I used to live in Asheville, NOT ANYMORE!, I kinda like it out here more then I do in Asheville. I moved here to Weaverville like...a week or two ago.
That was my home...I grew up there. Then I was kicked out because lazy people didn't want to drive to asheville. I miss my home. Trailer or not, it was peaceful and I had good nieghbors just like living in a house. Now my home is a parking lot. Thanks weaverville.
Well, when they decided that they were going to make us move for a walmart my mom was in the process of saving up for a nice place...you know, not another trailor park A house. But they made us move and she had to use her money to move the trailor to another park. And though just like there it is our home, she would like to find some place that she can call hers. So she works constantly. She always has, so it is not a matter of laziness like some people think about people who live in trailors.
Or trailers, lol. Some hispanic friends of mine used to call that the "Weaverville Projects", haha. It think it is the perfect hub spot for the area.. Madison County, Tennessee, Asheville. I believe it will be a big hit and pull the community together if anything. I think "New Media and Community" thinking so do not expect all to understand. Development done in the proper way with the community utilizing the avenues available to network and grow can be tremendous! No more "running to AVL" too!
I just enjoy Weaverville without a Walmart... there are Walmarts everywhere. I feel that the small town feel has been completely done away with now, along with the development near Flick Video, the Walmart has pushed it over the edge.
I just recently moved away from the Weaverville area (to Boone... where we also have a Walmart.) I guess my opinion doesn't really matter anymore, but like I said, it really just doesn't feel like Weaverville anymore. At least they didn't clear another mountain.
I definitely understand that, being able to come "home" to a place that still has that hometown feeling etc. and then it seeming commercialized. It is hard to look and understand both the development side and then the hometown resident side together at the same time. We tend to extreme one way or another, while we should be focused on maturing community development in stages. Thanks LMM
Keep your comments and everything bro. Love your position, even having one is awesome. You contribute a lot of dialogue and are a very very cool YouTuber and Weaverville thinker
that is definitely true. I also feel why you dont want a walmart in weaverville, I wanted a target instead, oh well. About the clear another mountain thing, I also agree with you. Building on those slopes is bad news.
sorry for bugging you, but when you come back to weaverville you need to do an update on this center. They have got the building for lowes done as well as they are in the middle of paving. thank you!
just to let you know, that the lowes building in weaverville now has the LOWES Sign on the building. I believe that they was working on the traffic signal at the intersection with 25-70 yesterday

@HMGen14 Some people like to live in the middle of Asheville, some in the County outskirts, congrats on your move!

Yeah, I was just saying today that Target would have been awesome.
Which brings up another point, I just generally don't agree with the way Walmart does business. I won't go into that though, haha.

Can't wait for this to open so I will rarely have to go into Asheville and I will save a lot of money buying groceries at Wal-Mart.
