Conrail handles the freight on this portion of the NEC, the Amtrak with hoppers is a ballast train in MOW service.

The westbound/southbound would have been the Silver Star, I believe the eastbound/northbound was the Silver Meteor (the Crescent usually has at least one MHC in the consist)
