My daughter saw your clip, and she start laughing in suprise, "Oh, My God! she speaks Chinese! She's Chinese..." dont be offended, she's only 5... and she said your cookie looks very yummy. :)
I'm going to try this with my oldest son. We live in Cali(from IN, been here for 3 1/2 yrs) and we both have friends from different ethnic backgrounds at our schools and sometimes his classmates bring a dish to school and some of my friends/classmates and I talk about the different dishes we grew up on. So, now my son and I are going to try Chinese, Japanese, African dishes.
@chilid856 It's awesome to try new things...even if we find out later that we aren't too into it, at least we tried it. Do you like Cali more than IN or do you miss home?
@maplepoon no clue, but you should be careful wherever you go so you don't get ripped off. Always go shopping with an expert bargainer! lol...especially at Lady's Market in Hong Kong.
my favorite cookie that pumpkin cookies, they may sound strange but the are wonderful, I make about 5-6 dozen at a time, so my friends can have some (I try to had a few for me too)
going to try your receipt tomorrow if the power is still on, sounds like a cold weather project
@EZGlutenFree >_< the good things seem to always be loaded with fat, sugar or salt...that's why my goal is to make it healthier and still taste good! :D
I like crackers more than cookies. Especially crackers with simple, almost neutral taste. Anyway, thank you very much for another interesting recipe, Miki-san! \m/
@MikisPantry thank you for teaching us your Way of Food!
There's a lot of ways to change oneself to better (Way of Sword, Way of Brush, Way of Language Learning etc.) I found your approach to the Way of Food very interesting and useful.
@borodion hehe, thanks! :D I would recommend people to use whole wheat flour instead but since I didn't use it, I don't want to tell people that. I would totally use it but I bake too much and they don't sell it in big bags at Costco (a wholesale warehouse with more affordable stuff). You know what I mean?
@MikisPantry yes i know what you mean. Whole wheat flour availiable in Russia of course. And here exist possibility to buy whole wheat flour directly from flour mills if you need a large amount of it.
Here (especially in provincial towns like mine) are some problems with obtaining components for japanese cuisine because most of russians knows only about sushi, rolls and miso soup. For some strange reason, for example, yuba here known as asparagus (O-o)
I like the Chinese egg roll cookies
