For granted? in southern USA the police and schools treat us like shit for trying to give rights for expression. ex. punk/metal lovers are being treated like slaves thanks to the cop and the school principal bans rock,punk,scene,emo,etc style except hip hop. believe it or not southern parts of USA are doing the same. if you go to a school there dressing non hip hop or casual you get in trouble even suspended for the whole school year. how is that for granted?

This song is actually based on a true story. Its the story of a man from San Diego in 1912. He was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World aka Wobblies. During that time free speech was outlawed in San Diego in an attempt to stop unions from organizing. This guy was speaker at the protests, and one night a bunch of vigilantes who where against the labor movement grabbed this guy and shoved him in a car. When he got out they poured tar over him and throw Sagebrush on him.

Amazing!! I love the folky sound. This is the true root of what punk rock is, it is an attitude, not a style. Punk is the disallusionment and malcontent of the common man and songs like this convey it beautifully.
