really like the fact you were trying to show what sleep deprivation is like. Trust me this has happened to me. But the make up was taken to a whole new level lol, you looked like someone beat you up. Good video tho.
people you actually shouldnt deprive yourself of sleep, i did for 1 night, yeah just 1 night and nearly got hit by a bus because i was sleep/awake, proper weird.
i think this is a wonderful piece - was really just looking up sleep studies for psychology, but came across your video. i love it! are you the protagonist? if so, how did you manage to take the photographs so accurately? i'm assuming this is stop-animation, but correct me if i'm wrong.
I love the idiocy of some comments on here. This film isn't a scientific documentary, it's a piece of art, it doesn't have to be realistic, that's the beauty of art it can be whatever you want. If you only find enjoyment in things that are scientificly realistic then I feel sorry for you. I thought the film was really good, very emotive, it invoked feelings experienced in similar situations despite not being what actually happened.
BRILLIANT!!! I JUST HAD TO LAUGH!!! albeit a sico laugh, but i've experienced this, so i just thought of all my friends who have too - i'm sending it onto them! i LOVE your happy ending when things are ALL GOOD AGAIN, cos EVENTUALLY, yes that magical, wonderful sleep does come to enfold you :)
This is so wrong. You wont hallucinate after not sleeping for a night. Sleep deprivation is when you have not slept from around 3 days or more which causes you to hallucinate and more. But sleep deprivation is not after losing a nights sleep. I can not sleep for two days and i wont hallucinate
you're a retard. read the comment. it specifically tells you a) it's art. doesn't have to be realistic, ever heard of abstract? b) it's not to be taken seriously.
wow you people are so ridiuclously stupid. don't criticize. if you want to make a documentary about sleep disorders, go ahead. there's no need to critique a piece of art to make you sound oh-so high and mighty with such endless knowledge when your "intelligence" is of no relevance at all, anyway.
search this on youtube "Secrets of sleep - the man who never slept" its about a man who had a disease that damaged the part of his brain that allowes one to fall asleep. He was awake for 6 months.
Every night I get no more then four hours of sleep, I've been prescribed anti-depressants and didn't take my med and also anti-anxiety meds even though I don't have anxiety or panic attacks. The only complaints I've heard about me is I'm short tempered. =P Its 4:01am right now and I've got to be up at 9am.
im doing an experiment right now, see how long i can stay awake for. it's only been 2 days so far. Pretty pointless really...dunno why im telling you...
you should look into that a radio dj in america didnt sleep for charity and due the laak of rest gained from sleep his brain began to suffer, he was going mad. after the charity event he wasnt normal again and he lost his job and his family. just some random information for you, you can find it in an a2 psychology txt book im sure lol
extreme sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations and even pyschosis. I know because i've stayed up four days before and the threshold between reality and fantasy faded and i was dreaming with my eyes open.
that must have been quite an amazing experience though, u gotta admit. I'd love to get that sometime. But yeah the side effects can be harmful too i know..
right now, it's been 23 hours since im awake, no coffee or any stimulant, and dang my eyes hurt as im writing this.
Oh yeah it's fuckin awesome. It's just like what you know shouldn't be just looks so real. Like i remember this one time chasing a shadow that i saw around my coffee table. And another i was dreaming with my eyes open on my couch and realized it prolly wasn't a good thing.
No it wasn't a happy expirience. It was pretty extreme. It is hard to explain but you don't snore. You're fully awake but shit just looks like a dream. The longer you stay up the more extreme it becomes. It can be really fun though and the fact that it's free is cool.
freestyler002 your dam ignorant...if youve only researched and had no experience with sleep dep mabye you should keep your opinions to yourself...ive stayed up for 6 days before, the world record is 11 days so no,its not impossible,You will feel extremely disoriented but you do eventually come back to normal if your brain is healthy enough to cope with the psychedelic experience that comes from sleep deprivation.
great vid n not bein funny but guys hu r sayin theve gone a week witout sleep, well first as if lol n then they say there fine, impossible thats all im gonna say,, research it n ul find out why
its not hard to do, an how do you know it's bs? people in studies go longer then a week by themselfs with no medication to keep them up or anything....soo be quiet
I know because I have studied A level psychology and have studied the effects of sleep dep on the brain, after a week brain function is seriously impaired, speech slurred, hallucinations!!! longest anyone in the WORLD has lastet is 11 days. lab rats deprived of sleep died after 3 weeks. soooo BS!!!
WOW!! Ash and Joel well done, excellent video, looks like me at 4am, whens the next video out? All the best from your Aunt in NZ, Love Shelly and Paul xxx
Thats really really good! It is so under-rated.. A short part of it should be a TV Advert to make teenagers (like me) that sleep is important or something. Could even be used as a drugs awareness advert.
REALLY REALLY GOOD! (Send it to the BBC/Channel 4)

LOL. I microsleep at 15minute intervals throughout the day, getting about 3 hours total sleep and I'm fine.

This video makes a big deal of nothing, I get about 2/3 hours a night of sleep and that's it and I'm fine with things.
If you spend most of your time 'trying' to get to sleep, nothing will happen; you just have to do it.
jameswsparker 2 years ago
seems to me this video is about being a pussy over sleep deprivation.
i have lived 6 in a half years with just 3-5 hours of sleep a night. sometimes none. stop making a big deal about it.

If you are awake for 2 days straight, the average human's brain will shut your body down and make you go into an automatic sleep.

A guy named Thai Ngoc in Vietnam got a fever when he was young and said he hasn't slept since, and said its been 33 years!!
At least that's how long it said in the articles i've read. i don't know how old they are though..
DrLsw 3 years ago
You couldn't survive that long if humans can only last 3 days with out water, 1 week without Food and 7 days without sleep
so 3 days without sleep is nothing bad but damages your body badly if i am not wrong
Btw if he didnt sleep for 33 years you could always use the Article's Date and minus it
runefan213 3 years ago
lol the 7 days with out sleep is bs i've done it and there's people who have gone 11 some days without sleep
And if the Thai Ngoc thing isn't true then owell, but some of our science and how we think things work isn't true and we need to change it
DrLsw 3 years ago
The human body can only live 10 days without sleep and THEN YOU DIE.
