  • What a bad ass tune. I was 6 at this time and this became one of my favorite bands then because of an 8 track in a car that belonged to my parents friends. They were helping us move from Redding, CA to Eureka, CA and I was riding with them. I made them play this over and over the whole ride. My whole world was Star Wars, Bugs Bunny, Cheap Trick, Heart, bikes, and Garbage Pale Kinds or some shit. Good times.

  • OHHHH SNAP IT'S HEART TIME.

  • Let's be clear: Roger IS THE man!!!

  • This is so good .... <3

  • @okalani8 Ageed! : )

  • i love their music for more than 30 years, it's still great music!!!

  • The Les Paul he is playing sounds BEAUTIFUL.....and the keys are just so pure.....

  • @OLDSKOOLWAX Absolutely,I love sustain he gets, one of my favorite FRETBOARD MASTERS!

  • roger fisher has got to be the most underrated guitar player ever....all heart songs get credited to the OTHER guy "hehheh" when fisher was the player all along.

  • @clocktime11 Yeah he is great,I am happy he is back in Washington & continuing to share his great gift with us.

  • Damn!!!! 4:12 is insane. Megatons of vocal power there. All effortless.

  • i saw heart at THE DAY OF ROCK N ROLL in new orleans at the SUPER DOME......... heart reo speedwagon blue oyster cult van halen zz top and the rockets........... AWESOME CONCERT.......

  • @saintsmanyou wrong, it was....Blue Oyster Cult, Boston,Heart, Van Halen, Nazereth, Sammy Hagar in 79..

I went again in 81 and it was..Foghat,The Rockets,Heart, REO Speedwagon,Ted Nugent,, I remember Heart's stage lighting caught on fire from the indoor fireworks.

  • Magicmanで一番エキサイティングでAnnが問いかけてくる様に歌っているのは、このビデオ!Awesome!

  • OOOHHHH Nancy ,what a sh*t hot lady!! and Ann's voice, pure heaven!

  • Louder please? The volume is on top and it is barely audible.

  • This is great man, thanks for uploading! ♥

  • What the fuck happened to the volume man?

  • @Jamess9722 This Largo show is muddy and dark,I don't know if it gets any better?

  • That was bad ass!

They were so awesome in the day with Roger Fisher. So Zeppelinish, even the drummer is very Bonhan.

  • @chucke1963 I agree. I love Ann and Nancy....but they were never the same after Roger left.

  • Great video from the good old days. Amazing I never realized before now just how similar in style, phrasing, and delivery Ann Wilson is to Robert Plant - almost a female version,

  • But the way it has played out over time...or evolved... the exit of Roger and then Howard, has properly unveiled Nancy's guitar artistry and musicianship, whereas it was spotlighted periodically in the early days. IMHO, that's a good thing. Heart IS Ann & Nancy in collaboration and that became apparent after hearing Synergia 2010. No vocalist can replace a 3.2 octave range Ann, darlin'. Sorry but it just ain't the same.

  • @agonisti You are killing me here with your take. The Wilson sisters could take any three competent musicians and do what they have done for the last 30 years! What good does it do to "unveil Nancy's artistry and musicianship" if they can't put together one COMPLETE kickass song in 30 years? Without the original members, they just have not got the mojo!

  • I love her shoes, haha!

  • Hadn't seen this one. AWESOME! Fisher is in top form!

  • Ann Wilson is and always has been the best female rock voice in the universe!

    It's a travesty she isn't on there!

  • I was at this show...Cap Center, right? Van Morrison was with them, this was the Dog and Butterfly tour. How did you get this?

  • @Pondscum420 Yes DnB tour, apparently the cap center filmed every show, this was a gift sent to me from a friend in the states.I have no idea of its origin.

  • largo, florida?

  • @dahoss65 No,Maryland.

  • Been enjoying your Heart videos. I have been sharing then on my facebook page.

  • why did people ever stop making music like this, it sucks that my generation's music is ruined just cuz now its all about money and who has the loudest beat. just ridiculous

  • With some posting a lot of great things about Roger Fisher (Which I agree with all of yous), why not submit questions to his website? He is great in answering them personally then it gets posted it on his website in the Q & A section area. His site's address is Rogerfisher(dot)com.

  • That's a great idea,i will go there more often for sure.

  • I really like the way she says, "This could be interesting" at 1:06, & also the way Roger shreds the riff at 2:17. And of course, Nancy is a princess. Great video! A high school friend of mine was there, & I regret not going.

  • Think its horrible that Ann Wilson (heart) isnt in the Rock n Roll hall of fame!!!! If agreed thumbs up and lets start a petition to get heart in!!!!!

    LETS DO THIS!!!

  • @ILuvAnnWils0n Lets,I sent you the link!!

  • @ILuvAnnWils0n Ann Wilson has the best voice. I think

  • @ILuvAnnWils0n WoW, I did not know that, Ann Wilson's not in the Rock n Roll hall of fame? That is so INJUSTICE! I think she has the best voice of any female rock n roll ever...I have always thought that they were AWESOME.

  • @ILuvAnnWils0n Heart was a gutsy female rock group when the field was 99% male dominated--They are trailblazers with great songs and musicianship--This group needs to be in the R and R Hall of Fame --no question

  • @ILuvAnnWils0n Hell yeah!! <3 Ann

  • at the aquarius tavern some times 2 times a month they were the band in the early 70s

  • @1FISHEY Cool,I had heard that, also the Zodiac cabaret in New West B.C.,and OilCan Harry's in Van!

  • ann was a better singing in her 30s than in her 20s. this sounds sterile, no audience noise.

roger fisher created the guitar work but other guitarists perfected its live sound.

  • As I've heard, Roger cheated on Nancy so she started a relationship with the drummer. Your basic "70"'s Rock Band drama.

  • @crrlm8 I thought Nancy was the one who dumped Roger. In watching their behind the music, Roger said that he was very upset, and often would have fits on stage such as breaking his guitar. He did not like the thought of them being together. In my opinion, I think Mike Derosier is cuter. ;-)

  • Roger Fisher is the man.

  • "Heart" is very "Magical"-everything about them. I had to name my black cat "Magic Man" even though he doesn't have blue eyes but his pupils do change from amber to green often.

Thanks for posting this-brings back alot of great memories :)

    Heart=the best!

  • HEART RULES-the rest well, drools. One of a kind Killer voice from Ann. This live version is wayyyyyy better than the record. I saw them in concert about this time-WOW

  • It's Rogers... Jimmy Page esk playing that made the band. He ripped at notes even back then..before Eddie Van. Ann voice is unbelievable..The drummer was great to.. To me the band just wasnt the same after Roger Fisher left.

  • boy, you said it, its the same ol band syndrome, the players get involved w/ each other & thats the beg of the end..

I know i did it too, and it is the pits, a real roller coaster ride.

however i amgonna state right here for the band to have a reunion of the original line-upw/ Roger,Mike,Howard leese, & Steve Fossen, that would so special

if fleetwood Mac & the Eagles can do it so can Heart..

  • I absolutely agree Roger Fisher gave the band that kick ass sound - just weren't into them after he left! Although I will say that Alive In Seattle DVD is pretty cool!

  • Hes a magic man, mama

  • this is amazing, still. Even though Nancy and Ann have changed so much, their musical talent still gets me.

  • awesome

  • That would be the multi talented Mr Howard Leese.

  • The chick in this vid is hot

  • on fire ...brings back high times and california green grass ....now in clearwater

  • Yet it was Roger's band, originally. And he wrote SO many of the main songs that are now well-known. The sisters are great, but his contribution can never be put down....

  • yes alot of people incl myself did not know it was Rogers band & he named it Heart i thought that the name came w/ the girls but no it was all Roger & Steve & then Mike & Howard w/ Ann 1st & then Nancy..can you imagine this band playing all the classic tunes that the girls are playing now, they are doing tons of Zep, even Who songs (my fav live act) well thank the lord i saw them in 1978 on the Dog & Butterfly tour & they smoked, i dropped my jaw when Nancy played the intro to Crazy on you!

  • Where is this footage from? Looks like a great show from all the clips I've seen. If the master is still around, this would make one hell of a DVD release.

  • I'm guessing this was at the old Capital Centre arena in Landover/Largo, MD. From what little I saw of that arena, it was one of the few back then that had a video projection screen, long before "video boards" at arenas and stadiums became so prevalent and so cool.

Heart is one of my favorites, and watching them as they were back then on a video like this is a real treat.

  • Very nice live version in concert. I like the sound of those guitars and the keyboards too, very good live musician

  • Seems that Roger never got his due as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. This guy is among the greats!

  • Heart is great!

  • Roger Fisher is the man! He could make the simplest riffs sound badass! Good stage presence as well. He played with confidence. DeRosier was a great drummer too. I'm still not clear on what broke him and Nancy up though. Was it because she like DeRosier?

  • Yes, they broke up because Nancy fell for the drummer Derosier. You can see the actual concert footage of Fisher smashing his guitar on stage due to that love triangle. Log on to Heart-News 1, Heart-News 2 and so on for the Music history of heart. Very interesting.

  • As in real life, one should never, ever get involved with people they work with.

  • I love Ann and Nancy and I saw Heart just this last weekend and they were great. But, it is really great to see some fans on this post giving Roger Fisher the credit he deserves. He is just amazing in this live vid. His tone is as sharp as a razor. He was a very important part of their success in the late 70's. That period was when they were making their best stuff and when I saw them that was what 95% of their set consisted of.

  • Heart is still god but Roger Fisher is awesome! Along with the rest of them....

  • Heart is just not the same without Roger Fisher or Howard Leese! There's no doubt they are still good with the line-up now but this line-up was truly the best without a doubt! Anne & Nancy should try to ask him to come back just for the sake of the fans who love the original line-up!

  • Great stuff! Heart very great American Classic Rock!

  • ....even though they're from Canada! ;)

  • Well Seattle, however they formed in Van Canada and were first recognized here,Dreamboat Annie of course was recorded at Mushroom studios in Vancouver.

  • Seattle or Vancouver, who really cares.. it's all the N.W. and being a Seattle Native here, I still love this band to death. Thanx for the info about "Mushroom" as that was indeed the label. I can STILL rmbr buying "Dreamboat Annie" for $2.99 at Budget Tapes and Records in Burien Haha.. such a great time..

  • Actually they were first recognized in Vancouver. Their first single was Magic Man and it was first popular in Canada. Either way, they were going to get discoverd anyway.

  • I understand,but its all good!At least they gravitate to real music/Rock!

  • I don't know why everyones makes a big deal of nancys guitar work. All the videos ive seen ,the guys do most of the heavy guitar work.

  • My favorite part is at 4:15.....Ann Wilson could really wail in her younger years!

  • Forgive him Forgive him Roger watch a rap video Those guys walk around with girls with a leash around their neck. He was a huge part of the success of this band..more than leese. They lost their edge when he left. Drummer was good to. I don't know if the drummer wrote songs but Fisher did. Ann should have had the relationship with Roger. Band would have been much better. Those two had a connection.

  • roger fisher is amazing.... and yes, it would be a shame if they include heart in R&RHOF and dont take him in consideration, as well with leese, derosier and fossen. Roger was talking about a heart reunion and I quote:

"In order for something as appropriate and noteworthy as the original band reforming for any reason, Ann and Nance would have to forgive me my mistakes of the past. That way, we could feel comfortable around each other and once again be productive in a democratic relationship"

  • Ann's a magic woman, I love you and the band! You too lovesheart!

  • As a guy...is it okay if I like Heart? They can really jam...

  • Does anyone know why Roger would put duct tape on his first pick on his gold top les paul??? Roger his my hero for guitar

  • What do you mean by "on his first pick"? Do you mean pickup? If so, I would suppose the pickup is messed up or something or he is/has found a tone/sound he likes and created with the tape on the pickup.

  • Why not take something away from them. The guy does not get enough credit. It was his Band. He Played lead not Nancy. Those solo's are his along with the songs he wrote co-wrote. He was discredited and left the band with his Brother because of some cheating and a fight with Nancy. Band was never as good without him. Ann's hot and writes good songs but the guy should have had the relationship with her.

  • yet when Roger was with them, people would say that heart would suck, they obviously don't know the old heart

  • The entire band was very talented, and I feel privileged to have been there when they established themselves as the best band in Vancouver B.C.

  • I recently saw a show VH1 celebrates ZZtop, Heart etc.. When they interviewed the sisters they didn't even mention him and claimed to have worked with many great performers(something like that) They made it sound like they and they alone were Heart. If they get into the Hall of fame and he is not included that would be wrong. If you like the early stuff..You like Roger Fisher. He was as much a part of what happen as Ann and Nancy.

  • Roger was amazing, but when and if you ever read more into Heart's success, you'll find that all of them, and mainly Ann and Nancy together, are the source of the band's earlier success. But if I were to point to someone other than Ann and Nancy (who wrote alot of those riffs that Roger played, mind you. Nancy wrote a huge amount of the music on those first 5 albums) I would point to Mike Flicker and Howard Leese as being the rocks of the band and a big reason why those albums sound so great.

  • @tr33887 ann was with roger's brother

  • hit it o boy!! hit it o boy!!! god that's so funny.

  • Ann Wilson Rules!!

  • It just doesnt get any better than this!!! Attraction, seduction, and sweet love making. This is what this performance feels like.

  • Oh my God! Give me a hit of acid so I can listen to this over & over!!

  • This is a really kick ass version of Magic Man. The chemistry with this version of the band was so tight.
