate action figures??

  • i will make a objekt in google sketchup and than print it.

  • But how do I run the machine in a post apocalyptic world when there is no one is supplying energy?!?

  • @slimjim88 I thought that was obvious re-purpses an old boiler in the husk of a building from before the world ending even into a steam powered turbine to generate electricity... if you know how to make a generator anyways

  • hi bre

  • Did you print your glasses?

  • Replicator?

    'Tea. Earl grey. Hot'

  • If i could download some doritos and be able to eat it i would buy it in a heartbeat <3. That's what i thought it did at first actually but its still pretty cool.

  • Why are you wearing glasses with no lenses.... Are you 12

  • @JohnCook125 Technical reasons. I'm guessing it's done because of reflections as you can see in earlier video.

  • Glass for his glasses are too mainstream. fuckin' hipsters

  • is it rubber, plastic. is it?

  • @BREBOYDE Its ABS plastic.

  • I saw one of these at a career conference in October

  • W O W

  • But will it blend?

  • @ingo007 No one gave you thumbs up??? Your comment is golden!

  • jj

  • khs;

  • ds

  • نايس

  • Net

  • Dean Hodes

  • $1,100 for the first model and $1,750 for this one, $40-90 for the plastics, you've gotta have deep pockets to be able to afford one of these.

  • what just happend

  • I heard about this thing in class. it must take forever to make an object. :P

  • Mr. Pettis from Eckstein Middle School!!!!!!!

  • But can it print coffee?

  • :/

  • The only thing left to do now is to make it smaller, have an unlimited plastic supply and somehow hoow it up with the human body, and ofcourse make it so it can make actual mechanisms.

  • Very gd

  • Very gd

  • this must take forever

  • I know a thing or two about 3ds Max and I have a few ideas of stuff I'd like to print (Mainly a model of my dog) but this thing is $2000 retail. Oh well, maybe one day.

  • For the general pop.? What does it cost, $45,000?

  • Is it accurate enough to make custom lego peices?

  • It is a nice print, there. Whats the deal with getting a smooth finish on objects?

I mean, can you bog it up and sand it back easily? Cause, you can in my mind. You see, I'm WAY exited about this because i shall own mine in perhaps 10-12 weeks.

My techy friend has been pressing me to get one and start printing out some cases for all manner of handheld devices he's designing since I showed him the reprap vids years ago.

The only thing is he's a bit skeptic about the ridges from the extrusion.

  • What hapened to the bunny? there are little gaps around the body?.

  • he said "let me give you the low down", i now can familiarize with him and now somehow trust him..

  • stop talking and make something !!!!!!!!!!

  • "In this case we've taken a bunny, and we've sliced it up!"

    D:

  • How were you guys able to design this so that it didn't need support plastic like some if the higher end printers, like Dimension's printers?

  • when will u put a dualstrution video?

  • This guy sounds just like Napoleon Dynamite...

  • Machine is not intended for general uses. Most people likely to buy this machine is one who do CAD/3D design related stuff. I can see how useful and how awesome it is to be able to print my own design in real time. However I'd like to see it print more complex figurine with fine details.

  • @tredeponline This machine IS intended for general use. It's easy to use with ZERO knowledge of CAD/3D design! Just go to thingiverse and download 1 of over 15,000 objects for free!

  • @tredeponline Pirate Bat has a section for printable models now. You can get objects from there.

  • Do you do any give aways i really want one for my family? Please I hope you do THANKS.

  • This thing is awesome!

  • totally ...fake glasess wha`s the point???

  • @atinaoliver probably made them in the makerbot, lol.

  • I see a companion cube! :)

  • If I put the same color in each of the dual extruders will it print twice as fast?

  • @kindlink No glass in his glasses! LOL I think you're right!

  • great job, thanks for posting!

  • he has no glass in his glassess

  • @kindlink I think they're 3d printed glasses.

  • @kindlink He normally wears regular glasses, but when he's making these videos, he wears lensless ones so there wouldn't be so much lighting glare, as you can see it reflecting from his frames.

  • @kindlink Actually, he does. Every now and then you can see the lenses reflecting the light behind the camera.

  • @kindlink I hate it when people wear glasses when they dont need them

  • @kindlink the ultimate hipster

  • @kindlink that means he is a hipster

  • Ist das Plastik Schädlich?

  • @MsGreenVoice It doesn't destroy/create matter, it works like a hot glue gun. It melts the ABS (LEGO plastic) and squirts it out.

  • That is fake! hey dude do you have faith in the principle of mass/matter conservation!

I really believe that saying !:

" mass cannot be created or destroyed, although it may be rearranged in space and changed into different types of particles "

  • Time laspe video--it took 3 weeks to 'print' the bunny.

  • @sfzNotes The Big bunny takes about 10 hours to prink

  • did he print his glasses?

  • Forget plastic. Make the bunny out of chocolate!

  • @Smurfacation Check out the MakerBot Frostruder!

  • The one thing I'm not really sure about is the spool. I know some other 3D printers use a cartridge instead of the spool and I think that is a better setup. It's still pretty nice though considering the price.

  • I am so ready to get one - I just need higher resolution!! Is there an option to forego the dual head for a higher resolution nozzle?

  • Makerbot blows the competition out of the water again. Bre, you're a natural on camera.

  • i wish i had the money for one of these but i dont think i could ever afford that asnd yes i know they are under a grand

  • Nice shirt Bre!

  • Hooray for the 3d Printing revolution!
