some people use additives to and adhesives in the sand. but most competition rules dont allow for additives. Im doing a uni project at the moment and was wondering if ANYBODY knows what the additives are? Some type of clay? glue? synthetic material? Reply on my home page please. cheers.

No additives are used in sculpting. A fine mist is sprayed over the sculptures to protect them from rain and wind after sculpting is completed. This solution is 20 to 30% white glue and is absorbed into the sand and acts as an invisible layer of protection.

No, actually they are not allowed to use adhesive. They can only use water. They can use food coloring and flour as a coloring agent only.
