  • Deep forest...un finale anthologique...un grand film...Vincent d`Onofrio et les autres au sommet.

  • Highly underrated movie with an awesome cast and soundtrack.

  • nice job, i like that kind of ending.

  • I just finished re-watching this awesome movie and came here looking for the ending song. Strange Days should be better known, but then again, the movie's more special to me when it's not ~popular~

  • Every time yuotube delete strange days-credits. I cry.

  • The pics shown during the song(especially the last ) make it so powerful.

  • A brilliant but surprisingly underrated movie of the 90s. This song is just so cool and futuristic sounding. I actually sat thru the credits just to hear this song!

  • @raverbud me too! lol

  • I like this movie!

Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Lewis was amazing!

  • Might be one of the most underrated and under-seen movies. Fine soundtrack And Feinnes and Basset take over the screen. Point Blank is not as good but still good. The movie was released at the wrong time, wrong place .. after the OJ trial.

  • Why did Kathryn Bigelow not get recognised until 'The Hurt Locker'? This (and Near Dark) were superb movies. Even point break is a watchable popcorn action flick. She's got talent.

Anyway - great end sequence and song to a great movie.

  • I love this song and the ending credits for this movie. So evocative!

  • Cool

  • fabulous movie ;D i want MORE!!

  • This movie didn't fare well at the box office because it was WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY ahead of it's time. Brilliant acting. story, dark suspense, and one of the best scores....also ahead of its time.

  • Thanks to upload this ! ☆

  • This film was simply amazing. One of THE GREATEST films of the 90's and 10 years ahead of it's time.

  • I uploaded the entire film, enjoy.

  • This movie is sooo underrated!! Such a classic and the soundtrack even better!!!

  • The film itself wasn't spectacular. The end credits may be the best part, I love the stills. Cameron has always been good with scoring and editing.

  • Everything regarding this film is magical... even the ending credits ! And I always loved this tune.

  • OMG it big song !! i like so much <333333 =D

  • Just watched this movie again. Good times and definitely an underrated gem. This is the movie that made me realize that Angela Bassett is smokin hot. And I love the music, especially this song!!!

  • What asshat said that this is japanese? It's estonian...I think

  • this might be one of the best end credit songs ever played in a film... totally cool movie

  • Most unrated movie, I agree.

  • jay cocks:)

  • This wasn't the first time James Cameron and Kathryn Bigalow worked on a movie.

I'll give you a hint: 100% pure Adrenaline.

  • law and order esqe

  • I so have to get this on blu ray.

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG??? ITS EPIC!!!!

  • @pimpinporkchunks "While the Earth Sleeps" by Deep Forest and Peter Gabriel :) I love this song too.

  • @pimpinporkchunks "While the Earth Sleeps" by Deep Forest, featuring Peter Gabriel

  • bad script, worst of Bigelow movies, this song is best part of this movie.

  • この映画、面白かったなぁ…

  • This and POint Break were the 90's highlights for me as far as cinema. And maybe Heat as well. It's purely coincidental that they were both directed by Kath Bigelow. I don't know why Strange days didn't find a market because I was floored by this movie. I thought Fiennes was a bit miscast but that being said, the spirit of this movie was so great. I miss the 90's so much after watching it and hearing this song.

  • I uploaded the entire film.

  • I LOVELOVE LOVE these credits

  • Hadn't even heard of Deep Forest until I watched this film and caught the end credits. The song put the hook into me.

  • This movie was wicked!!!! I love Juliette Lewis...she rocks!!!

  • Perfect movie. Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron make a great movie.

  • James Cameron - his formula writing never seems to fail to bring in the movie goers.

  • My favourite Sci-Fi movie of all times.

  • don't you just love the still of michael wincott decking ralph fiennes in the face? it just sums up lenny so perfectly.

  • Ótimo filme. Está no meu TOP 5.

    5. 2001

    4. Blade Runner

    3. Empire Strikes Back

    2. ALIENS

    1. Strange Days

    :D

  • Hell yeah. Strange Days was the shit!

  • I love this track. The Junior Vasquez remix is better though.

  • I love the ending credits with the pictures and such. I miss the 90's authenticity. Come back to me.

  • great movie !!!!!!!

  • This movie was classy all throughout. The song was perfect. Thanks for uploading!

  • excelent movie, i always wanted to hear this song again, thank you

  • This movie should be a cult classic. Man, I love the ending is happy and sweet with no corny dialog needed.

  • Congratulations!!!

  • BRILLIANT MOVIE

  • Are there any ideas as to what Peter Gabriel is singing outside of the established 4 lines of Macedonian here, or any of the other lyrics in the song at all?

  • first time i saw the movie was when it was on tele on the eve of 2000. so i feel kind of lucky

  • People say James Cameron is not a good writter but he wrote this did he not

  • He did. And his then-wife directed. Not sure how this one turned out so good.

  • That would be Kathryn Bigelow.

  • @KakunoBuddha Uh because Kathryn Bigs rocks? DUH! Near Dark, Point Break + the mind behind Terminator... not rocket science, obvious it turned out so awesome.

  • @KakunoBuddha James was busy working on either t2 or the abyss (his best imo). Thats the only reason he didn't direct this one. It's def a sleeper hit though.

  • This film is so nostalgic to me. Especially when the credits come on. The song is just pure 90's style goodness. The part where you see brigitte bako's name and that other instrument comes in,PURE NOSTALGIA

  • @Blastaar7 You read my mind. I was a college kid in 95. This flick gave me so many dreams. I can't begin to explain. THis and Point Break both by Bigelow.

  • @Blastaar7 Totalmente de acuerdo contigo ( Completely agree with you, In that year of 1995 was my days of glory......

  • @navylaks2

This could be like him 'directing' Terminator 2 (AKA coming in on the last few weeks after an Italian director had done much of the work)

    Or like him 'writing' Avatar...

  • @bloodrunsclear T2? I think you mean 'Piranha 2', buddy.

  • @navylaks2 Not a good writer? Are mainly kids saying this? Regarding Avatar? If so, Avatar was a mediocre, under-whelming script from a director that people have higher expectations from. I wouldn't say he was a bad writer based on this one blight.

  • Thanks for running this. This was what turned me on to Deep Forest's music in the first place. Great closing credits scene.

  • Everyone should be watchin this near or on new years eve this year, it's still got somethin to say for society/culture ppl...

  • @paypartyguy i try to watch it every year on or before new years

  • I saw this movie when it opened the 1995 London Film Festival. Great film, great music. I wish we had movies half as good now,

  • @walkabou5 well unfortunately Katherine Bigelow (who was together with James Cameron) hasn't been able to make a film like this since they broke up. fucking James Cameron

  • That's not entirely true since "Hurt Locker" has 9 nominations for the Oscar, including Directing. :-)

I hope this will give the film more exposure than "Strange Days" had and she can continue to make great films.

  • i didn't know she made Hurt Locker. good for her!

  • Strange Days is underrated masterpiece - unique storyline, great acting, directing, producing...

Ralph Fiennes (Lenny Nero) is always brilliant no matter it's comedy, drama or sci-fi movie. Angela Bassett did a great job as well. The final kiss scene was so sweet.

I don't know why but this film reminds me another underrated SCI-FI/Action movies of the 90's - The Lawnmower Man, Johnny Mnemonic, Deathline (Redline), New World Disorder, Futuresport, Barb Wire......

  • Oddio nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

  • I never actually saw this movie. Just one night, I turn on the TV while browsing the internet, and this movie is on. And I don't pay much attention to it, until the credits come and this music play.

Then I wanted to find out what the score of the movie was... Pretty nice.

  • @VerifyVolatile the credit music isn't part of the score. but if you don't have the attention span for the who movie you wouldn't know that

  • galaxystar1000...I absolutely agree, one of my favorite movies and so relevant to our times! I luv this song!

  • Definitely one the most underated movies of the 90's. This movie deserves a kick-ass re-release on dvd, with like tons of extra cool stuff on it. Everything about this movie was fabulous. And the soundtrack is the bomb! The best soundtrack I have ever purchased, I listen to it almost daily. This is definitely one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life, even though I don't understand the lyrics.

  • Solid post; from what I've heard, the lyrics are from an old Macedonian folk song.

  • Original lyrics in Macedonian:

    "Dali znaesh mila majko

    Shto sum nesrekjna?,

    Cel den doma sama sedam,

    Nadvor ne smejam."

    English translation:

    "Do you know, dear mother

    Why am I so unhappy?

All day I sit at home,

    I am not allowed outside."

  • @olives639 song by Deep Forest featuring Peter Gabriel

  • @galaxystar1000 100% agree. Awesome movie and music.

  • @galaxystar1000 Awesome Right on. 100% agree. If I had been in charge of the Oscars at that time I would have nominated Angela Bassett and Ralpha Fiennes for sure. And Kathryn Bigelow. Etc!!!!

  • @galaxystar1000 Original Macedonian: Dali znaesh mila majko shto sum ne srekjna Cel den doma sama sedam Nadvor ne smejam English Translation: Do you know, mother, How unlucky I am? All day I sit at home, I am not allowed outside This is an old Macedonian rhyme
  • 3:39

Syd Mead worked on this film?!

  • IMDB says he designed the decks and trodes. A minor role, but interesting nonetheless

  • This is by far one of my all time favorite movies. Everything about it was just so riveting and well put together. I really wish I got to see it on the big screen back then though. This ending credit sequence is just beautiful and will certainly stick with me forever.

  • I did see it on probably the 2nd or 3rd day after it's release. It was great, except the film broke right before you saw the killer's reflection in the last brain tape! On the other hand, I was tripping. =D

  • This was by far one of the coolest movies of the 90's

  • And the most underrated too.

  • sadly the tech-noir films after the 90s didn't pan out to be as good as ones like this and the others from the 80s into the mid 90s.

  • though what is being said i can not understand, i still love this song.. like many of u, i first heard it from this wonderful movie.. which btw was EXTRAORDINARY! man i miss the 90's

  • i miss the 90's and movies like this...a raw 90's movie...god i love it...one of the best movies ever

  • raw... that´s the word

  • MASTERPIECE!

  • 1995 best year for sci fi moves: Johnny Mnemonic, Strange Days, Tank Girl, Virtuousity

  • Don't forget Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys or Jeunet's City of Lost Children. Both came out in '95 and were excellent as well.

  • @TheRealFolkBruce yep so did congo and heat

  • Simply AWESOME...I discovered Deep Forest through this wonderful movie. It's a sci-fi classic right up there with Blade Runner with it's vision of a dark future where humanity and hope are the only things left to save the day. If i ever made a soundtrack for my life, this would definitely have to be included!

  • AWESOME SONG.

    NICE TRANCE

  • My favorite movie of all time.

  • thank you soo much i love this song this is the best song and movie in world thank you soo much

thank god there are people in the world who take time outa there life to post vids for othere people to enjoy

  • Where can you find this 'extended' version of 'While The Earth Sleeps'? It's only 3:50 on the soundtrack.

    Thanks.

  • Look for any download site that features the album "Essence Of Deep Forest". The long version can be found on it.

  • Thank you kindly for the response. I saw the 'While the Earth Sleeps' CD, but as it is rare, Ebay/Amazon wants a crap load of money for it. Again many thanks to you!

  • I can't get enough of this! This right here, the credits/long version of this is full of win! In my opinion this is the movie's theme song!

**Thank you, thank you, thank you!**

  • This song sums up the movie quite perfectly. I nice round out to a 'cult classic'. Fiennes 'Lenny', scummy as he is, is a character that grows on you.

  • One of the best parts of this movie is when Lenny is meeting a new client. The way he describes wire tripping is hypnotic. Let's face it folks who wouldn't want to have someone else's experiences that were outside their own...for "the right twenty minutes."

  • Just rewatched the DVD of this movie again, and STILL I am mesmerized by the ingenious filmaking and acting by all in this film! Killer directing, acting, cinemetography, soundtrack and writing just made this movie a classic for me and definitely one of my faves! Really, I think that this film was waaay before it's time. RF as Lenny Nero was just such a tragic/complex anti hero and I LOVED his relationship with Mace. AB/RF were golden as well as the entire cast! Bravo to all involved!

  • @TangelineMadness So true. I thought the relationship was complex, provocative and deliciously sexy. Fantastc flick

  • they are singing in Macedonian or Russian

    Dali znaesh mila majko

    shto sum ne srekjna

    Cel den doma sama sedam

    Nadvor ne smejam

  • yes they are singing in Macedonian

    Дали знаеш мила мајко

    што сум несреќна

    Цел ден дома сама седам

    Надвор не смеам...

  • This movie kicked soo much ass. I loved it!

  • thanks SO much for uploading this. Love this movie, love the ending, love the music.

  • I'm sorry, but you're incorrect. That's not even remotely Japanese.

  • @KakunoBuddha African I believe... although that too was my first impression many moons ago...

  • @KakunoBuddha Actually, it has samples of music by Shashvi Kakabi.

Commenting on post from 2 years ago, lol.

  • @4rainbowed Hon, it's Macedonian. 0_0

  • As far as I know some choir from Latvia has partcipated in the recording of this song. But the language they are singing is not latvian.

  • I read elsewhere that the language is Macedonian.

  • perfect role for the cops I can't look at a movie without seeing them as this........

    even go and many others.......

  • Wolf, The Moderns, Strange Days, Highlander with Sean Connery nd Christopher Lambert

  • I just looooooooooooooooooove this movie!!!!

  • I had the fortune to see this film on New Year's Eve 2000 at a party. The film should only be watched on New Year's Eve. Kathryn Bigelow is an awsome underrated director and this for me is her best film.

The whole film's like one huge party, stunning, a real head trip and this closing credits track just sums up new year, new millenium - its almost emotional.

Great to see its so appreciated. Thanks guys.

  • Payparty, you summed it up just right. It IS emotional for me, and actually, one of the very highlights of this film for me is the ending credits. Great shots of all the cast..the pulsating music by Deep Forest just conveys everything this film is about. I'm glad to see someone else shares my sentiments about this movie :)

  • Not everyone is as knowledgable as you on the subject, I'm sure. Keep it civil.

  • LOVE FILM! LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Its in bulgarian.. they sing - do you know my dear mother why i am so unhappy?.. after i dont understand and hear

  • it's actually in macedonian

  • peter gariel is awesoe what did he say

    as the credits finish?

  • mom had that song on limewire

    right mom

  • i just saw this movie, and when the credits rolled i just thought "man, i've got to find that song! too bad i'll probably newer find it." and here it is :)

  • lol, I just watched this too. What a movie.... 1995 must of been a year for cyberpunk movies.

  • what else is from that year? maybe johnny mnemonic?

  • You might want to check out "Hackers".

  • you played too? I thought I was alone ... this wan't a cyberpunk movie ( I thought )

johnny mnemonic was so cyberpunk though...

  • the name is While the earth sleeps by Peter Gabriel with Deep Forest...

  • Actually, Deep forest with Peter Gabriel

  • WHAT'S THE NAME OF THIS SONG?????

  • It might be in the little vid info box up there on the right.

  • Saw this movie in HD on Cinemax. It was terrific. One of the best sci-fi films I ever seen.

  • Just ordered the Soundtrack.

  • Peter Gabriel is great vocalist...

    amazing song!!!

  • I agree these pics and music rule.

  • The best ending credits ever, the photos are awesome, I never forget the impression the first viewing of this movie left on me, much thanks to this sequence.

  • It's a rare occurrence when one gets goose bumps from the imagery in a film's ending credits, but it's definitely the case here.

  • agree with you

  • same

  • Thanks for putting this up! Strange Days is a fabulous movie and this is a great song, some of Gabriel's best latter-day work.

  • This movie was directed by Katheryn Bigelow, ex James Cameron wife. The movie script is from Cameron's. It's an impressive movie and Katheryn did a good work using the Cameron's idea.

  • what is this song about?

  • There's a translation somewhere back in the comments.

  • "Do you know, mother,

    How unlucky I am?

All day I sit at home,

    I am not allowed outside"

  • One of the best movies ever-the ending song is just damn cool and fits, too.

  • This is the best movie l actually saw, inspired me in meny things:)

  • Me too. Inspired me musically and artistically.

  • The film, the music and all the actors are super slick. One of my all time favourite movies. Totally underrated.

  • I got the promo single from the soundtrack including While The Earth Sleeps and Juliette Lewis: Rid Of Me

Great movie and some great music.

  • This is one of my ALL Time FAVORITE Movies!

  • Thanks for posting this.

I loved the movie since I watched it on VHS (in Spain was barely released in cinemas). I always felt hypontised by the end credits. Lenny Nero is a really unforgettable character...

  • I really didn't want to see the movie at first when it came out in theatres because I had read some bad reviews, but my then-girlfriend convinced me to go anyway.

I've been taking movie critics' judgements with a grain of salt ever since then. Great movie, brilliant soundtrack, and the ending credits are still some of the best around. The still images add so much to the atmosphere...

Oh yeah, and PG is the man.

  • Yeah, this is a great film. I have to admit, when Mace looks like she's about to punch Lenny out and says "Memories are designed to fade for a reason", I was nearly driven to tears. Lenny was just like an addict...clinging to memories that he refused to let go of.

  • a film that simply defies time, this does not look like it was made in 1995 at all. i really like this film!

  • I don't know why but the song makes me wanna cry...

  • If this song makes you want to cry then you should check out Lori Carson & Graeme Revell - Fall in the Light, also from the movie Strange Days. It's playing during the last scene and it gets me every. single. time.

  • Thanks for uploading this. This film was very underrated. I've been trying to find the ending song for SO long now.

  • y, very true! VERY underated even on imdb and other sites!

anyway my fav movie and song.. i have all the songs from it :)

  • the rape scene in this film was so graphic I almost lost it in the theatre.
