I have a couple of questions, if you might offer a few words of advice to a prospective buyer.
Obviously it's insanely expensive and I don't want to buy it if the Electro Rack will do the job! In your opinion is there adequate difference to justify the (almost comedy) price?
how is it playing organs etc with weighted keys? It might be too much to ask, but can you use the layering to control eg the organ, from an external midi controller?
is there any editing function in the synth section?

Depends on what you want from it... the piano samples are better, the action is good and the sounds are usable and playable. It is essentially two keyboards in one with duplicate of every sound available(assignable to another keyboard)

organs are impossible to use on this piano action(imo) however there is a stage compact availible for a lot cheaper with semiweighted keys (all other functionality intact.) you can easily assign the organ (or if using the compact the piano) to any other keyboard.
doesn't the weighting of the keys vary with each instrument. i heard the weighting changes slightly or alters when the note is heard. The catalog said that a piano would actually play differently than an organ or clavinet.
the keyboard trigger point raises on the clavinet and organ sample..
however i don't think (and i have found this problem gigging) that you can play stylistically convincingly with the weighted keys. - i Have a clavinet c1 and hammond L100 and so base this opinion purely on direct comparison.
well luckily for me, i have never played the original, so it should feel fine for me haha... just kiddin, i really want to play an orginal clavinet though, same with hammond b3
and vise-versa with the Organ sounds on the nord stage can i up put them sounds from the stage and play them through the Nord electro for the feel of the Waterfall keys..
the great thing about the nord stage is it's multitimbral.
there are two synth engines thereforeyou can either layer or split upto six sounds (two of each section) on the one keyboard or use another keyboard to trigger them, i sold my electro when i bought the stage(minor regret now though because of sheer portability!) hope this helps
Hey man i love both of your reviews on this Nord stage great one man and your demo playing by this shows you are a kicker!! Great piano jazz on the other review also great job! got a question, sorry but have to ask. I have the electro which is fucking awesome and getting the stage in september i was woudnering can i set both of these up togehter so i can play the Rhodes MK 1 Suitcase sound through the Nord stage whilst hooked up to the electro
I know this is a review for the Stage, but I have a question about the Electro 2. Could I plug it into a weighted keyboard like a Kawai MP5 for the rhodes and wurlitzer sounds?
Will we ever see a part 3 review of the synthesizer section? There is NO info to speak of on the synth section anywhere, help us Obi-wan your our only hope;)!
I'm gettin antsy for your Nord electro synth section review, sorry I don't mean to be pesty, there is just virtually NO info or sound samples of the synth section of that board!
Hi there, a fellow Stage player here. The Electro has the option of connecting a second keyboard to act as a "lower manual." Can the stage do this? I think this would be a handy feature due to the fact that the Stage's keys are fully weighted, making quick organ passages difficult. Thanks a bunch-really enjoyed the video's. This keyboard rocks!
I second that request for more demoing of the "synth" section, this is what's keeping me from making the leap and not just buying the nord electro rack, I already own Motif XS7, is the synth section "significant" or an afterthought, in your opinion? Your a very good musician!
this is a stage 88 with the weighted board. the keyboard is great for piano sounds etc but not so natural for the hammond feel, the keys do not return so quick so percussive playing is a little compromised.
Is there any sound of Mellotron, strings and choir like in Nord Electro?

ribadisco l'idea che questa tastiera è uno strumento bellissimo ma nelle mani del tipo perde tutto lo splendore.....

Fabulous organ sound. Would like to have heard more pads/textures it's capable of. Pity they cost a fortune. Cheers.
