  • You missing some grace notes, and what would you suggest for dynamics?

  • Hi,

My daughter is 7 and just went to the grade 6 exam on november we found out she didn't pass do you have any tips?

    Thanks

  • Omg you got no head! freaky man. btw missing some trills and lift your left thumb up.

  • differs from how i play

  • y u didnt do d 'thrill' 1 ???

  • You are really good!! I am taking that piece as well for grade 6 in about 6 months :)

  • very good tempo, not rushed or anything of that sort. you kept it the same throughout the whole piece, perfect for a barhoque pieriod piece.

  • I have to play this in my exam tomorrow. Admittedly, it's not quiet a pig to learn as some of the other pieces, but if you rush it it feels like your fingers are knotting together, and not in a good way. :P

  • My teacher is letting me choose A2 or A1, im definitely choosing this!

  • My Gade 6 exam is in 5days....you missed out a couple of trills? But other than that, it's good.

  • watching this, i am screwed for in 3 weeks when i do my exam :/

  • how did u play 0:50...?the way u played it sounded nice.

  • @alanchan How do you play the triplet? I founf them very hard to play... It is too fast.

  • I think you should have played all of the trills instead of some of them and you put no dynamics in! It can be so much more interesting with these things :)

  • @missbanana3 As itsGregor have said, dynamics are left to the player's discretion. Do you even have the ABRSM 2011 & 2012 Grade 6 book?

  • @missbanana3 The song is a technical piece...the point is that there are little dynamic changes, it's more about the "interesting" melody. Howvever I agree with you on the trills.

  • @at unknownartist27

It says "dynamics are left to the players discretion"

  • @itsGregor Absolutely true.

  • Too much rushing. No dynamics.

  • I dislike all of the Group A pieces to be honest and this is the dullest out of the lot. Its like doing a technical exercise. Group B and C are much better, but i guess group A tend to be the Baroque pieces. I don't dislike baroque music with the except of the Bach one I'm really struggling to find one i like and therefore my efforts aren't has great.

  • @soc3chappd Try your best. Although for me, I like Group A the most, and B the last. :P

  • u sped up quite a bit in a few places ^ ^

  • I don't understand why you miss some notes and deleted my previous comment!

  • Can you staccato the left hand at 0:08? I always thought it would be leggato... That's what I do, anyway.

  • Lol. i saw another one that was a little to slow. I went back again. I saw another one that looked the same. So i clicked it. Yay!

I found the faster version! :P

  • the trills at the first part are optional. I think that you can do better at the tomality and sound like the crescendo. Great work as always:)

  • i think you forgot the trills at first part...

  • At the beginning there were the missing ornaments. im learning this piece

my teacher said there are optional trills in the second half not the first half.

  • what metronome time are you playing at? it suggests 84 and this seems faster than that..

  • @chocolatnoir93 yeah, i thought so too

  • @lp4d4l The thing is they say 84 for one crochet so its different if you mean quaver and semi quaver.

  • Comment removed

  • some of the ornaments were missed or playe wrongly at the start but otherwise fantastic

  • You're good in playing, I admit. Only problem you got is.. You need to give dynamics man, the composer doesn't give you it. It's also written in ABRSM's book that "Dynamics are left to player's discretion". Regardless I think your playing is quite good.

  • YOU ARE GOOD! i'm taking my test in 10 days >< so nervouss! xDD

  • @toasterstrudelgirl I hope you do well :D :D

  • Did you miss out the ornamentation on purpose or did you just not bother putting them in for anonymous reasons?

  • u CONFIRM will pass ur grade 6 with flying colour and do well

  • we not going to play so fast in the exam right

  • Where do you get ur sheet music from??

  • i really wanna do this piece or A1. Which is better? :\\

  • the last scale is faster than the first scales.

  • I'm going to enter grade 6 exam next year, and I find your videos really useful :)

  • If i cnt take grade 7 and take grade 6 i think i taking a3.

  • Thanks for uploading all the G6 videos..find them really useful! Just curious is A1 really a lot harder than A2 & A3 ? my daughter will start learning her G6 pieces soon and listening to your videos, A1 is the only piece she likes from group A...but if it's hard maybe I'll find her an alternative piece...she has very tiny hands:)

  • Im taking the exam next year. Is this in full speed??

  • countre point!!!

  • This sounds easier..

  • I'm taking grade 6 practical exam next year. My teacher suggested i take A3, which one would you suggest?

  • @theMameeMonster either A2 or A3 are fine, not A1!

  • @alanchan1024 Why not A1? I'm picking A1 ...

  • @alanchan1024

I think A2 is nicer, I am doing A3 (on wednesday :S) and its nowhere near as nice as I had hoped it would be :(

  • @alanchan1024 omg i loved A1!! i was going to do it but we decided on A2 :(

  • @theMameeMonster

For your grade 6 piano, which A piece did you choose and do you like it?

  • @theMameeMonster me too

  • @theMameeMonster I taking it next year. I chose this piece. It's nice!

  • It doesn't sound like you observed the trills and inverted mordents. Is that so? And if yes, why? :/ And could it be just a bit slower? Not too much though... But just a bit.... Or is this the right speed?

  • @sweetangel535 I was using another edition; hence the trillls etc are different. Back then I had not received the ABRSM book. This speed or slightly slower are OK (I think)

  • @sweetangel535 Whatever he plays sounds like the theme from Angela Lansbury's "Murder She Wrote"..

  • Love this one, think i'll do this one for grade 6 :P

  • @Stickvirus Both A2 and A3 are easier than A1 (by a lot?)

  • I am going to enter myself for grade 6 piano next year after not having any lessons since I took grade 5 in 1986, (although still play most days). I found your grade 6 2011-2012 playing extremely useful in helping me to pick suitable songs from the lists. Much appreciated.

  • @Lisa4794 I haven't had any lessons since I took grade 8 in 1994 :-)

  • @alanchan1024 Did you skip some ornaments in this piece?

  • yea, i think he skips some ... mine is played wif our.

  • Amazing, I am suppossed to be learning that tune for my grade 6...

  • @DADOHProductions Good luck with your exam, and enjoy piano playing :-)

  • Wonderful Wonderfful Wonderful You are great pianist

  • @pcma1970 Thank you for your support! I will make tutorials on all ABRSM pieces with my students, starting 17.07.10. Stay tuned!
