  • They only played 'Speed King' at the first 6-7 shows on this tour in 1987.

  • love this :)))

  • omg BURN with gillan................

  • @shotguy1

It is a Trolling mr. Blackmore))

  • This one was in DDR

  • Yes there was time when all of them together so had fun!!!! Great vid!

  • Thank you, great!

  • It's a Glover song. A kickass song. The reunion was perfect till the departure of Blackmore - everything went downhill after that.

  • shit that was the bomb very awesome thnx 4 postng this video

  • It´s been my very first concert...barely a young teenager and it was the greatest thing on earth being in the audience to see them; a dream came true !!! My parents allowed me not to go school the next day. Thanx once again for that !!!

  • I know how it is:)

  • gillan doing monkey noises whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ian why

  • Blackmore IS Deep Purple. Satriani and Morse are great guitar players but the feeling, sound and attitude is Blackmore´s work.

  • @malmsteenfan Well, maybe so, but Glover came up with the Speed King riff and lyrics together with Gillan. Purple would NEVER have been what they were without that line up. MKII!!!! Those people made the music, no matter who came up with the riff or idea. Just listen to the later MKs, or MKI for that matter. They're completely different. Not just because of Blackmore, but because of the personell. Blackmore was a genious, but he didn't do it alone.

  • @IHIKMLSPEED KING RIFF IS RITCHIES WORK.AND MARK3 IS THE BEST PURPLE LINE UP EVER.BUT NEVER MIND,ALL THAT MATTER IS THAT DEEP PURPLE IS THE BEST BAND EVER!!!CHEERS!!!

  • oh Blackmore's playing "BUrn" through the solo! oh fuck, it's great!

  • Uninteresting? =op

  • mmmm they didn't seem to get that bad alon gillan and blackmore in this video...do they?! unless they're telling each other crap jajaja

  • When Gillan got booted in 88,I wasn't too sad to see him go.Now I remember why.

  • gillan really fucked this one up

  • why? I like it...

  • I think Morse is a great player and more importantly, agreat person. But I still prefer RB.

  • you say hes a great person, alright

    i think hes boring

    hes one uninteresting man

  • burn at 2.50!!

  • Gillan ruined DP, not Blackmore.

  • dont worry he's thinking about leaving anyway.

  • well, that might be true, but still Blackmore is making shitty music as well now (Child in Time sung by Candice Night? fuck that)

  • I saw Blackmore's Night at Chicago HOB last month and it was a good show. Blackmore was in rare form and did some killer acoustic, broke out the strat and showed he's aged far better than most of his contemporaries.

  • cool

but lets be honest... Blackmore's Night sucks :P

at least compared to Deep Purple (and i mean the original DP in the 60's and 70's, not the current "tribute" band heh)

  • As far as Blackmore's Night goes, I liked their first couple of albums, but I think the time has come for RB to do one last Rock project. It would take a Dio or Coverdale on vocals to create a stir here in the U.S though. Blackmore's Night has gotten too Pop oriented for me. RB seems to want to do more electric, but his girlfriend's voice is too choral for anything heavy. Although it works well for lighter stuff. Just my opinion though.

    Peace

  • well to be honest, i hardly know anything from Blackmore's Night

but when i saw some clips of it on youtube i thought wtf this looks like the newest MTV trash

and when i saw them performing Child in Time on some shitty german tv show, with everybody in the fucking retarded audience giving standing ovations to the shittiest version of the song imaginable, my slightest possible interest was killed off ;(

  • Ian Gillan is and was Deep Purple, He gave all of his voice to DP, and now has nothing left. Let the fact be known, there is no Deep Purple without Ian Gillan !

  • I would say without Ritchie

  • Byljer: yes, you are right, the duels seem to be better between Morse and Lord but look: between Blackmore and Lord there's much more improvisation.

If you watch two different "speed king" with Morse, you can notice that the solos are almost the same!

Blackmore never plays the same solo again.

  • You call this slop "improvisation"?Ok.

  • yes sure ! why is gillan messing up the duel between lord and blackmore ?

shortly after this gig Gillan got thrown out by the rest of the band. people often think blackmore to be the difficult guy and yes he is. but how difficult is Gillan ? see this one will get through, last mail didn' t

  • The organ/ guitar duells between Lord/ Blackmore during this song after the reunion in 1984...hmmm... I love Blackmore, but the duells between Lord and Morse is way better. Much more to the point.

But, off course, during the seventies no one could beat Lord and Blackmore.

  • Superb!
