Actually, Maynard practices Brazilian jujitsu, if I remember right, and he trains under one of the best teachers in the world apparently. According to him, he uses mixed martial arts and paintball guns to keep stalkers and fans away from his family. Why the reason for the brutality? He says it is because he does not like the idea his friends, girlfriend, or son should be victimized by his career. A very remarkable statement from a very talented individual.
