@BlacKnightRising marxist? how clueless can one person get? obama is a corporate lackey just like most of em. laws and rulings made that benefit corporations is not marxism, i don't give a flip what fox news said.
@dudeeful1 obama is nothing more than a marxist hell bent on the destruction of this nation, we're too big, we consume too much etc, the typical mantra of a phoney liberal, with all the stimulus money thrown at the economy we're still sinking, why?? cuz obama hates the private sector, where jobs are created end of story, he hates corporations so what are u talking about??? more gov't less private sector jobs, obamacare says it alll what planet are u from man
Sadly the CBS soap operas named (Secret Storm & Edge of Night) are long gone; the latter was on ABC for a time before being cancelled. All the older CBS soaps then are now gone (Love of Life, Guiding Light & As The World Turns). They just have The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful now which are excellent soaps but they debuted after this episode aired (Y&R in 1973; B&B in 1987)
Nixon was personally corrupt and, yeah, Watergate was pretty bad, but what about today?
We had Bush and Cheney, who lied to the country in order to invade Iraq. This blunder cost us almost three thousand soldiers and Marines, and about a trillion dollars. And what do we have to show for it? Are we safer? No, Iran is now the most powerful country in the region, since we took out their worst enemy, Saddam. Al Qaeda is still out there.
Like a typical liberal you fail to mention that Iran is now in the best shape it has ever been because it has a "bosom buddy," President Blamebush, in the white house. The president of Iran was a guest at Valerie Jarrett's house when he last visited the UN - I don't think we can blame president Bush for that but of course liberals will.
First of all, I'm not a liberal. No offense, but you do sound like all too typical conservative hack, though, who willfully ignores the truth if it doesn't correspond to his ideology, and who does more damage to American interests than the worst liberal.
You say nothing to the fact that we eliminated Iran's greatest threat, Saddam, and that many powerful Iraqi politicians are Iranian allies, because it is an irrefutable TRUTH. Say that it's not true, I dare you.
Second, Iran is in "the best shape ever" because they know that we can't invade them at present, which is why they feel sufficiently confident to continue w/their nuke program. Why? Because our army is too strained by fighting two simultaneous wars.
Also, Iran uses its power very wisely, by paying and/or training proxies to do its work for them, like Hamas, Hizbollah, and the so-called "special groups" in Iraq, which is far cheaper and more effective than an outright invasion.
I would say "republican hack" instead of "conservative hack" actually, because true conservatives (albeit I do not like putting labels on people) do not support war, but peace. The republicans are far from conservative, and coming unglued today because Obama (who I do not support economically or socially, but do support his efforts for peace) is scaling back the republicans' beloved wars instead of expanding them. It is costing the war industry, who controls the republican party, a lot of money.
@baguazhang77 That's BS. The Federal Reserve controls both parties and you fall for the illusion. Obama is expanding the wars and furthering the same agenda as Clinton and Bush. You have been brainwashed by the MSM to think they're working for you. Operation Mockingbird is still in effect.
More accurately, the banking industry (along with the war industry) controls the parties and the FR's policy is designed to profit banks.
I do not watch the MSM (or much of any media) so can assure you I am not "brainwashed" by them." Not everyone is as gullible as you think. It is extremely obvious that Obama is towing the line for the lobby groups like everyone else, just NOT AS MUCH for the war industry as the GOP. But he is still doing it and is just as wrong as his predecessors.
@baguazhang77 Fair enough, but I was generalizing the term, rather than saying "A Cabal of International Bankers". Now, my point of contention was where you said Obama is working for peace and scaling back "Republican Wars". Show me proof of that. There's no such this as a Republican's War or a Democrat's War... they are bi-partisan since both parties serve the same master.
@NoSteveNoPoint gw bush saved the USA from terrorism. he was a great president but your liberal and liberal moderate cannot realize that because they live in the moment and have bastard kids, do drugs, ect.
Following Gloria and Edith around looking dumb, bringing up political arguments at the table, makin fun of his wine.. hahah i woulda kicked him out instantly.
When they discovered the batteries were dead in the portable set they shoulda went to CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, et al to buy some - but then that woulda ruined the plot. Now post 6/12/2009, that set wouldn't have worked since now all digital reception - and doubt could fit a converter box on it. IMO the digital conversion was a conspiracy between digital set manufacturers, cable & satellite dish companies.
Not unless you have a new plasma, I would say with the end of CRT TVs, the technology is only going to get more expensive before it ever gets cheaper and gone are the days when there is a set in every room of the house.
a lot of obama haters but a lot of people voted for him. please people who cannot make good decisions so dont vote next or vote romney.

This was a great show, I dont think they could have cast anyone better to play Archie, Edith, Gloria or Michael.
Walter just read the news, what else did he do? True he wasn't overbearing as some are today, still he just read the news of the day.

I wonder how Edith found out she can fix the picture on the T.V. by standing in that spot and jumping up and down.

Ironically, Archie was right. Walter Cronkite was a Communist. He was a boot-licker to David Rockefeller (Mr. Commy New World Order.)
