TKD, judo, Karate, Boxing, Wrestling all teach you to utilise your hips. adn they all will teach you very great things

@xjxm The thing is I have a 1st degree in TKD and a brown in Judo, plus some boxing training. Nobody I've competed against, even at nationals, would worry me in a grappling/mixed martial arts format.
@TheTerrorUforgot I like that you actually cross-train and compete and aren't just talking ignorantly. Maybe try fighting or sparring with a boxer/kickboxer/mixed martial artist and see how easy or hard it is to just walk in. I've seen it happen in boxing matches when the two fighters go at each other and end up in the clinch. If it's one approaching and the other trying to keep away, it can be tough trying to get in safely. Good luck.
I question why the "Judoka" didn't work towards a a choke around the 2:14 mark. I'm not seeing a fair defense with those gloves on. Tsukkomi jime or Sode jime possibly to win? The TKD practitioner appears to have a love of their art. I respect that.

I am a judo instructor and the judo level of this guy is very low, he doesn't do ONE technique, neither a choke nor a lock while he is fighting on the ground. Generally judokas are extremely dangerous when the attacker gets too close, on the contrary he seems quite scared.

@xjxm The thing is I have a 1st degree in TKD and a brown in Judo, plus some boxing training. Nobody I've competed against, even at nationals, would worry me in a grappling/mixed martial arts format.

@TheTerrorUforgot I like that you actually cross-train and compete and aren't just talking ignorantly. Maybe try fighting or sparring with a boxer/kickboxer/mixed martial artist and see how easy or hard it is to just walk in. I've seen it happen in boxing matches when the two fighters go at each other and end up in the clinch. If it's one approaching and the other trying to keep away, it can be tough trying to get in safely. Good luck.

I question why the "Judoka" didn't work towards a a choke around the 2:14 mark. I'm not seeing a fair defense with those gloves on. Tsukkomi jime or Sode jime possibly to win? The TKD practitioner appears to have a love of their art. I respect that.

I am a judo instructor and the judo level of this guy is very low, he doesn't do ONE technique, neither a choke nor a lock while he is fighting on the ground. Generally judokas are extremely dangerous when the attacker gets too close, on the contrary he seems quite scared.
